Well it’s not at all surprising that they’ve hooked up fast, since they’ve both had an attraction towards each other since the very beginning. Considering that Meredith had already met Nick before Hayes, and instantly felt an attraction towards him, hence her stating that he was “hot and made her feel a certain way she hadn’t felt since Derek’s death.” As for me, I’ve loved Nick since their first encounter, they had STRONG chemistry and we’re already learning more of him, and this episode proves it.
Nick and Meredith had a connection they first time they met, back in season 14. She even tells Alex at the end of that episode that meeting Nick makes her think there could be someone after Derek. if she hadn't met Nick she likely wouldn't have been ready for Nathan, or Andrew, or Hayes. It's actually really fitting that they came back to one another. Also worth remembering that as Nick's surgeon she would have had post op appointments plus his recovery time in hospital. There would have been more than just what we saw in the episode.
I mean I get the attraction since first time, but as I say as a character he's only been Meredith's love interest, nothing else, nothing for us to love him besides his relationship with Meredith, that's why I personally believe it's been too fast, nothing else for us to understand why they seem to be falling in love, or at least Meredith.

I don't really think it is Meredith's fault or Bailey's. They frequently have people who apply to the programme just to work with a certain doctor. Quadri joined to work with Meredith, Helm had a massive crush on Meredith and was totally obsessed with her. the other doctors have all had someone join just to work with them. So joining to work with a certain doctor isn't unheard of
This isn’t Meredith or Baileys fault, lots of residents move to Seattle to work with Meredith or Richard and they go there specifically for them yet nothing happened. Miranda didn’t see any signs because there wasn’t any, this was just a student teacher relationship and it shouldn’t be blamed on Bailey or grey

From the moment this guy walked into this show I knew this was coming lol. This is funny I love it reminds me of Bailey and the nurse and Warren way back when. Bailey's face is like Dr. Charles in Chicago med when his shrink told him she had feelings for him 🙈poor guy must was asking the ground to open up and take him. I don't see it like that at all. Derek was a bit more charismatic while Nick is a bit more quiet and serious in his mannerisms. I do love the both of them and feel they are different enough in their characteristics to not be too closely alike. Plus Derek had WAY bigger hair!

She literally has a conversation with Zola in the episode. All her kids are school aged. We don't see them at school but we assume they go. And from a production perspective there are really tight restrictions on child actors and covid measures etc so lots of shows are limiting the amount of time children are on screen or on set. And why just pick on Meredith? Amelia is also a mum working the same hours and travel.

Right before Mer goes to talk to Zola who is watching videos of Ellis. Ellis left Mer to grow up in an empty house all alone and put her sister up for adoption. I contrast Meredith adopted a child, then gave her siblings and filled her house full of family or surrogate aunts and uncles.

And what does going to spend time with your boyfriend have to do with ground breaking surgery? That's why Cristina chose not to have kids becsuse she knew her career would always come first. If I lost my dad, and I barely saw my mom I would be pretty upset if she had some free time and she jumped on a plane to spend her free time with her boyfriend instead of me and my siblings.
I thought the episode showed more parallels of Zola being the next Ellis. Zola certainly seems to be a bigger fan of watching her tapes. And isn't Meredith doing the opposite to Ellis. After Richard leaving and Maggie being born she shut herself off from everyone, even her remaining daughter. In contrast Meredith is choosing to surround herself with family and is open to new relationships.

