Fun fact, HALA HALA was ment to be their debut song! But someone thought that it sounded too hard and they didn't wanna scare possible fans away so soon. I'm happy you like our boys! They are amazing!
SUMMARY OF THE ATEEZ STORYLINE if you're bored, confused or curious. Tried to keep it as short as possible. There are these 8 highschool boys, they each have their own troubles but they find refuge in music and dancing. Theyre all different but thats what brings them together so they start practicing and doing what they love in their hideout (an old abandoned factory) Eventually they started to drift apart because of said troubles: one of them has to move away because of his parents (San), another one loses his brother in a car accident (Yunho), one has a family who doesn't allow him to do arts (Yeosang) Their friendship crumbles once Mingi gets worked up and says some harsh things like "this was all pointless" because he was hurt & he can't handle negative emotions. He gets punched in the face by Jongho because of that. Thats when they stop meeting at all. Hongjoong, the leader, cant seem to let go of their hideout, he keeps hanging out there. One night hes visited by a man dressed in all black with his face covered by a mask and a hat. He still seemed familiar, the fedora man gives Hongjoong an hourglass, says some vague stuff and then Hongjoong wakes up. Turns out the hourglass (named "the cromer") was still there when he wakes up and all the other members show up at the hideout, startled. Most likely they all had a similar dream. Hongjoong turns the cromer but the sand in the hourglass was going upwards, it was broken. Thats when they realized they shifted dimensions, the place was similar but there were slight differences. All of a sudden they get attacked by some big androids dressed in white that want to steal the cromer. Eventually Ateez escape with the hourglass, but the androids catch up to them and they have to let go of the hourglass in order to save one of the members (Wooyoung). They meet a pair of twins from the new dimension who help them understand the world, they're in a dimension called Strictland where the government wants to prevent any sort of war or anomaly, so it controls everything and the variable theyre worried about the most is human emotion. So they (the gov) developed some sort of artificial intelligence thats fueled by biological energy in order to surpress human emotions, thus art of any form is prohibited. But the "black pirates" were the only group in this dimension who was still doing art and they couldn't catch them because they had the cromer, until it broke. In the end the gov developed the "white androids" and the pirates were caught. Fast forward they find out through another character (Left Eye) where the androids' base was. Ironically, it was in a former art gallery The androids were drunk because they just set memories on fire and the smoke was intoxicating and thats why atz were able to sneak in, they found Halateez (aka the black pirates) captive. Couldnt help them escape but the black pirates gave the original atz their suits. Yeosang finds the cromer but its too late, the androids catch him. Its either Yeosang or the cromer, they have to decide if they save Yeosang and never go back to their dimension or sacrifice him. Hongjoong decides to save Yeo and wants to give the androids the cromer, but in a split second Yeo turns the cromer and throws it to the ground, breaking it. The others get sent back to their initial dimension, without Yeosang. The original ateez are sent back some time in the past, before Yunhos brother dies. They see on the news that a religious cult tried to steal a Maya relict from the history museum. The relict was the cromer from their original dimension. They decide to go steal it themselves in order to save Yeo, but Yunho doesn't join them, he wants to stay with his brother and prevent his death. Whats left of the members go to try and steal it after making a plan. They get in trouble, the cult asks for reinforcements and they have to fight both the cult and the authorities. One of the members gets held hostage. Yunho sees that on the news so he gathers his friends from the bike club and goes to their rescue. He manages to save both the members and the cromer and they try to escape on their bikes, but the cult leader catches them from behind with his car. Trying to crash into them, his car crashes and injures random pedestrians instead. One of the pedestrians was Yunhos brother. Of course Yunho is devastated, his brother encourages him to live his own life with his last breath, but they dont have time to waste because of the cult leader. Wooyoung turns the cromer. They get sent back to Strictland where they help Yeosang escapes and thats all we have so far, not including the lore from their latest album.
ATEEZ' storyline is a little complicated because there are parallel words, communication via dreams, time and space traveling, altering the storylines with an hourglass relic... and we don't know half of it yet. "Treasure" is more or less a summary. "Fever" is the starting point for "real world ateez". "Halateez" world is the one from "Movement"... if you are into Ateez' lore you need to read the diaries.
I read all the diaries yesterday, and they are honestly so good. Ateez's storyline/lore is probably my favorite storyline/lore in K-pop, it would make a great sci-fi movie or book.
