Only by being truthful and asking possible atheists to think like atheists are we going to get anything done. His honesty is one of the reasons that I am able to openly call myself an atheist.
@TheThinkingAtheist Thank you so much for this great show, you are a brilliant funny guy, I'm always looking forward to your next podcast. Kind regards from Austria,Europe!
@TheThinkingAtheist This was a very engrossing interview. I could listen to AronRa all day. He is definitely an asset to the online secular community. The knowledge he has at his command is outstanding. I hope you do a sequel to this interview.
I love TheThinkingAtheist's channel...I'm also a huge fan of AronRa's videos and his way of open mindedly expressing his disbelief while backing it all up with facts. I'm only 15:00 into this & I had to express my gratitude that you made this happen at all. Cheers to you sir, and I look forward to future shows that you may have.
Who's coming across this in 2019? Lol That was an extremely long intro, compared to the revised one, and the newest one. Glad you changed it; I am so used to the new one that I was like "just say 'and start thinking' already!" Lol still better than what I could put together. 😁
New to the Atheist world. I particularly do not use the term. I just say I do not believe in the invisible man in the sky with magic powers. That's the term I use. I love Aron Seth and a bunch of the others. Thanks guys for helping me be able to voice what I find real. It's a real pleasure to have found the first podcast
I've got to be honest, I did not think I was going to watch an hour long phone call... Clicked play expecting to watch a few minutes and find a new video, and watched this through. Very interesting and entertaining. Im not sure you can keep doing PODCASTS this appealing, but I'll definitly be looking for the next one =)
Well here is an oldie but goodie. This is about the time I became aware of both these guys and now I know both these guys. I could say listening to these guys never gets old but I have been listening for more the 5 years so I don't have to say it. Now I do my own video's and interviews. And I have a good one about Noah which Seth makes a good point of at 18:30.
@Parapon3ra Where I live, Christianity is a political ralley determined to undermine practically every aspect of our society, especially education. One would be ill-advised to ignore such a faction.
I think the caller that suggests they're misrepresenting Christianity "isn't" an Atheist. I'm thinking he's a believer that just doesn't want to come to an Atheist show saying he's a christian.
Damn! This is professional as always! Is there anything you can't do? Interesting topic! Would appreciate an episode dedicated to more fresh material and approach to criticism of religion. Please have ProfMTH as a guest!
Thanks Thinking Atheist.I enjoyed the show.Hope you do more in the future. I can recommend "Secret Origins of the Bible" by Tim Callahan for anyone who wants to know more about the book.It was eye opening to me to learn how many ancient myths were crammed together, and developed upon by the Hebrews. While I don't believe in religion,I find it's invention very interesting. It tells you alot about the human mind.Much of it damn scary.
That intro was hilarious! I swear you must have done radio before, you have that radio host voice! I'll continue to listen to all these podcasts if you continue to do more!
Oh wow dude, your podcast turned out really well. You're not experiencing tunnel vision, take some time out to decide where to submit this for maximum exposure. (sug. iTunes, Miro etc..)
@123Atheist The story is that the Pharaoh Seneferu parted the red sea so that a women could retrieve a turquoise bauble that she dropped into the water.
"Pick a chapter that you think would be a blueprint for you live by". More creepily, choose a chapter that you would have your NEIGHBORS live by. One who would not have you sitting up all night with a shotgun.
Arnon-Ra has it exactly right. Atheists, read your Bible. Theists think for yourself. Learn what logic, evidence, science, and reason really are. Have reason for thinking the way you do.
After being introduced to AronRa by this podcast, I watched his 15 Foundational Falsehoods of Creationism. I just gotta say the man knows his shit and he knows it well.
I don't know how any can actually read the whole bible. I have tried multiple times and I just can't stomach it. As a female, it's impossible to see how God could possibly love me if the Bible is his holy word. How does any woman support anything in the Bible?
OH! And don't forget, that angel with a flaming sword also took a break from guarding eden to go tell Joseph Smith that he was supposed to marry other men's wives and 14 year old girls and if those women and girls didn't agree, he'd kill Smith.
I'm tired of hearing "that story is a metaphor." This happens when you logically explain how certain claims are ridiculous and impossible....and then the next person will tell you that same story is definetly true.
The final thought on this is absolutely spot on. A great deal of people who self-identify as Christians are moderates. Often they have not read the Bible in its entirety and have little to no idea what kind of crowd they are lumping themselves in with when they call themselves Christian. If you want to convince moderate Christians their religion is wrong, don't get them to read atheist books, get them to read THEIR OWN BOOK.
I was raised Christian, did damn good in bible class too. What really bothered me is that Christians(and really most religions) act like their book is original, or somehow "NEW'. HAH!. seriously, pretending the bible isnt a repackaged amalgamation of many local older religions is an affront to anyone who chooses to look at history more than 2000 years old
I am so happy to have discoverd aronra and your podcast. I personaly have found better sources for living in other books far more reasonable and rational than the bible.
Once actual reality is discovered and widely accepted, suddenly any passage in the bible which is contradictory to that discovery is suddenly a metaphor. LOVE apologetics!!
Great discussion! Given AronRa's knowledge of the Bible and religion in general I would have liked to see religious people calling in and asking questions rather than listening to the converted Additionally, I would have liked some exploration of AronRa's comments about something being "there" which is far better than anyone can imagine. I'm sure the truth is beautiful, but it bordered on the religious (even with his caveats) and deserves some enlightenment given his proclivity to atheism
Very fun, very nice :D i like his advice at the beginning he is saying to think and not let your guard down...question what they are saying and look it up for yourself!!
thank you. you have given me the tools to combat my father when he attempts to force his religion on his teenage son. thank you for all the information keep it up
Watching this again 11yrs later is amazing to see how much has changed yet not changed at all.
Watching 14 years later, and yeah.
It's definitely not futile - it's ultimately what drove me to realize my atheism almost a year ago. Thanks for all of your time!!!
i love the thinking atheists voice.. its just a perfect radio voice
I love you guys! Thank you Seth and AronRa!!
This was great. Also, listening in 2020 his early radio format is anachronistic in a way that makes me feel anachronistic.
The part about the 10 commandments mentioned at about 16:55 is indeed Carlin. It's actually one of my favorite Carlin bits.
You were right, Seth. The audio is awful XD
How far you've come. Keep up the good work, my brother.
So glad I found you Seth you have helped me so much !!

