I am visiting the Dominican Republic right now, there are places where I genuinely felt like I was in Haiti instead, and you can tell the vast majority of them are here illegally. Dominicans need to take care of their country and people first.

DR is actually using illegal Haitian labor in almost every economic sector, so is obvious that Dominicans are putting themselves first. The problem is that the government isn't making investments in the public sector (the one that impacts the most the middle and poorer class population). Still, the majority of the investment goes to the private sector and old rich families in DR. Haitians have a severe problem in their country and DR is just making fake deportations, to make them pay blackouts from the corrupt government officials. This is a never-ending story with only the poor and vulnerable people of both countries paying the highest price.
I hope this helps you to understand.

Public hospitals are full of illegal haitians for free, the schools of haitian kids with no documentation, thousands of Dominicans kids weren’t able to enter schools because of that, not enough schools for them. It’s ridiculous. There are many places in DR where you barely see ethnic Dominican people.

“Why are they deporting undocumented immigrants?” Because they are breaking the law, when you are undocumented you have no rights to be in that country. That’s why. It’s 4 million Haitians in the Dominican Republic. The DR doesn’t have the resources to take care of so many undocumented immigrants. When are you going to ask the Haitian government when are they going to start taking care of their own people? That’s the question you hace to be asking.

DR has the right to deport illegal immigrants that represent a burden to the state and that is affecting the services that Dominican citizens are getting in schools and hospitals, DR is not a rich country and can not take this burden anymore, Haiti is responsible for their people, not the DR, If I am an illegal immigrant in the USA or Europe I get deported no questions asked DR has to defend its borders and resources, the international community has to help Haiti, there is not a Dominican solution for the Haitian crisis period If you don't like it take 3 or 4 Haitian and move them to your home that way you will understand why DR is dealing with a big problem...

There is no Dominican solution to the Haitian problem. Haiti´s problems must be solved in Haiti, by Haitians, and if they so choose, with the aid of the international community. Let it be known that it is this very international community that has let them down by not walking the talk, choosing instead to force the Dominican Republic into unfairly dealing with a situation which is not its own. It is high time our laws and Constitution were upheld.

My son could not be enrolled in school this year because all the slots were taken by Haitian children. I will have to now pay a private school when I cannot afford it. I have not been able to enroll him and school started a month ago because I am not ready yet Financially to pay a private school.
What is happenning in the Dominican Republic is a travesty. Pregnant Haitians are smuggled into the Dominican Republic and they are dropped off in front of different maternity wards where no beds are available for Dominican women and they are forced to give birth on hospital Floors. This is a poor country without resources for their own citizens mired in corruption, and U.N., and the OAS want the Dominican Republic to grant asylum to Haitians. We have 4 million Haitians already living in the Dominican Republic. The cou try cannot yield to those demands. There is also the fact that most Haitians have no legal documentation from their own country and the ones who come to give birth demand that their children be afforded Dominican Citizenship against Dominican laws.
The crime factor is also wrecking the D.R.

The Dominican Republic has a problem with corruption and human traffic supported by the same Dominican government, high functionaries get enriched, and high CEOs in traditional big DR native businesses are getting immense benefits by using cheap illegal labor, it is even said the construction sector, agricultural sector, and other sectors in DR will fall if all Haitian labor leave the country.
DR does not make any real effort to control illegal immigration from Haiti, because it benefits the upper class, and only hurts the middle class and disadvantaged groups. At the same time, almost all big journalists, celebrities, and communicators are paid by the CEOs and big family names in DR. They are repeating like a parrot the same speech of "DR doesn't want Haitians nor have any responsibility to them" so is just blatant racism and xenophobe promotion.
As these middle and poorer Dominicans listen day in and day out this same rhetoric, is actually influencing a menacing mentality of void nationalism that is hurting deep the Haitian people in DR. I'm Dominican, and it is awful what it has been said every day about Haitians by Dominicans in all digital media.
And of course, accusations of DR legal decisions, like the removal of Dominican citizenship of Dominican groups of Haitian descent, are totally dismissed and rejected and over-explained again and again in Dominican media to make it sound logical.
The Haitian government is stagnant and filthy corrupt and is actually the one that created the Haitian gangs that are displacing people, according to the same Haitians.
Even with all the bad treatment Haitians get in DR, they at least can survive.
The reason why DR doesn't make efforts is because neither the government nor the private sector wants to invest in the improvement of public services or enhance state institutions. It will not make a big profit for them.

On April 7 of 2003, the then president of Haiti, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, began to demand reparations from France. The Haitian president attempted to hold France accountable for its years of exploitation. He soon found himself ousted from power. France and the United States have long said that Aristide's call for restitution had nothing to do with his overthrow, that he had taken an autocratic turn, lost control of the country and was forced into exile to prevent Haiti, already plunged into turmoil, and hurtling toward chaos. But France's ambassador to Haiti at the time, Thierry Burkard, said in an interview that France and the United States had effectively orchestrated "a coup" against Aristide, and that his abrupt dismissal was "probably in part" due to his call to obtain reparations from France too. The chaos is almost the same as what happened in Iraq in the Second Gulf War. They disbanded the army in Iraq and that turned into disorder because all those soldiers started joining different gangs in the country.