Hala Hala is like no other song, and they are unmatched when they perform it (also the way San goes so hard he almost always breaks his mic while doing it). But really, the story is so much deeper, here is a short-ish summary: No evil side of ATEEZ, but ATEEZ from a different dimension aka the Black Pirates (or halateez, the members in black hats and masks). They are an anarchist group trying to overthrow their totalitarian government, which has deemed emotions as a disease to human race and therefore prohibited all forms of art, which are linked to feelings of course. So the citizens are reducent to a joyless, brainwashed workforce. And the government sent white-clad giants, or Android Guardians after the Black Pirates, so they are being hunted. The Black Pirates try to wake people up as we saw in the Guerrilla MV (they literally use guerrilla warfare against the government). There's the whole dimension-traveling thing too, different versions of ATEEZ meet each other, and the story weaves in and out of different dimensions and time lines, so putting it together can be a bit tricky. But the Black Pirates appear in many MV's such as Say My Name, Illusion, Answer, and Deja Vu (one of them got trapped in the glass box). The whole World Movement part 1 album (in which Guerrilla is the title track) is about them waking up, realising they have emotions they have never felt before, then trying to wake up other people, fight against the government as well as figure out who they even are and what kind of world should come after the revolution. And a lot of those same themes are already present here, in Hala Hala.
Hala Hala is one of the most interesting songs sonically, lyrically and visually (with the choreography). Epic too. I think you did a great job of analysing and interpreting! I'm still figuring it out even after so many watches lol. Great video!
You are an interesting man. There are few RUclipsrs who can analyze a song like you. It's as if you look and hear the songs through a different lens, and this is very interesting. You explain slowly and you are not in a hurry and you enjoy it.🍁🍁
If you haven't already, you really need to react to live stages of this. Seeing their facial expressions makes it hit even harder. Halateez in their most well-known form (with the black fedoras), show up in many other videos, including Say My Name, Illusion, Answer & Deja Vu. But seriously, the live stages and dance practice for this song are not to be missed. The original black & white short version is also amazing and was released before the main HALA HALA performance MV and Say My Name MV. So good.
Here are links to live stages, the dance practice and the OG B&W short performance video. They key to understanding Hala Hala in its (release vs. storyline) context is the fact that the Say My Name/Hala Hala pair of title tracks were released as their first comeback, de facto introducing their storyline to us but it wasn't the beginning of the story. So at the time the most obvious interpretation was that Halateez are the evil opposites of Ateez while in fact they're anti-heroes, not villains. They're dark and ruthless (as we saw in the Kingdom stages, especially Rhythm Ta, and in the Don't Stop MV) but they're a product of their dystopian reality. But the way the storyline was developed in the MVs, we didn't know they were Ateez's future allies until the finale of the Treasure series and the Answer MV. They don't literally die in the Hala Hala MV (unless there will be another twist and it'll turn out that the MV is actually set in the future) - in Guerrilla (and in the story written down in the Diary version of The World EP.1: Movement) both versions of Ateez are working together inciting the revolution. As for the lyrics, they can be interpreted for the real life Ateez as well - they were starting their career and promising to burn up the stage (and boy did they deliver) :) Make sure to watch some live stages, the facial expressions are incredible! And they came up with something pretty cool for the current tour performances - look at the screen behind them ruclips.net/video/0ciX-04UOcE/видео.html I recommend Say My Name for the next reaction, it'll make it much easier to get into the lore the way was intended, it's a fun song that shows how much skill and charisma they've had since day one. Then, if you want to see more Halateez and their world, after that is Wonderland and Answer (that's the Treasure series, then the Fever series starts with the flashback to their origins).
Glad you liked hala hala😻 As for the song recommendations, i sudgest : -cyberpunk (+ live performance from their recent concerts..but unfortunately there are only videos from fans) -rocky - win, live performance - fireworks mv -wave ( if you wanna see a different part of ateez)
Ateez are TOP NOTCH 💕👏🏻 no bad songs. I think you would enjoy *Turbulance* the lyrics are deep & beautiful, more a balad. Also recommend *The Real* its so frkin hype & the lyrics are very interesting to!!!!
omg finally more ateeeez! glad you got to check this out, its one of my faaavvss. you should deffo watch their live performances of this they're unreal??? this and Win live are so good i v much recommend!
It's good to see some Ateez content back on the menu, hopefully we'll get more regular content about them🤣🤣 I really enjoy your reactions and analysis. Talking about some other great songs I really would like to see you reacting to Turbulence, little trivia they just released a live band version of said song and their vocals are really top notch there. Truly among their best live performances ever
they use often that look in they're previous vidéo like in KINGDOM ATEEZ as a clear story line in they're MV's the first 2 HALA HALA and SAY MY NAME are the same story arc .
