Thank you for this video. After watching the how to load string video and the string didn’t go through. I called Hard 800 number, and I waited to hours (with to 2 calls) the service guy still couldn’t tell me how take off the head part. So thank you very much for helping old lady’s trying to do things on their own.
With effort, I got the head off. This because line was only coming out of one of the two holes. I did two things during re assembly. 1. I used a dry spray silicone rag wipe on the new new line when feeding it on the hub. 2. I used silicone grease on the friction lock on the trimmer head housing and worked it to get the lube spread. Finally, with this experience, future servicing will be done with confidence.
Did you figure it out? Are you saying it's hard to turn after you get the cap off? I posted another video on how to open it if it's difficult to open and how to correct it long-term.
Just bought one from Walmart and the locking and unlocked will not budget either way after being aligned up. Is there's a trick to locking and unlocking it that I might be missing. I paid $158 + taxes and only got to just use the string that came in the string housing when I bought it. Can you help me please?
Sure. This is a common problem and a bad design. Here's a video on how to open the head and modify it so that it'll be easier to open in the future. ruclips.net/video/uNXtOfnku34/видео.html
I replied a minute ago but don't see the response. Here's a video on how to resolve it you're keeping the weedeater. ruclips.net/video/uNXtOfnku34/видео.html
Has anyone had a problem with the blue cap not staying on? Mine will not stay attached and there doesn’t seem to be any way for it to twist into anything.
You may need to press the pieces together while turning. Sometimes if it's not really tight together something gets slightly misaligned and restricts turning. Or open it up and put it together again.
I have a different type of head. It's a Hart 40v 4Ah. I have string stuck under the head. I've pulled the stringer off and I'm left with the shroud but I'm stuck as to what to do next. Help!
@@FixEverythingYourself Thanks for getting back to me. I went to pull the motor cover off below the head to access that area but out of 6 screws 4 are stripped from the factory. I managed to get the line out with a pair of bent hemostats but it keeps getting tangled. It is from Walmart. I saw a video where it was recommended to wrap the line in the opposite direction and it did the same thing. Not sure what to try next.
Try straightening the first few inches of string. The string wants to curl up as soon as you put it into the hole, which makes it difficult to "find" the next hole on the inside. This is usually the problem with feeding the string.
You'll need to use the screwdriver technique I showed at the beginning. And if you have a helper, it's easier to do it. Unfortunately, some of these units are super difficult to open.

Good deal. I also made a video on how to correct the problem permanently if steps like yours don't work. ruclips.net/video/uNXtOfnku34/видео.html

Mine didn’t even come with that blue tool. I have the tiller too! It’s so hard to get it to lock back on.
same here
So i get to where the lines meet up, and it will not turn, any idea why?

This probably isn't the weedeater you have but it's a Walmart weedeater and may be the same type of head: ruclips.net/video/qWVwipqSRIM/видео.html

These are a pain in the ass to open.
Here's a video on how to fix it so it's easier to open in the future. Bad design, though.

Great video! Thanks🤙🤙
Thanks!
Why is so hard to undo it
Don't know. Some are, some aren't. Some folks said they've used a little WD-40 to make it open more easily.
Here's a video on how to fix it. Take a few minutes but it's easy and is worth it if you're stuck with the weedeater.
The string is not going through. Ugg

Mine won’t move , it’s really tight 😢

@@FixEverythingYourself thanks, that’s the first video I watched, unfortunately mine is completely new and it just won’t turn

@@FixEverythingYourself oh I did, but it won’t budge, and I am pretty strong.
@@FixEverythingYourself I returned it and got another one which I was able to open.
Mine won’t move at all so I guess
