My Excalibur Micro 340 TD is incredible. About 5 shots at 20 yds sighting in, 40yd test shot bullseye twice. First season, 100% kill rate. Shoots like a gun, but quieter.
I bought the Exocet 200 back in 2013, I haven't hunted with it in 5 years. I dusted it off and went last Friday and shot two does within 45 minutes of each other. I'm thinking about buying an Assassin now as a back up. Nice video!
Yes most crossbow can pass through a deer with a light setup but a heavier arrow will save the crossbow and scopes and give you more more energy also will quite it down some too. As for distances archery is archery and it’s about how close not how far, today’s equipment 50 yards is really the longest we should go. Past this distance too much is able to go wrong. Excalibur is the best company too absolutely love them. For cocking methods I like rope but with the power bows are becoming I think they have to be internal now I would not trust nylon plastic hooks drawing a 300lb plus crossbow having it attached to the claws of the trigger unit is really the safest way now.
just found your vids today. i recently bought a micro mag 340. will be using this season. had a centerpoint heat that the limbs gave up on. always wanted a micro since they first came out, i am a trad archer for over 46 years, but age is sneakin up so i am going to hunt this season a bit to see if i like the crossbow hunting. creeping up on 100 deer taken over the years so i have a pretty good idea on archery hunting. good to see that your bows are holding up well. good luck and be safe this season, mine started in 2b already. i will be looking for more of your vids
Thank you. I put my micro through some rough seasons, a cold morning around 10 degrees make my limbs brittle they cracked. But other then than shoots like a laser beams 12 deer later and 2 inch swhacker. 👍👍
@@PATG2 i put an excalibur 150 grain trailblaser thru a doe tonight, broke my bolt but broke both front shoulders, massive energy. she made it 20 yards. had the bow 3 days now and up 2 does in 2b, i cant get over how small it is in my stand. i may switch to the swhackers , use them in my barnett, good luc to ya this season, kill a biggen
@@constantinsabin3193 i had i limb crack on my centerpoint heat, min bolt weight is listed at 390. i was shooting 460 grain there is so much energy stored in such a small space it has to go somewhere, the race for speed is kiilin limbs, best latest greatest fastest, have seen ravins crack limbs, with ravin bolts, my buddys been shootin his micro since when they first came out, no issues yet in 10 years i think. a spare set of limbs is cheap insurance to me,
I don't know how I got here, I don't own a crossbow and I usually hunt with the "ambush & strangle bare-handed wearing a strip of rabbit fur method." I root for the little guy, here, I'll push all the buttons for your algorithms.
I like my 308 short. I’ve gotten 4 deer with it now. 2 last year & 2 so far this year. Check out my channel if you want for videos of me hunting with it.

To have 2 crossbows just because of lomb crack is hilarious
Just use 150 grain broadhead and they will not crack

Thank you for the comment ,I wish I would have bought an Excalibur as my first crossbow. I never heard anyone say anything bad about Excalibur either.
