Nick momo Says who? It's talking about keyless entry not remote start. Keyless entry doesn't require the key fob to start the engine. Plus, hotwiring is still a thing.
So when i get out my car someone has to be quick enough to run by and put a coin in the handle before i hit the lock button and without me seeing them? 😳
@@thomassmokoff7306 For most cars I've ever owned, perhaps this may allow it to be gotten into, but won't keep the alarm from going off. I have made the mistake of locking my car when I went into a store to grab something, with my wife in the car. She opens the door, from the inside, and the alarm goes off. This is to prevent a car window from being smashed and someone just unlocking the door from the inside. I suspect the same works when opened from the outside, as well.
@@thomassmokoff7306 You can't stop a door from locking that was never unlocked and opened. The back door will just stay locked with a penny stuck in it.
This is so convoluted and contrived.....most car thieves DO NOT go to the extremes suggested by this video. The two biggest reasons cars are stolen or burglarized are 1. A third of all cars are left unlocked. Car thieves know this and simply go around trying car doors...3 out of 10 will be open 2. Valuables are left in plain sight. The 4 best ways to prevent being a car theft victim is: 1. Lock your car 2. Activate the alarm if your car has one 3. Remove all valuables from sight 4. Use a visible steering wheel lock like The Club. Do these four things and your car will NEVER be stolen or broken into because there will be other much easier prey around, and criminals by nature, are lazy
there was a case at a gas station near seattle where someone tried to get in and steal the car as she filled it but she had "the club" behind the seat--she pulled it out and beat him to death with head hits
Michael The ones who are in jail are probably the ones who use ultra convoluted schemes like the ones in the video. Like working at a mechanic dealership and stealing a car. The rest of the people working there will know it was you, they'll have all your tax info, and they'll know exactly what you look like. Trying doorhandles is the smartest way to steal cars, low risk, no need to break in.
I used to live in an apartment and one day a teen girl saw me struggling with groceries and offered to help me bring them in. She seemed nonthreatening. When she came in she saw I hook my keys next to my door. Later that night I walked outside to take the trash to the dumpster. She watched me leave, opened my unlock door, stole my car keys, then waited for me to go back inside, and she drove off with my car. She was caught the next day but I had $3000 worth of damage to my car from her joyride. Now I don’t keep my keys by the front door, I don’t let strangers in my house, and I lock my door even if I am just getting the mail. It’s sad we have to live this way. But as the thieves get smarter we need to as well.
BECAUSE -- if they are crooks enough to engage in car theft, do you think they are going to stop at one wrong? (They've done it before easily enough; they're aren't going to stop with just one theft.) No, they become desperate and could hurt you! You have tripped a safety alarm in their mind and if you stay there, and they know they could get in trouble, they WILL harm you to avoid being caught!
Here in GB many years ago the mechanical petrol (gas) pump failed on my dad's car, I went out to it with an electric pump a switch and wire, then I fitted it independent of the ignition switch just for quickness, about a week later the car was stolen but found about 100 yards away obviously the crooks did not know about the switch, it made me proud of what I had unintentionally done,,
The title of the video leaves you knowing that you should "run and call the police", but not why, prompting you to click on the video and find out. that, by definition, is clickbait. I'm just helping the majority of people get to the part of the video they're here for.
so youre telling me if I see a coin my door handle I run, giving the thief a literal perfect time to just hop in my car, instead of simply taking the coin off?
I got to number 3 and he's already recommended two things that are outright illegal. I'm out. 1) Removable steering wheels are illegal. It's tampering with a safety system(airbag) and legally needs to remain there. 2) You cannot cover the VIN.
i tried number 7, actually worked on my KIA RIO and DAIHATSUN TERIOS, so safe to say, it works, while its locked/open, just pull the handle, put the coin as shown, and lock it, if you have the light set to Door, it shouldn't shut off, it'll stay on, so i suggest you put it on Door
RHYNOSAURUSREX its not illegal to tamper with airbags they dont have to be functional just the seatbelts do there more cars on the road without airbags than with
Coin needs to be there before the driver locks it. If the car is parked and the coin is placed on the handle, the driver will be unlocking it, not locking it.
@@mikeguerrero72 Before lock, after lock, nuh uh. Forgetful minds everywhere. Just each and every time u touch the car, check for the coin. Takes only like 5 seconds. Default habit is the safest one.
So, what I'm getting from this video is that you can't really avoid having your car stolen if someone is determined to steal it. And a good way to look at your car from a distance is through the scope on a high-powered rifle ? (1:33)
Most criminals don’t choose the people they wrong by any criteria other than how soft of a target they are. I’ve had my truck broken into simply because the passenger side door was unable to lock back then. Some fuckhead stole the change from the ash tray, the one scratched up CD I had in my sun visor, slashed my seat and headliner up with a knife, and then tried to yank my radio out before they got chased off by someone who happened by. Only reason they even got in there? It wasn’t locked.
The piece of human garbage who did this only walked away from my truck with about 20 cents in change and a rob zombie CD that hasn’t been readable by a disc player in 10 years, and if he would have got the radio, I bought that brand new at wal-mart for under 30 bucks about five years ago. But then I got stuck with the bill to reupholster my entire interior, and I had to spend about an hour of my time that night re-wiring a radio that some crackhead thought was gonna buy him his next high. End of story: I don’t think most criminals can even think far enough ahead to acquire a target and do any real planning to get away with a crime like grand theft auto.
Ryan Kane Unless you live in California or Las Vegas or Atlanta or places with really big cities because there are some extremly organized people there.
My wife had someone bust a window to steal the factory ford radio in a old expedition (broken into in 2011, the truck was a 1996, 20 year old factory radio)
The police cannot "Serve and Protect" (particularly "protect"!). All they can do is take a few notes after the crime has been committed so, sadly, your observations are the unfortunate truth. Now if you DID plug a car thief in the act, he/she (if they survived) would probably "lawyer-up" and sue you because you did not leave a warning note on the vehicle stating that you would react in a very negative manner if someone attempted to steal it.
Just set your car on fire when you go shopping. NO HUMAN WILL EVER STEAL THAT Edit: over 1k likes, that's crazy! Thank you! So, did anyone try this out already?
DUDE!! Thieves are cowards!! If i went out with an airsoft gun and take it out in front of theives, they will be like: "please!! Spare my life!!! I'm too young to die" Even though he'll be probably like 50 years old
