Great job! Anyonewho looks at the finished, painted product is going to be surprised to learn that the minis don't come like that out of the box!

@@AshandStoneNZ Oh, I have, many times, but not with that level of skill. You can always tell when I have greenstuffed a cloak or some fur onto one of my plastic frostgrave or oathmark models 😂

Good good! Well hopefully my attempts to emulate Mr Anderson have given you a tip or two to help out!

They look so much better like this.

I think it definitely adds something. My only fear is that it makes them look a little less heavily armoured. Though not wearing a helmet does that too!

@@AshandStoneNZ Maybe for the scarf ones, but the fur and mail ones look like they have more pizazz.

And there's still room for improvement, but that's half the fun!

Very nice, I especially liked the fact that you made some cloth neckguards. Not everyone remembers that they were used a lot.
A great video, as usual 😊

I actually hadn't thought about a padded hood or collar, but you're absolutely right!
I'm not sure I like the idea of putting them on the Orcs though. They seem a little too "civilised" to me. They seem more...soft curves than sharp angles if you know what I mean. I'll have to keep it in mind when the heavy Elves and Humans come out.

It wasn’t the focus of the video, but I really like the grey you used for the orc skin. I really have never been a fan of green skinned orcs. Probably goes back to my childhood watching the animated versions of the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

Green skinned Orcs have their place, but it is very cartoonish. I chose the green-grey to nod toward the classic green, but it's got a much darker, cold and more menacing undertone to it I think.

    really great details!
have you made a video about how you deal with the built-in bases at all?

    • @AshandStoneNZ
      @AshandStoneNZ  3 месяца назад

      Cheers Josh!
      I haven't yet, but I probably should.
I used to cut them off, either with a razor saw or with flush cutters, but now days I use custom 3D printed bases with a recess that is designed to fit the puddle base, then be filled in around the edges with a little ready mix filler to flatten it out.

I like your painting and modelling videos, but i like your battle reports a lot more.
I hope you do some Oathmark battles again soon with a new character.
    Thank you

Definitely more to come! The plan is for the next video to be an Oathmark battle.
They just take an age to edit, so in the mean time, hobby videos are a lot quicker to get out.
      Cheers mate! Appreciate your patience!
