As a kid, I always assumed this was just another Steve Miller Band song I didn't know the name to. Was so glad to find it later in life, and yeah-- it's funky as hell! Love it! Love your reactions!
This is nice , the drummer PIM KOOPMAN lived across the street, where i lived, in Bussum, Holland. Nice friendly guy, verry talented. He used to play in a rockband called KAYAK. He had two verry beautiful sisters too😁😁 Fun reaction 👍👊
This band sounds so close to the Steve Miller band (meant as a compliment) Miller Band had been enjoying a string of hits at that time, and for the first couple listens thought this was the next in that line. (PS...I do still have the 45 single.)
Both solos are actually guitars...the first one has an effect that gives it that sound..you can see them do it live if you want to check it out..I always enjoy your vids Harri .cheers man
I was going to request this one from you Harri I am so Happy that I did a search and found out you already covered it I should have known, considering your one of the only reactors to reach out and do many Genre and Request and not the same old same old. God Bless Mate and Cheers🍺🍺
I only became aware of this band recently through a RUclipsr to whom I subscribe. My immediate reaction regarding this track was the same: it sounds just like Steve Miller Band. Apparently, for the last 40-some years, it had left that impression on many people. All over RUclips, there are comments by people who swore it was Steve Miller and were frustrated that they never could find it in his catalog. The thing is that nothing else on that album had the same sound; in fact, no two tracks sounded alike. The band was just going for an American and British rock sound. One can hear influences of bands such as Styx, Boston, Foreigner, and Led Zeppelin on other tracks.
I used to roller skate to this jam back in 1981...ah, the sweet memories 😊
What a guitar riff. Always enjoyed this song.
Another example of why the 1980s may have been the most fun and unique era for popular music.
Shortly after this the music got very boring 😴
Enjoyed your reaction, Harri! For any listeners who fail as miserably as I do getting that riff unstuck from their heads, I apologize.
Good one brother!

Harri, one of the great one-hit wonders!!! Great riff indeed! 1981

I absolutely love this song!
Great song that I never hear on the radio anymore.
great song, excellent commentary. It's nice that relatively forgotten gems like this are finally getting a well-deserved comeback.

Yes mr.musicanalyzer , that's the kind of bands we had in the netherland by then. Nice to see it totally surprised you.
On of my favourites Harry.😻
Great Dutch band
Not to be confused with
Johnny Diesel from Australia
This was the best era for music....
This is the perfect example of ....Cookin'.
The best Steve Miller Band song they never made
Great track to react to!
Great bass line. I’ve always loved this song. W-A-A-A-A-Y Fun! I love the line “We oughta dump her in the Bay!”
Great song from the netherlands
1981!! Diesel is a Holland Band!
Sausalito is a city in Marin County, California.
The song is packed with references to places in California along the west coast.
I never understood why this only peaked at 25 on billboards hot 100 its top ten at the very least
funny that the 70's would produce a trendy disco one hit wonder that actally had talented musicianship
...a Rambler with whirlpool in the tank...
Actually, it’s wormhole.
I would have sworn this was Steve Miller when it first came out. Still sounds like him to me.