Just fill your car with snakes and never open it except through the sunroof to feed the snakes. The thieves die from snek if they steal it. This method requires you stop using your car though
They don't hav hands or feet, so can't use the steering wheel properly, or the gas/brake peddle. Also, don't worry about the, working together: they all have horrible lisssssssssssps and can't understand each other well enough to quickly collaborate!
Mia Basset atleast they're making more people aware of these techniques and how to stop them, and besides car thieves wouldn't sit around watching RUclips anyway
An easy fix to ensure your car is never stolen is to just carry a knife with you every day and burst your tires when you park the car so that nobody can drive off with it.
Ya that would work perfectly but a new set of tires cost around $800 so if you park your car at 3 other stores it would cost you around $2400 that one day. so i donno Attention there must be a cheaper way.
If You See a Coin In Your Car Door Handle, Run And Call the Police! Me: *Calls police* Police: What's wrong Me: A coin- Police: Are you being robbed? Me: What?! No! So basically, I was on RUclips the other day- Police: *hangs up*
While you're about to leave a parking space of a parking lot. The accomplish of the car thief, will pin a card flyer under your windshield wiper and walks away. As you go outside to pull out the flyer. The car thief jumps inside your car and drives off, with your purse and/or purchased items inside the car. The thief then proceeds to pick up his partner down the road, and they both take off. Don't fall for that trick.
Did this guy fail V/O casting for How It's Made? Next thing you know, John Walsh will be offering a reward for the tip that leads to this channel's arrest.
If you know your car is legally parked, why go out to check at all. #2. Key fobs are transmit only, so how is it supposed to pickup a signal. removing you steering is hard to do with the airbags. #3. Vins can't be moved from one vehicle to another without removing the dash and windshield. No crook is going to do this twice to sell a car and steal it back. #7. The thief first has to locate your vehicle, put a coin in the door handle, then follow you around until you park and lock the car, then they can open the door and steal it. That is a lot of work. And calling a cop because you found a coin and think someone is going to steal your car? What are the cops supposed to do?
Robert Heinkel for #3 the don’t steal the VIN code, they replicate it.Ik that a lot of the ways they steal ur car sound like a lot of work, but some people would actually still do that
#2. It does not exactly work the way he describes it. A receiver picks up the key's code when the victim tries unlocks the car and jamms the signal so the car doesn't pick it up. The car does not unlock. If you press your key again a second time, the receiver does the same thing again, but a transmitter transmits the first code. So the codes that unlock the car are always shifted by one, and the thief has one code to unlock the car. And once you are in the car, depening on your model it is pretty easy to reprogram the car with a new key. And then drive off.
If your house's door do not lock, RUN AND CALL THE POLICE! There is a possibility that a theif put a coin in the second side of the door, and you think that it's locked but it ISN'T! A thief can get inside your house! (Although the fact that the thief should to be INSIDE the house to put a coin)
I drove around Houston for years in a pickup that you could only lock from the inside. So when you got out at a store, the door was unlocked. I would often park next to a dining facility and walk to my office about a block away without locking either door. There was usually about $200 work of tools under the seat in the pickup. Sometimes when I went out to my pickup after or during a rain, I would find clear signs that employees from the dining facility had sat in my pickup to get out of the rain while waiting for their ride home. This was obvious because the cigarette butts in the ash tray were a different brand from mine. Nothing was ever stolen from the pickup when parked like this.
how do they manage to put the coin in the handle before you lock it? Get out of car . Lock car . Walk away ... i might notice someone stood next to my car putting a coin in the handle while im getting out .
banana banana He did mention that the person locks the car with a remote. The ideal situation for this to happen is that most people don't instantly lock their doors if they have a remote. Imagine you get out of the car, walk towards the store, get like 15 ft away, turn around, and lock your doors. Nearby thieves notice that the door didn't instantly beep. That indicates you didn't lock your door, and this leaves them a few seconds to put the penny into your door. Back door, passenger door, drivers door. Anywhere. We never know truly how close a thief can be, or how often this happens. We might never actually hear about it often, but that doesn't stop the fact that this is an actual scenario that does take place.
a coin stopping a handle from locking, when the locking mechanism is inside the door panel? Impossible. the locking mechanism in cars are INSIDE the door, not on the door handle. you can freely pull the door handles all you want when they are locked but it will not open the door.
Also, on many cars (If not all with electronic locks) if there is any single door that is not fully and completely latched/closed properly, when I hit the "lock" button on my FOB, the vehicle emits a high-pitched beep that stays in continuously until the "unlock" button on the FOB is pressed. If all doors are latched and closed properly, you will hear 1 distinct beep indicating the locks have been engaged properly (2 beeps if unlock button on the FOB is pressed).
I'm not trying to make fun of this video but . Me: *sees penny in door handle* *calls police* police : 911 what's ur emergency? Me: I saw A PENNY IN MY CAR DOOR HANDLE!!! police : why did you call us for that?! Me: Beacause RUclips told me to!!!
Many cars will give a different response than normal if you try to lock it with a door not closed or handle propped up with a coin. A car's VIN is in many more places than just on the dash, sometimes even in secret locations in the frame.
I doubt any of these will work. Gee, come out to your car after grocery shopping and you are going to be carjacked. For sure. 100% certainty. This has happened to you EVERY time you have come out to your car, right? If that happens once a year... well, I can't seem to find any news reports about this happening so..... And the penny? The doors on my Hyundai, Dodge, Saturn, and Toyota all still lock. OK, wife and son's cars included in that.
If you ever see a paper on your window and don't notice it till after you get in the car don't get out to take it off because this is when the thief gets in your car and drives off.
This morning, I did the coin thing to my 2017 Hyundai Elantra. I unlocked it, stuck a coin in, got in the car with the proximity key on me, it welcomed me acknowledging that I have entered, then I stepped out and locked it and heard it and tested all the doors and all 4 were locked. Trick doesn't work at least on a 2017 Hyundai Elantra.
*Calls police* Officer: 911, what’s your emergency? Me: There’s a coin in my car handle! Officer: stay calm and step away from your vehicle. A SWAT team is on their way to your location!
Wouldn't the coin have to be inserted before the driver locks the car? That'd be a bit obvious. In any case, I always check the doors are locked before I leave, just to be on the safe side.

