Very good drone comparison. I like you view about GPS system; GLONASS is an absolute must if you want to make sure you will maintain GPS-lock during a flight mission, especially if you fly in limited area (less satellite FoV) or in northern region. GLONASS is solely Russian version of American GPS (not Russian and American).

I'm new to flying with my phantom 3 advance, i tell you one thing about flying this unit that its so easy and fun to fly. one other thing they say 1.2 miles . I`ve had my unit 2.5 miles, so if your looking for distance buy the dji phantom

I have a question.Did they come out with the standard first. Then the Advanced. Then the 4k and at last the professional?And do those like get better with each one?
I chose the chroma 1080p for a couple of reasons. I don't want to have to use a tablet/cellphone to drive with, and, I don't have any use for 4k. I would just have to dumb it down to 1080p to watch it cause I ain't gonna run out and purchase a new (expensive) computer or tv to take advantage of it. I also like the geo fence feature and I got 2 extra batteries with my chroma. Those batteries are expensive for all these quads. I will say that if the built in screen wasn't available, I would have considered the phantom (not the standard) as it does have a lot going for it.
I dont have a small smart phone, I only have a ipad mini. On the P3-S the remote holder does not support the ipad mini. Will the app still work with the Ipad mini and the P3-S?

I had the phantom 3 standard and I hated the controller. I kept getting signal lost on the drone and it wasn't far at all. I took it back so I can pick up the phantom 3 professional since it will be 799 on black Friday. but you said the professional only goes 1.2 miles? According to DJI, it goes 3.1 miles.
hi i am in Panama republic, i bought the phantom3 advanced due to the specifications say as you just mentioned overhere, tha fly distance, mine at 500mts says you reach the limit or something like that... my contry do not has flight restrictions out of the safe flying zone close to the airport, otherwise you can fly as hight as you want, so is there any thing to do so i can fly my phantom 3 up to 1.2miles.. but also some time at 500mts the signal start to fail some times... can you helpme please to solve this problem,.. thanxs

I personally don't need any resolution above 1080P 30 fps because my mac book pro can barely handle that resolution. Plus have you ever tried watching a 4K video over the web; it takes forever to load. Someone who needs premium priced computing power to edit the video is probably going to be able to afford an extra couple hundred bucks for the better resolution camera. I'm currently in the market for a new quad since my Blade 350 QX has been through several crashes/rebuilds while I learned the ropes; its still trucking over 100 flights later though. If the Phantom 3 Standard came with a 1080P camera and was priced at $700 I'd be all over it.

Phantom 3 advanced has much larger range than Standard, also the video from P3A is being transmitted to the smartphone in 720p, while P3S will give you much lower definition. In my opinion, buy P3A. It's much better, has more advanced controller with more options and has 2.7k camera vs 1080p on Standard.

It seems DJI is willing to disrupt it's own product line in order to fight the increasing competition - upcoming Lili Camera, etc. I'm glad I never bought the Advanced version, those people where cheated. Next year, maybe I'll purchase a quad copter.
great video...i will have say honestly i choose the q500 4k on very carefully doing research and calling all the many manufacturing companies that make these drones and traveling too many hobby shops all over my area just like to say I've been in this hobby for over 20 years and I'll have to say this hands down right out of the box with the best Customer Service I actually had the opportunity to talk to some of the engineers that design the quad copter when flying the Q 500 4K during the daytime it's very easy to see because of the color it doesn't blend in with the sky unlike the DJI or The Horizon Hobby chroma the q500 4k from does not use proprietary battery connections that way I can use my aftermarket chargers to charge the batteries Customer Service from unique that speak English no offense to anyone are right there a phone call away and you can easily direct you to one of the engineers that actually make the quad copters bear in mind this is an engineering company / aeronautical company so they're very in tune to these particular types of quadcopters etc... I will have to say this due to the fact I own a couple of 4k TVs and I have an OLED picture quality on the unique Q 500 4k the video is more is more than enough it also supports the uncompressed raw 4k video and the new not well known 16 by 10 format which is used by either nerds or folks in other countries or people that have the lucky to own some of the super wide 4k televisions so the resolution on the unique q 500 4k hands down has the best video out there. all of the still pictures listed in the video are more than enough for the average and semi advanced people that are interested in taking still pictures. 1 - customer service by yuneeq are better than hands down I think and all the companies I'll talk to you all the other companies DJI has zero customer service,horizon hobbies there a little bit better .But the folks that make up the yuneeq q500 4k and 500 are hands down extremely nice very patient and will answer all of your technical questions and then some....nice long conversation with tech support and the actual designers and engineers that make the quad copters.2- size the 500 and q500 4k are big very easy to fly and be seen 3- safety features such as a two mile range right out of the box without needing a computer you can not fly the drone near Airport military bases it will simply tell you you are in a no fly zone and you can not fly it it will not fly you do not have to register these particular types of quadcopters unless you are possibly using it for real estate purposes so forget about the silly stuff that you've been seeing on the television forget about it4- no cell phone or tablet needed to fly your drone it comes with a five and a half full color inch screen built right into the actual controller5- for price at about 11 to 12 maybe 1300 bucks you can easily get two batteries a huge case to carry it in the 4k camera the drone the controller and the steady group device which is pretty awesome so depending on where you buy it from I suggest you may be going to a real hobby shop and go see it first and see how you like it so all around for just around 12 maybe 1300 bucks you can have yourself an amazing quadcopter that simply in my opinion beats up and destroys all the other ones that are out there I have voted quadcopter of the year.6- it also comes with a 6 month warranty that is definitely different than all the other companies that are out there.7- no laptop or computer needed to fly when you first get it you simply charge it up look for a safe place to fly it and have fun what I mean by this is no programming or downloading software or any of these other things that you have to do with some of the other companies in particular DJI.

Firstly why don't all models have rotor guards and why don't all models have no transmitter which sends signals to base station in case it flew off course or crashes in to a tree or a structures like a building or an electricity pylon. I am sure DJI must have a valid explanation which we all would like to hear. If these very important item is available than I might just buy their product.
Thanks for the detailed comprehensive advice. I am still concerned about the venerability of software such as Firmware which can easily get infected or corrupted by bugs if you are using WiFi. How can we overcome this problem.
Overall, the Standard is a great drone. One draw back that is unfortunate tho is the phone mounted holder. It is very wobbly and is not big enough to hold a tablet. Whats better standard or advance as the standard has 2.7k and advance has 1920p but standard doesnt have lightbridge
The advanced because it had a software update for the camera to 2.7k video but they still advertise it as 1080 even though it's not

Overall, the Standard is a great drone. One draw back that is unfortunate tho is the phone mounted holder. It is very wobbly and is not big enough to hold a tablet. No Glonass is a non negotiable. Do they make a Phantom with no camera but has bottom ground lock sensors?
