    I only remember Joey from the episode Pigeon Man. I forgot he was a background character. One nip pick i have with this show is the habit of not giving certain characters time to shine. I agree Billy. I loved how they focused on the main characters and we really got to hear their stories and learn about them, but when it came to some of these background characters, they were so underdeveloped one could easily forget they were even there. I agree at the time Joey and park could’ve used more and they could’ve had different background of what’s there interest i think in one of the episodes I seen park riding a skate board 🛹 and his culture of asian side could’ve played well like his family or tradition they seem like they both have a lot of personality but if they were to bring hey Arnold back and do a remake a new version I think those two would’ve been two characters that a lot of people would remember

    • @DialUpDigest
      @DialUpDigest  3 года назад +3

      I think I may have seen Park on a skateboard too, Arturo. Yes, I agree, it would have been nice to see Park's family life and any traditions they participate it. It could have been relatable to kids watching with the same or similar backgrounds, which would be nice to see considering the lack of Asian American animated cartoon characters in America.
      I hope if Hey Arnold comes back, they make Joey and Park more memorable as well. I agree, a lot of people would remember them if they played larger roles in the show :)

    Apparently Joey did have a last name: Stevenson. As for why he wasn't used all that much, my big guess is that his and Harold's role as bully were diverted more to people like Wolfgang and the 5th graders or Helga. Not much of a point to focus on him when you have another set of bullies that do the same thing. It's probably why Harold became less prone to being a jerk too; his role for that wasn't needed. He could've gotten an episode like Torvald did, and I'll be honest I'm surprised that he didn't get one, but you only have so many episodes to fit in I guess.
    Oh, and as for why Sheena rooted for the fight with the "24 hours episode"? That's due to it being a previous iteration of Hey Arnold being repurposed as the episode, so a bit of weirdness was to be expected.

    • @DialUpDigest
      @DialUpDigest  3 года назад +2

      I think you're right about that. There were so many bullies in Hey Arnold, it makes sense they had to make some changes. I agree, there's only so many episodes they could make and after Joey's one real appearance on the show, I guess it was easier to just downgrade his role in the show.
      Oh ok, that makes sense. It was so uncharacteristic of Sheena to be there 😅
