Haha! I highly recommend reading the original trilogy by Rainbow Rowell in this case :DD It's a subversion of the Chosen One trope as well as the love triangle trope. It's full of incredibly lovable characters, I'm sure you'd like it! (the first book is called "Carry On" :)))

YESSSSSSSSS! My fave is def the second book personally. LOVE the symbolism of starting it with the epilogue and ending it with the prologue. The humor and the angst was hmmmm and the introduction of Shepard
Okay I absolutely LOVED the first book, my teacher introduced it to the class, decided to check it out and I was actually invested in it. It was interesting and slow at first but got more exciting when Baz finally came in the picture. The ending was perfect and sweet ahfhdhshsh the prom 😭 SPOILERS AHEAD!!! Second book, roller coaster of emotions but the whole trip to America and their dynamics and the magical creatures and people they meet along the way was enjoyable. It felt a bit rushed and I didn't like how it ended on a cliff hanger, but I love their adventures. Also their relationship issues and Baz trying his best but UGHHH THE communication issues were making me tear my scalp apart. The third book was nice, I'm glad Simon found his family but omg the plot twist and the sweet nickname. It's been like several months since I read it but I remember in the first book Baz's mother still missed her son and cried for him, I forgot the nickname but it was "my sweet ___" something I don't remember. I think in the 2nd or third book Baz uses this nickname towards Simon (or the other way around) nd omg it was so sweet but sad. I think they'd be around 40 years old if they get to meet Baz' mother again :( Ahem anwyays the third book again... with the magical goats and stuff-- agatha and niamh don't get me wrong I find them cute but it just felt rushed and a bit forced imo. But anwyays I'm glad Simon found his biological family so casually after pulling the sword lmao. This comment is a mess but I love Simon snow and Baz pitch. Simon is literally that trope I saw somewhere of a hero after a journey gaining weight I'm glad he's happier now