Do these four things and your car will NEVER be stolen or broken into because there will be other much easier prey around, and criminals by nature, are lazy
Not all criminals are lazy tho the lazy ones are in jail
there was a case at a gas station near seattle where someone tried to get in and steal the car as she filled it but she had "the club" behind the seat--she pulled it out and beat him to death with head hits
Michael Sorono All criminals go to jail, only variable is when or how mutch they stay in there.
So is it a third or 3 out of 10?
Pro tip: Watch on 1.25 speed because this guy talks ridiculously slow.

If you see a Bright Side video in your RUclips recommendations, run and call the police.
LOL!
Okay Im on it, this was in my recommended
Heather McFarland oh no
Heather McFarland 😱
Heather McFarland 😰
Did she get arrested or something? Or did YOU have the pay the damages?
*gets smarter
If you see a BRIGHT SIDE video flag it and call the police
EKINOY why doesn't this have more likes??🤣
EKINOY xd
Why
If you don't like it, don't watch it
Hilarious!!
Why would you run and call the police? Sure run away and give the thief time to steal the car.
Alex Monckton hahaha
BECAUSE -- if they are crooks enough to engage in car theft, do you think they are going to stop at one wrong? (They've done it before easily enough; they're aren't going to stop with just one theft.) No, they become desperate and could hurt you! You have tripped a safety alarm in their mind and if you stay there, and they know they could get in trouble, they WILL harm you to avoid being caught!
And then the police will get then.
Alex Monckton are you that rich?
black tryke no I just don't live in America XD
Here in GB many years ago the mechanical petrol (gas) pump failed on my dad's car, I went out to it with an electric pump a switch and wire, then I fitted it independent of the ignition switch just for quickness, about a week later the car was stolen but found about 100 yards away obviously the crooks did not know about the switch, it made me proud of what I had unintentionally done,,
We done mate!
For all the people who got clickbaited like I did, the penny thing is at 8:18.
The Mighty Jagrafess So how can you be clickbaited if it's there? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
And it wasn't a penny, it was a Russian rouble.
The title of the video leaves you knowing that you should "run and call the police", but not why, prompting you to click on the video and find out. that, by definition, is clickbait. I'm just helping the majority of people get to the part of the video they're here for.
+The Mighty Jagrafess Oh, you amazing White Knight! Stop all the evil RUclipsrs who dare to try earn money through their work!
Real MVP
IF THERES A CRUM ON THE FLOOR...RUN AND CALL THE POLICE