Damn...AronRa has probably forgotten more than I will ever learn.
I humbly bow to his knowledge.
Who's coming across this in 2019? Lol
That was an extremely long intro, compared to the revised one, and the newest one. Glad you changed it; I am so used to the new one that I was like "just say 'and start thinking' already!" Lol still better than what I could put together. 😁
It's almost 2021
New to the Atheist world. I particularly do not use the term. I just say I do not believe in the invisible man in the sky with magic powers. That's the term I use. You've totally got this Casey Kasem quality to your voice that I really dig. Thank you so much for this. Liked and Faved:)

Thank you soo much Thinking Athiest and AronRa!! Totally awesome dudes!
Quite the treat. AronRa is a very articulate intellect.
That was brilliant. Awesome job by both host and guest - I'm not sure who I loved more!
Aron Ra is an excellent educator!
I spent an hour doing homework while I listened to this. I know where I learned more from.
Thank God for this show!
Which god? :3
@@CrunchyDark jeebus
That was splendid!
Listened to the whole thing with great interest.
Well done TTA and Aron! :)
Great show guys! The first of many I hope.
Great podcast...Great to hear you two together. You are both favorites of mine.
This is where it all started :)
you're a rare type of young earth creationist if you think it all started 9y ago! 😂
Damn! This is professional as always! Is there anything you can't do? Interesting topic! Would appreciate an episode dedicated to more fresh material and approach to criticism of religion. Please have ProfMTH as a guest!
BRILLIANT! thoroughly entertaining to listen to. Looking forward to the next one!
you should do voice overs for commercials and cartoons and stuff, your voice is soothing.
That bit about the virgins in the old testament at about 36:00. Completely in context. Awesome.