The ATEEZ lore is core-of-the-earth levels of deep, and it comes in multiple formats. Videos contain lore (do Answer next), there's the Diary: Part 1 video (ruclips.net/video/g833H8DPC4Q/видео.html), there was new lore in Kingdom with the chromer (hourglass), they've included clues in their variety content (like in Fever Road), and there is lore included in the printed materials that come with the albums as well (ATINY have scanned/written these out so you can read them). LoreTINY are a happy subset of fans devoted to finding and interpreting the lore, but really it's all guesswork and conjecture. Lore in general deals with our pirate team doing some time and dimensional travel, most recently to Strictland (you haven't watched Fireworks, but it's there), where emotions are suppressed by the the government and ATEEZ and HalATEEZ try to make positive change for the citizenry (Guerrilla). I'd love to see a full movie made with all the connections shown in order, because we've lost members in time, gotten them back, etc., and the true timeline has never been clear. But our Captain did say we're not quite halfway through the whole of the storyline, so it's great to know there's more to look forward to. Thanks so much for your insightful reactions to these videos!
Hala hala Mv is in it’s simple way perfection. I love how it is focused on their dance, music and talent. I really recommend checking out say my name or I’m the one!
Oldie but goldie... I still like it a lot..can't imagine you didn't reacted to that earlier 🤔😁 15:50 And San always is freaking out while dancing... he maybe killed 100 headphones dancing this choreography 🤣 you definitely have to check out the dance practice of this... it's insane
Ur reaction is spot on and glad u watch Hala Hala. The outfit was in Say My Name and in Dejavu. Turbulence is a very underrated hard hitting ballad. Any of the live performances are top notch but u might get copyright claimed. Say My Name, Turbulence, Thanxx, and I agree Cyberpunk is a very good one too!! Thanks for the hard work! Ur the best🫰🏻
I love this song (and its dance) so much but never took the time of thinking more about the meaning. It actually makes me think A LOT xD Glad you reacted to it ! I'm not sure what to recommend right now, I'm sure others will do the job perfectly, still I'll list 4 songs, 2 without MV : The Leaders and Win ; and 2 With MV : THANXX, Pirate King (their debut song)
Love how you always take your time to analyse what you're listening to/watching, it makes the reaction videos feel more genuine! :) Other Ateez songs I'd recommend: Wonderland, Fireworks (I'm The One), Thanxx, Pirate King (this one, like Hala Hala, is extra musically interesting and unique sounding, it's very cool. It's also their debut), Answer, Say My Name, Cyberpunk (this one is from the same album as Guerrilla and it sadly doesn't have a music video but it's so good, I'd love to see what you think of it. It has a colour-coded lyric video you can react to!)
it`s one of their best songs!!! and my fav still, i`m atiny since the beginning an i still don`t love any song more then this. video`s o simple but artistic at the same time. plus we don`t see faces which means rick to show less expretion but guys did a great job. it was like a test for them to express themselves without faces shown. this MV` s one of my fav in k-pop, even simplicity of it can`t change my mind))
Fun fact! The Ateez with dark hats are called “halateez” by the fans & was picked up by the members. According to the storyline theyre ateez from the future who are fighting against the strict government in an alternative universe! They are there to help current ateez and get help from them at the same time. Theyre not the actual villains of the lore haha
My dude. Hala Hala is the only song I ever advocate for a reactor to watch a live. You don't have to react to it, you just need to see a live. *Something* happens to them live. (That something is just some possession, but ya know...) You cannot really understand why Ateez has a Demon Line without seeing Hala Hala live. Audience or no audience, it doesn't matter - the second they hit the stage and Hala Hala starts... something happens. Even during their promos for the song you can see it, but they've gotten more unhinged after they've gotten more comfortable on stage.
ATEEZ is amazing!!!!! This guys are ….. wow. Every single one of their songs has me 5 seconds in, no other group can do this. Also Junghoo can have any of the other KPop groups vocal lines for breakfast. Lol. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love BTS, SKZ, TXT (whom can harmonize like no one), Seventeen, Enhypen, Cravity, Shinee, Treasure, and so many others, but Junghoo Woah!