I got to number 3 and he's already recommended two things that are outright illegal. I'm out.
1) Removable steering wheels are illegal. It's tampering with a safety system(airbag) and legally needs to remain there.
2) You cannot cover the VIN.
i tried number 7, actually worked on my KIA RIO and DAIHATSUN TERIOS, so safe to say, it works,
while its locked/open, just pull the handle, put the coin as shown, and lock it, if you have the light set to Door, it shouldn't shut off, it'll stay on, so i suggest you put it on Door
Dude... Removeable steering wheels are not illegal if the steering wheel doesn't have an airbag.
Yes you can cover your VIN, its easy and not illegal.
RHYNOSAURUSREX its not illegal to tamper with airbags they dont have to be functional just the seatbelts do there more cars on the road without airbags than with
if you see a coin in your door handle, take it out and everything is fine.
Or it COULD be a sign that it's raining MONEY?
@@whimandaprayer what
I will keep it, it might be the world some day!
Love these titles "If you see the sun this morning , run fast!"
If you blink, call 911
If you see water within 20 miles of the beach, run for your life
If you see a living animal call the police
If you smell something weird escape from town
If you can't see when you close your eyes, then run and call 911 immediately!
If you look up and you see a blue sky, leave your planet immediately.
If you see a beautiful girl, marry her
So, what I'm getting from this video is that you can't really avoid having your car stolen if someone is determined to steal it.
NO HUMAN WILL EVER STEAL THAT
Edit: over 1k likes, that's crazy! Thank you!
So, did anyone try this out already?
Haha that's hilarious! And you're right!
What if they have a fireproof suit?
Or have one of those pouches that go off and spray ink all over the thief the way banks do with robbed money. That'll teach them a lesson.

Even though he'll be probably like 50 years old
Thomas Rowe I know it's sound silly but it's better than losing a car.
Just fill your car with snakes and never open it except through the sunroof to feed the snakes. The thieves die from snek if they steal it. This method requires you stop using your car though
morgan megurine brilliant
morgan megurin
How do you keep the snakes from stealing your car?
They don't hav hands or feet, so can't use the steering wheel properly, or the gas/brake peddle. Also, don't worry about the, working together: they all have horrible lisssssssssssps and can't understand each other well enough to quickly collaborate!
"die from snek" haha