I'm definitely subscribing to this when I get home
very interesting, enjoyed this very much. Aronra is fantastic to listen to.
This was a great first show! (sans the technical difficulty delays, of course)
Hey, I love thethinkingatheist channel! Thank you.
I really enjoyed this podcast! Hope you decide to do more.
A great way to start Seth. Tell them to not take your word and look for yourself.
Bro, that's your real voice? Wow... brilliant. great PC... I loved every word of it.
just finished seeing the whole thing... glad you posted this, I was still asleep when it was on.
TTA, I liked the podcast. Tis was a great way to start off the day!
That intro was hilarious! I swear you must have done radio before, you have that radio host voice! I'll continue to listen to all these podcasts if you continue to do more!
very very well done. enjoyed this very much. Looking forward to the next one
Great talk. I missed it when it was live, thanks for posting it here.
Oh wow dude, your podcast turned out really well.
You're not experiencing tunnel vision, take some time out to decide where to submit this for maximum exposure. (sug. iTunes, Miro etc..)
thanks for the post. that was great.
If you start to make these podcasts regularly, you must get this stuff to iTunes podcast section. It´d be great.
As always, the quality of your work leaves nothing to be desired. I demand more :)
Arnon-Ra has it exactly right. Atheists, read your Bible. Theists think for yourself.
Learn what logic, evidence, science, and reason really are.
Have reason for thinking the way you do.
LOVE it! And yes, you really should try and make a podcast on iTunes. Looking forward to more!
Wonderful show! It was a blast listening in live and I look forward to move of it in the future! Hell, maybe I'll actually call in... *dun dun DUNN*
After being introduced to AronRa by this podcast, I watched his 15 Foundational Falsehoods of Creationism. I just gotta say the man knows his shit and he knows it well.
great show, can't really argue with aronra, the guy knows his stuff
I don't know how any can actually read the whole bible. I have tried multiple times and I just can't stomach it. As a female, it's impossible to see how God could possibly love me if the Bible is his holy word. How does any woman support anything in the Bible?
loving this. great job guys!
All caught-up. I've listened to every episode now. phew!
Great podcast!
Aron Ra, you'd be arguing against me at this time! I'm glad to be on your side.
@TheThinkingAtheist
Thanks, I was unable to see the itunes button, but I see it now. TY
6 minutes in, listening to the whole thing. love it :)
Nice podcast! Loved it!
OH! And don't forget, that angel with a flaming sword also took a break from guarding eden to go tell Joseph Smith that he was supposed to marry other men's wives and 14 year old girls and if those women and girls didn't agree, he'd kill Smith.
Awesome Radio show. really enjoyed it.
Very cool. I want more of this in the future please :)

Are you going to add subtitles? It'd be easier for foreigners to understand, sometimes I don't catch up and miss vital parts...
Didn’t Joseph Smith said that the Garden of Eden is located in Kirkland Missouri 😳. Lol 😂, Aloha 🌺
This was awesome, It'd be better if some theists had called lol but still, pretty cool. And thanks for posting the whole thing!
The first one!!!! Cool:) Love this show
I am an atheist because I have faith in science.I have no faith in imaginary beings.
This is great stuff =) Outstanding.
Aron scores very high on the awesomesness scale!
The quote about the 10 Commandments Was indeed, Carlin. Big Carlin fan!
Maybe 58 minutes is a bit long, but I like listening to these two for an hour.
I was raised Christian, did damn good in bible class too. What really bothered me is that Christians(and really most religions) act like their book is original, or somehow "NEW'. HAH!. seriously, pretending the bible isnt a repackaged amalgamation of many local older religions is an affront to anyone who chooses to look at history more than 2000 years old
Great stuff!!
Thanks guys!
I am so happy to have discoverd aronra and your podcast. I personaly have found better sources for living in other books far more reasonable and rational than the bible.
Yeah, I love that the Old Testament "doesn't count" anymore, unless it's condemning gays
Once actual reality is discovered and widely accepted, suddenly any passage in the bible which is contradictory to that discovery is suddenly a metaphor. LOVE apologetics!!
I love what AronRa said about Lot's wife looking over her shoulder.
cool. first episode 😎
That one caller sure sounds like Grapplingwithignorance.
good podcast.
Great discussion! Given AronRa's knowledge of the Bible and religion in general I would have liked to see religious people calling in and asking questions rather than listening to the converted

Thank god i live in an atheïst country :-)
Grtz from the Netherlands
Very fun, very nice :D i like his advice at the beginning he is saying to think and not let your guard down...question what they are saying and look it up for yourself!!
I know it's a podcast and there are others on the line bit in really wish he'd let people finish what they need to say and let Aron finish his points
So cute. Seth called Aron sir. Ahaha.
Mr.TheThinkingAtheist, you have have an awesome voice.
"You can't deny that it's a powerful book."
Me: Yes I can, when it's a book of pure fiction!
I sure hope that guy (Chris @ about 22:00) took a second look at things.
Nice podcast! I liked it. But with AronRa, you can't lose ;-)
The beginning of something very special…
thank you. you have given me the tools to combat my father when he attempts to force his religion on his teenage son. thank you for all the information keep it up