Just wanted to clear it up for new and confused Atinys. Halateez aren't really good or bad. They are just Ambitious and willing to do anything to accomplish their goals or dreams. They are "burning" with passion for their dreams. The so called "suicide Squad" that Hongjoong had in mind when they first debuted. Because the all to 1 albums were very "me/my goals and dreams" (see Desire Lyrics or Live video for reference) compared to the "yours/our dreams and the journey along the way" (see Utopia lyrics for example) mentally of the Treasure albums. You can even see in Answer Mv that the answer is not Ateez or Halateez, but Both. You need ambition/passion to achieve your goals and you need the experience/the friends along the journey and hope to achieve your goals/dreams. Hope this helps clear some confusion for others 💜
Halateez are not villains. The true villains of ateez's story is the strictland government But halateez are an alternate version of ateez in a different universe where music and anything creative is banned, basically the government wants to suppress all emotions but halateez is trying to bring back creativity and emotion, and I think that's why they're painted as villains, they're going against the government! (RUclips this is all fiction, I'm not trying to take down the government)
World albums series is based of halateez views of the story we see in fever, world is mirror too fever Their storyline is too big They are the rebellion They are the savior of strictland But only ateez can help halateez And we still ignore the roles of whiteez, ha being the capitain in this team too
Fun fact, HALA HALA was ment to be their debut song! But someone thought that it sounded too hard and they didn't wanna scare possible fans away so soon. I'm happy you like our boys! They are amazing!
A great decision made tbh 😂... It would have been too overwhelming for a first impression lol
It wasn't for that, Hj said it was bc of their storyline! :)
imagine debuting with HALA HALA DHAKHDSKDHSHBSJ I'M DYING THEY WOULD DEF SCARE US but it's so good tho!!
SUMMARY OF THE ATEEZ STORYLINE if you're bored, confused or curious.
Tried to keep it as short as possible.
There are these 8 highschool boys, they each have their own troubles but they find refuge in music and dancing.

Thats when they stop meeting at all.
Hongjoong, the leader, cant seem to let go of their hideout, he keeps hanging out there.

Ironically, it was in a former art gallery
The androids were drunk because they just set memories on fire and the smoke was intoxicating and thats why atz were able to sneak in, they found Halateez (aka the black pirates) captive.
Couldnt help them escape but the black pirates gave the original atz their suits.
Yeosang finds the cromer but its too late, the androids catch him.

Yess please more ateez, also read tge diary versions to understand the lore, ateez's storyline is really out of this world
Ur reaction is spot on and glad u watch Hala Hala. Ur the best🫰🏻
jongho voice bruh he is sooo good
Thank you for your reaction
Ateez ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this song (and its dance) so much but never took the time of thinking more about the meaning. It actually makes me think A LOT xD Glad you reacted to it !
I'm not sure what to recommend right now, I'm sure others will do the job perfectly, still I'll list 4 songs, 2 without MV : The Leaders and Win ; and 2 With MV : THANXX, Pirate King (their debut song)
16:05 relatable 😭😭 same reaction LMAOOOO
Sector 1 !! You really should watch them performing it and please do a reaction video
it`s one of their best songs!!! and my fav still, i`m atiny since the beginning an i still don`t love any song more then this. video`s o simple but artistic at the same time. plus we don`t see faces which means rick to show less expretion but guys did a great job. it was like a test for them to express themselves without faces shown. this MV` s one of my fav in k-pop, even simplicity of it can`t change my mind))
Fun fact! The Ateez with dark hats are called “halateez” by the fans & was picked up by the members. According to the storyline theyre ateez from the future who are fighting against the strict government in an alternative universe! They are there to help current ateez and get help from them at the same time. Theyre not the actual villains of the lore haha
Please react to Ateez Wonderland. It is lit
Jongho***
Ok! So for suggestions I’d love for you to react to Answer and Say My Name or Fireworks (I’m the One) but I’ll be happy any reaction you do!!
Thank you for react please react to new world and cyberpunk 😍
ATEEZ is the only group that DREAMCATCHER's LEEZ and Ollounder participate outside. I know that this song was also made by LEEZ and Ollounder.
Next one: cyberpunk 🍁🍁
HALATEEZ is ATEEZ but in dimension Z
Please react to VICTION - WHAT A SAID 💌
Halateez are not villains. The true villains of ateez's story is the strictland government
But halateez are an alternate version of ateez in a different universe where music and anything creative is banned, basically the government wants to suppress all emotions but halateez is trying to bring back creativity and emotion, and I think that's why they're painted as villains, they're going against the government!
(RUclips this is all fiction, I'm not trying to take down the government)
World albums series is based of halateez views of the story we see in fever, world is mirror too fever
Their storyline is too big
They are the rebellion
They are the savior of strictland
But only ateez can help halateez
And we still ignore the roles of whiteez, ha being the capitain in this team too
Hala Hala is the true beginning
The piece that link everything
Because halateez are the key