KiNG OF SLAPZZ i know right they are simply giving away a bunch of techniques to rob a car what is this??
Mia Basset atleast they're making more people aware of these techniques and how to stop them, and besides car thieves wouldn't sit around watching RUclips anyway
An easy fix to ensure your car is never stolen is to just carry a knife with you every day and burst your tires when you park the car so that nobody can drive off with it.
Ya that would work perfectly but a new set of tires cost around $800 so if you park your car at 3 other stores it would cost you around $2400 that one day. so i donno Attention there must be a cheaper way.
OR WELD THE DOORS SHUT!
😭😭😭😂
You idiot, Harvard scientists have already released a study saying the cheapest way is to disassemble your car down to every nut and bolt
Then when you see the thief putting your car back together, BOOM you got him!
911:what’s your emergency
Me:there’s a coin on my door handle
911:um ok *HANGS UP*

While you're about to leave a parking space of a parking lot. The accomplish of the car thief, will pin a card flyer under your windshield wiper and walks away. As you go outside to pull out the flyer. The car thief jumps inside your car and drives off, with your purse and/or purchased items inside the car. The thief then proceeds to pick up his partner down the road, and they both take off.
Don't fall for that trick.

Yes, I often forget that I've blocked someone in with my car. Happens all the time.
Robert Heinkel for #3 the don’t steal the VIN code, they replicate it.Ik that a lot of the ways they steal ur car sound like a lot of work, but some people would actually still do that
It's on the chassis in several places, on the engine, windshield, computer
you can buy removable steering wheels from a lot of places, people use them in track cars, they have a simple button to detach the wheel
Ever heard of a quick release steering wheel?... their is no airbag
What tricks you tubers trying to pull off these days...
Click-Bait.
lol
Its not clickbait
Channels like these need to be shut down fr I’m pretty sure this is against terms and service as well
Next bright side video:
If you have a light bulb that gives out light, throw it away immediately!
If your house's door do not lock, RUN AND CALL THE POLICE!
There is a possibility that a theif put a coin in the second side of the door, and you think that it's locked but it ISN'T! A thief can get inside your house! (Although the fact that the thief should to be INSIDE the house to put a coin)
that is for sure going to happen

You must just be a real laid back person. That’s a nice bit of fresh air from the way everyone is in today’s world.
My brain crashed reading this. I want to lecture you and shake your hand at the same time
This should be renamed “How To Steal a Car”
Lonzo B not advertiser friendly
Lonzo B lol ikr
Lonzo B true
Since the coin trick is fake, renaming it to that would be 'false advertising'
Lonzo B 🤣🤣🤣
how do they manage to put the coin in the handle before you lock it?
We might never actually hear about it often, but that doesn't stop the fact that this is an actual scenario that does take place.
banana banana I know right 😂
Wally TinTin yea
a coin stopping a handle from locking, when the locking mechanism is inside the door panel? Impossible. the locking mechanism in cars are INSIDE the door, not on the door handle. you can freely pull the door handles all you want when they are locked but it will not open the door.
Me: *makes coffee*

Brooklyn Salada lol your right say that don't call the police they'll think your and idiot lol
Brooklyn Salada doo doo

The actual advice for the penny thing is the opposite of what they said in the thumbnail. Don't run away from the car, just remove the penny.
Many cars will give a different response than normal if you try to lock it with a door not closed or handle propped up with a coin.
A car's VIN is in many more places than just on the dash, sometimes even in secret locations in the frame.
“How to Steal Cars 101”
spagoot ikr
I doubt any of these will work. Gee, come out to your car after grocery shopping and you are going to be carjacked. For sure. 100% certainty. This has happened to you EVERY time you have come out to your car, right? If that happens once a year... well, I can't seem to find any news reports about this happening so..... And the penny? The doors on my Hyundai, Dodge, Saturn, and Toyota all still lock. OK, wife and son's cars included in that.
was thinking the same thing
True
The penny will only keep the door unlocked while it's still there
So you see the coin on your car and you run? That gives the thief's the opportunity to steal the car right?
Problematic TV 😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
I see a coin on my handle, I’m reaching in my waistband..
I see a coin on my car wow I won the lottery 😅
*200 iq*
You can't get anything stolen from your car, if you don't have one .
Peter Gilbert this comment should be pinned because it answered the question.
ofcourse it doesn't work it's not how the door locks are designed. but good job confirming it doesn't!
I'm pretty sure it doesn't work on any car. But thanks for testing anyway.
I thought it was gonna be a bomb or something I got clickbaited 🤦♂️😂

Wouldn't the coin have to be inserted before the driver locks the car? That'd be a bit obvious. In any case, I always check the doors are locked before I leave, just to be on the safe side.
Just William yes that coin one confused me
