Is this the real reason the Cleveland Browns kept 4 QBs and only 2 RBs on the initial 53-man roster?

- The Cleveland Browns kept 4 quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster. It appears that General Manager Andrew Berry thinks he's got some trade value in Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley, so he's willing to listen to offers. Dorian-Thompson Robinson appears to be QB2. The Browns also only kept 2 running backs after cutting D'Onta Forman, so what's the plan in the backfield before Nick Chubb returns?
The Browns officially announced their initial 53-man roster heading into the 2024 season.
The 53-man roster showcases strong continuity on defense and special teams from the 2023 season and a number of pass-catching threats for the offense, along with depth at quarterback.
Defensively, the Browns returned key pieces of their front seven and their secondary. 21 of the 26 total defensive players are returning from last year's roster, which featured one of the top defenses in the league for the 2023 season - leading the league in several categories including total defense, passing defense, third down percentage and first downs allowed.
Offensively, the Browns are rostering four quarterbacks, keeping Tyler Huntley, Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Jameis Winston as viable options behind starting QB Deshaun Watson. They also boast a deep receiving corps with six wide receivers, including rookie Jamari Thrash who excelled during the preseason, as well as two pass-catching threats in tight ends David Njoku and Jordan Akins.
Special teams kept their consistency from 2023, with the extensions of Dustin Hopkins and re-signing of P Corey Bojorquez in the offseason. Hopkins converted 33 of 36 field goals in 2023, including four game-winning field goals. Bojorquez set the single season Browns record for punt average in 2023 with 49.4 yards, breaking his own record that he had set the year before in 2022.
The Browns can make additional roster moves in the coming days via waiver claims and free agent signings. They'll also look to construct a 16-man practice squad, a group of players that play a vital role throughout the season and serve as an additional layer of depth in the event of injuries on the active roster.

12:18 Bell is a complimentary WR. He has good hands. He runs good routes. He finds the soft spot in zone defenses. A QB's passer rating when he is targeted is 104. His drop rate is a low 4%. He has an excellent YAC of 5.2 yards. Of his 14 catches last year, 9 resulted in first downs, and 3 in TDs. In other words, only 2 of his 14 catches didn't result in a first down or TD. I think the argument could be made he should play more rather than less.
Maybe they know more then they are saying about DW's shoulder...
DeShaun is always hurt
Fact!
Always??? It’s the same injury he had in week 3. Is was not a new injury
@@onestopfundingsolutionsllc2623 maybe it's damaged goods
Either hurt, suspended, or just sucks when he does play
@@anthonypa80457 more day bro enjoy I hope you got the nutsack to say that your wrong but probably not.enjoy
the disconnect on the grilled cheese is hilarious
He destroyed his shoulder 10 months ago. I doubt it's all the way healed.
he was trash before the injury anyways. if anything that hit knocked some talent back into him.
I am soooooo tired of "is deshaun ready to play blah blah blah. Bench him and call it a loss. He is not a team player it seems.
Agree, he has not even been a average qb when healthy.
We need to find out about Mr. Watson this year. It is ALL ON HIM!
David Bell is on the roster because cutting 2 3rd rounders is a bad look
Berry is the worst GM when it comes to draft picks and deshaun watson. Smh
Naw
One could argue it is a good look, actually. Mark Cuban has said that one of the best things to do in business is to fire people early, rather than later. His reasoning is that you usually know that person isn't a fit pretty early, so there's no point in trying to keep them around when chances are they are what they are. I'd rather Berry free up a roster spot for one of those random FA finds than keep a guy just because he drafted him.
Nah, bell is on the roster because his skill set he provides as a 5th 6th reciever is more useful during games than woods or whomever you wanted to keep instead of him
@@anthonypa8045the worst 😂
Would be terrible if there was another mystery injury to Watson
Unless three first rounds back, keep quarterback Huntley and play three quarterback every snap
Where can a guy get that Browns Solo Cup shirt?
CLE clothing company or gv art and design
Well, if a team like Minnesota and Baltimore both want Huntley, couldn't you try to convince BAL to give you a pick since they'd be lower on the waiver to pick him up?
We really gotta stop assuming the worse man
Why? It’s the Browns.

@onlyonezay419 eh. He's not wrong. As a Browns fan since the late 80s I've been conditioned by the team, not the other way around. It's. Complicated though. At the same time I always have hope. I wouldn't watch every snap of every game if I didn't. A nice doom and gloom and hope cocktail
@@ryanhyatt9401 I have been a fan since 1960 when I was 6. I don’t even live in Cleveland anymore and haven’t for more than 40 years. I still want to see them make it to a Super Bowl but I have given up putting too much emotion in them. It’s not healthy. You are just setting yourself up for another year of disappointment.
Because the Browns have Deshawn Watson, they can play with one RB on the team since he can run like a deer with no fear, especially Watson can’t throw the ball anymore
Remember Deshawn Watson has a sore arm because he is not playing, so he calls the shots in cleveland, the coach says he is playing in the preseason, and Watson say I am NOT , kept four quarterbacks and may sign a fifth quarterback
Actually it’s the other way around goofy
They’re not going to keep 4 QBs on the roster. You carry 3 and keep one on practice squad. If you go three QBS deep in a season you’re going to make other moves like Flacco last season.
Man I wish flacco was the qb. I would have a lot more confidence in the team
Where can you get that Browns Solo Cup Shirt?
David Bell is the embodiment of a mediocre Cleveland BROWNS wide receiver. and it's for this reason most BROWNS fans (and front office) adore him. no words, no flash, no production. (he also looks like a young Peabo Bryson😅)
Forman stay's hurt Too Much! The same problem he has always had.
They must be talking about releasing deshaun. They might just want to pay him to leave the building. Id say trade him, but no team or gm would waste a roster spot on this bum.
Definitely saving this thank you
