I don’t know about past but I really like when Ramiz,Ravi shastri ,Sunil gavaskar and Wasim Akram doing commentary together.some of England and Australia commentators are also good,there understanding of game is very appealing.

Hindi commentators shud take some tips here...do not speak when the ball is about to deliver...Akash chopra saying ye ball toh bouncer hoga when the bowler is in his run up... next over prediction, wicket alert.... all that is so irritating..y dont u just keep it simple.
Well you have to understand.. Usually people who prefer Hindi commentary are either those who don't know English OR those who like a bit of masaledar commentary. Now in order to make commentary masaledar, you have to chirp more, as if buddies are having fun together..Eg- Navjot Singh Sidhu and Paddy Sehrawat..And there's nothing wrong in it, it's just equivalent to choosing a masaledar Indian cuisine or Continental cuisine.. So the choice is yours, if you want a to the point commentary, I would suggest you go for English commentary, but if you want to have fun also, then choose Hindi commentary..

Wasim and Waqar are frankly my best commentators in recent times. Mr Sehwag, Kevin Petersen and Geoffrey Boycott, Mr Gavaskar are all in that same good category. They talk common sense and don’t sound artificial. They also have awareness in when to talk and when to be quiet. While Mr Sidhu is an amazing entertainer, constantly passing 1 liners obnoxiously loud is a bit annoying in commentary. If a commentator is artificial or too loud or a kiss ass they will fizzle out. Simple philosophy - situational awareness, speak the truth, say things that we can learn from, and laugh a bit. Not always serious, dont be a jerk, don’t sound like a robot. I miss Geoffrey Boycott 😢
