Awesome footage . I've prevented myself from dying on my bike, climbing mountains in 100 plus heat by wrapping up some ice cubes , or better yet, a fist sized solid chunk of ice, Aunt Jemima style, in a bandana , the ice goes on the back of your neck (hypothalamus) . put a wet cloth or wet tee-shirt over that, and cover that with your wetted baseball hat. You'll be amazed . Good to see you have some FRS radios , with Dad sounding all trucker convoy. Onward.

Constructive criticism is extremely important and i truly believe you are mature enough to appreciate some..i am a Canadian and hearing you say that you dont care about canadian geography while you are travaling through canadian geography is kinda off-putting..while you are American and will be living in Alaska, we still are your closest neighbour and respect would be appreciated. Good luck on your journey and may God bless you !!

    • @backroadsusa6915

I didn't find his comment disrespectful toward Canada or Canadians. He's just excited and wants to get his destination unfortunately if we want to drive to Alaska which is part of the United States we have no choice but to be forced to drive through Canada.
Just because United States and Canada are neighboring countries doesn't mean we all have to like the same things and appreciate the same things. So my constructive criticism for you is.... don't be "offended" when none was "intended"

Pretty much where ever I've been, the people have always been good. I've slept under the stars and when it's cold it's cold -- colors of the rocks really don't matter much -- it's being able to throw more wood in the fire that makes sleeping worthwhile -- and knowing there's gonna be fresh black coffee when I get all the way to the end !! (I never liked having to get up before I finished sleeping).

Great that Mom and Dad were able to travel with you on this journey. Surprised that little Ford wagon made it and you didn't have a 4WD pickup but you did say you would purchase what you needed when you got there.

Your parents van is very similar to the wreck my husband and I restored. Enjoying your videos. Stunning scenery.

When I heard about all the fires I remembered your journey and said a little prayer for you. Love the sweaters and glad to see you shared the road with your parents. Godspeed!