Sorry for the novel, and if it doesn't make any lick of sense, but yeah.... There are literally zero ideas the writers have came up with that hasn't been done by better shows with less seasons than this. Saw this scene since he was introduced, and honestly they just want something. Literally picking at straws at this point in the game, and this is why Grey's needs to end. Let it go. We have earlier seasons to look forward to. Don't get me wrong, there some nice episodes from the most recent seasons, but even from those, most are bad IMO. I've been mostly binging from the pilot up to season 14, because that's where i believe Grey's was great. Alex leaving was the last straw and i wanted to quit, but had to tolerate it for Meredith. But even with her as the last bastion Of MAGIC just doesn't sit well with me anymore. That and her "magic" wore off a long time ago. Can't say where though because i don't know. Might've need to look into that a bit more. Didn't want Maggie to be an Ellis clone, but I guess "we wanted" diversity, and so we got it. Wasted potential there. Amelia isn't any better. Using her addiction and indecisiveness due to insecurity and the like as a crutch to literally any and everything she has come into contact with is not a very appealing storyline. I know several real life addicts that have grown over their indecisiveness and gotten better for it. Giving her that for the better part of a decade and a half is either putting her in a plateau or regressing, or both which makes no sense, but hey, that's the character for you. That and it's unfair for the viewers. And to top it off, if she "grows" out of that with a "Non-binary" character is just not worth sticking around for. I'm sorry but putting a Non-binary character for the sake of putting a Non-binary character on screen isn't called diversity. Forced, all the way, but not diversity. And putting Amelia in that particular storyline when you could have done that with Link several seasons ago, is downright lazy. And if you couldn't help Amelia "grow" by pairing her off with a Non-binary, then God help us all.
I actually like Maggie I just think she's been wrongly utilized, and now she has literally the perfect husband so aside from her medicine she's just there relegated to being Meredith and Amelia's support person, which is lame. Amelia's character arc made sense.... up until she rejected literally the most perfect man on the face of the earth (seriously, no woman or gay man in their right mind on the planet would say no to Chris Carmack as Atticus Lincoln) and tried to gaslight him into thinking it was his fault. She didn't have theballs to come out and say she's not ready for commitment and admit she saddled him with a baby that she didn't want to raise with him. Prior to that her resolution with her mother, if not her bitchy family, with Meredith, and her growth as a parent through the Betty storyline made sense, and the moment when she heard Link say that he loved her no matter whose baby it was was supposed to finally be the moment where she felt safe and loved and accepted and healed enough to be stable. Meredith's love story with the widowed Irishman was something ALL the fans were 100% behind as they had mad chemistry on screen, his backstory and his character were perfectly suited to hers, and he was a strong, but not overbearing personality that was cautious, slow, honourable, did things right and didn't get himself into bitchboy messes like Owen. And they just threw that out the window for NO reason and with NO explanation. I love Scott SPeedman but his character was just unnecessary and now they are trapped with having to write some way for him to either come to Seattle or a reason for Meredith to keep going to Minneapolis. I am full supportive of the trans community but I have yet to meet anyone that convinced me that 'non-binary' is a actual thing. That is a debate not for the youtube comment boards, and I'm open to convincing in real life, but even within the trans community there is huge backlash as FTM and MTF trans people often resent the lumped in inclusion as they are vocal about being definitively MALE or FEMALE. And the show already has a GREAT trans character with Dr Parker, who between his military background, trans identity and hacker computer skills, is super interesting and they haven't used him enough, would love more stories with him in it. Kai ended up being like Scott Speedman - totally unnecessary and superfluous. I have stuck with Grey's through thick and thin but the show really lost me with how they wrote out Alex - he would NEVER leave Jo with nothing but a letter, not after all his character growth and CERTAINLY not knowing she was abandoned by her mother and how badly that would affected her. So yeah, I am 100% in agreement with your post that Grey's has past its expiration date and needs to end. Because it's gotten bad. Really really bad.
You do realize that E.R Fightmaster who plays Kai is actually non-binary right? So, really I'm sure Kai written in to be non-binary was just a way to respect that E.R's real life pronouns. So really, do you hate that there is a non-binary on the show or do you just not like non-binary people? And from what I heard, Alex being written off wasn't a choice, he didn't show up for filming. So they had to do something. What did you expect them to do? and yes we did want diversity. As Richard & Meredith both said, Maggie was the best of Ellis & Richard's problematic relationship. I do however hope Link & Amelia get back together, but I think this is what they both need. Focus on themselves, realize they are meant to be together, then they will get back together.

I really like Nick as a human being (yes I know he's a character) I mean all in all he seems a good dude, but it seems like there's a constant gravity of taking her away from the kids to be with him, not just when she's otherwise out of town. And we haven't seen that same commitment for him to gravitate towards her life. It might be to protect the kids, but Mer has had boyfriends in their lives since Derrick hasn't she?

I mean everyone knew this was coming, yet i still hoped shonda may come up with an original idea and for once show that a pure platonic relationship can happen in this hospital without turning into a fling or a complete disaster, greys just likes to ruin each friendship or interesting pairing by either, i wished they can show how fun a relationship like this can be, i was really liking their interest and conversations, especially since im so used to bailey being a sad bitch and here she was happy for once, but no shonda had to ruin it.

When does Meredith see her kids when she’s at the hospital or in other states
She literally has a conversation with Zola in the episode. All her kids are school aged. We don't see them at school but we assume they go.
And from a production perspective there are really tight restrictions on child actors and covid measures etc so lots of shows are limiting the amount of time children are on screen or on set.
And why just pick on Meredith? Amelia is also a mum working the same hours and travel.

@@raephaelemasirnille5794 in this episode they have a whole scene at the house where they talk about how Maggie is looking after the kids and how Meredith will return the favour when she and Winston has children. Right before Mer goes to talk to Zola who is watching videos of Ellis.
Ellis left Mer to grow up in an empty house all alone and put her sister up for adoption. I contrast Meredith adopted a child, then gave her siblings and filled her house full of family or surrogate aunts and uncles.

And what does going to spend time with your boyfriend have to do with ground breaking surgery? That's why Cristina chose not to have kids becsuse she knew her career would always come first. If I lost my dad, and I barely saw my mom I would be pretty upset if she had some free time and she jumped on a plane to spend her free time with her boyfriend instead of me and my siblings.

I thought the episode showed more parallels of Zola being the next Ellis. Zola certainly seems to be a bigger fan of watching her tapes.
And isn't Meredith doing the opposite to Ellis. After Richard leaving and Maggie being born she shut herself off from everyone, even her remaining daughter. In contrast Meredith is choosing to surround herself with family and is open to new relationships.
If your takeaway is that Meredith is like Ellis I'm afraid you need a rewatch, maybe two

Sorry for the novel, and if it doesn't make any lick of sense, but yeah....
There are literally zero ideas the writers have came up with that hasn't been done by better shows with less seasons than this. Saw this scene since he was introduced, and honestly they just want something. Literally picking at straws at this point in the game, and this is why Grey's needs to end.
Let it go. We have earlier seasons to look forward to. Don't get me wrong, there some nice episodes from the most recent seasons, but even from those, most are bad IMO. I've been mostly binging from the pilot up to season 14, because that's where i believe Grey's was great.
Alex leaving was the last straw and i wanted to quit, but had to tolerate it for Meredith. But even with her as the last bastion Of MAGIC just doesn't sit well with me anymore. That and her "magic" wore off a long time ago. Can't say where though because i don't know. Might've need to look into that a bit more.
Didn't want Maggie to be an Ellis clone, but I guess "we wanted" diversity, and so we got it. Wasted potential there. Amelia isn't any better. Using her addiction and indecisiveness due to insecurity and the like as a crutch to literally any and everything she has come into contact with is not a very appealing storyline. I know several real life addicts that have grown over their indecisiveness and gotten better for it. Giving her that for the better part of a decade and a half is either putting her in a plateau or regressing, or both which makes no sense, but hey, that's the character for you. That and it's unfair for the viewers.
And to top it off, if she "grows" out of that with a "Non-binary" character is just not worth sticking around for. I'm sorry but putting a Non-binary character for the sake of putting a Non-binary character on screen isn't called diversity. Forced, all the way, but not diversity. And putting Amelia in that particular storyline when you could have done that with Link several seasons ago, is downright lazy. And if you couldn't help Amelia "grow" by pairing her off with a Non-binary, then God help us all.
I actually like Maggie I just think she's been wrongly utilized, and now she has literally the perfect husband so aside from her medicine she's just there relegated to being Meredith and Amelia's support person, which is lame.
Amelia's character arc made sense.... up until she rejected literally the most perfect man on the face of the earth (seriously, no woman or gay man in their right mind on the planet would say no to Chris Carmack as Atticus Lincoln) and tried to gaslight him into thinking it was his fault. She didn't have theballs to come out and say she's not ready for commitment and admit she saddled him with a baby that she didn't want to raise with him. Prior to that her resolution with her mother, if not her bitchy family, with Meredith, and her growth as a parent through the Betty storyline made sense, and the moment when she heard Link say that he loved her no matter whose baby it was was supposed to finally be the moment where she felt safe and loved and accepted and healed enough to be stable.
Meredith's love story with the widowed Irishman was something ALL the fans were 100% behind as they had mad chemistry on screen, his backstory and his character were perfectly suited to hers, and he was a strong, but not overbearing personality that was cautious, slow, honourable, did things right and didn't get himself into bitchboy messes like Owen. And they just threw that out the window for NO reason and with NO explanation. I love Scott SPeedman but his character was just unnecessary and now they are trapped with having to write some way for him to either come to Seattle or a reason for Meredith to keep going to Minneapolis.
I am full supportive of the trans community but I have yet to meet anyone that convinced me that 'non-binary' is a actual thing. That is a debate not for the youtube comment boards, and I'm open to convincing in real life, but even within the trans community there is huge backlash as FTM and MTF trans people often resent the lumped in inclusion as they are vocal about being definitively MALE or FEMALE. And the show already has a GREAT trans character with Dr Parker, who between his military background, trans identity and hacker computer skills, is super interesting and they haven't used him enough, would love more stories with him in it. Kai ended up being like Scott Speedman - totally unnecessary and superfluous.
I have stuck with Grey's through thick and thin but the show really lost me with how they wrote out Alex - he would NEVER leave Jo with nothing but a letter, not after all his character growth and CERTAINLY not knowing she was abandoned by her mother and how badly that would affected her. So yeah, I am 100% in agreement with your post that Grey's has past its expiration date and needs to end. Because it's gotten bad. Really really bad.

You do realize that E.R Fightmaster who plays Kai is actually non-binary right? So, really I'm sure Kai written in to be non-binary was just a way to respect that E.R's real life pronouns. So really, do you hate that there is a non-binary on the show or do you just not like non-binary people?
And from what I heard, Alex being written off wasn't a choice, he didn't show up for filming. So they had to do something. What did you expect them to do? and yes we did want diversity. As Richard & Meredith both said, Maggie was the best of Ellis & Richard's problematic relationship.
I do however hope Link & Amelia get back together, but I think this is what they both need. Focus on themselves, realize they are meant to be together, then they will get back together.

I really like Nick as a human being (yes I know he's a character) I mean all in all he seems a good dude, but it seems like there's a constant gravity of taking her away from the kids to be with him, not just when she's otherwise out of town. And we haven't seen that same commitment for him to gravitate towards her life. It might be to protect the kids, but Mer has had boyfriends in their lives since Derrick hasn't she?
