I’m 20 years old starting in lawncare within 6 weeks I have 20 clients I work for. I started working at 20-25$ an hour.... by watching these videos i make 40-75$ an hour budgeting hours for jobs and also raising my prices. Don’t under bid yourself people!
Hey brother, I just wanted to take the time to thank you for this very informal video. You just made my day. Me and my family just started a lawn care business and we have some costumers wanting mulching done around their yards. I was really not sure of pricing, I spent many hours watching videos today, until I came across this videos. Now I am much more confident and can go ahead tackling the mulch jobs that are available out there. God bless🙏
Mike, you are doing a great service for your community. I found your channel from another channel that couldn't get over the politicians have the nerve to send you a cease and desist letter. Looks like your community needs to clear out some overpaid bureaucrats and politicians.
I love this guy! he’s brought my yard game to an other level, now my neighbour across from from me is not the only one with an immaculate front yard and plant beds.
The way I have priced much in the past is charge 3 times sometimes 4 what the mulch cost. That covers my labor and hauling. Usually it balances out in the end every time. That’s the story here in TN. Keep up the good work and sharing your knowledge.
So if you’re wrapping the front of the house and maybe decide you’re only charging 120 bucks and is that removing old mulch as well just curious brother
I would recommend buying a wheelbarrow with two wheels. It can carry more material and it's better for you back. It also makes it easier to push on rough terrain
You can’t, the bottoms split something awful. I tried to reach out to Jackson and True Temper a few months ago when I couldn’t find the 8/10 cubic foot models ANYwhere, and couldn’t order a replacement tub directly from them. They said both models were discontinued and aren’t going to be made anymore. Call them yourself if you don’t believe me, it’s super foolish. Anyways, maybe now that the coroneyvirus is chilling out, and people are working outside again, perhaps they’ll get their heads out of their asses, and start creating tools we need and want. I have three blue 8 cubic foot wheelbarrows, and they’re all broken. From logs and mulch. Can’t buy them, they’re not made at the moment. Have a nice day.
Your story passed my feed and 😡ANGERED😡 the snot out of me! I know some people mulch different me and my guys use pitchforks to spread it and put nice lines in it and have a nice rolled Edge I do understand it is a little bit slower but customers love the look
That second sign was in even worst shape. Total neglect from city employees. Everyone is all excited to put these signs and landscaping in but if they’re not maintained it’s just a waste of money.
The definition of an evil parent is: punish children for doing good. The insanity and evil of these bureaucrats' action to threaten a lawsuit cost the city more than the donated labor and materials. Power freaks. The City needs to publicly apologize to Mike and thank him for his service!
How's it going I'm actually thinking of buying a dump trailer for my business But I have A150 Dodge truck What size dump trailer Do you suggest I should get Thank you
They're a few out there that it's just the concentration and all you gotta do is mix with water in the sprayer tank. You can find it at Walmart, Lowe's and home Depot. If you want the professional grade you can buy them ragan and Massey's website
@@MikeAndes Thanks for answering, interesting! I'm wondering if it's possible to further improve efficiency (for mowing) by using automation technology. Maybe not these small battery powered devices for private customers, but something bigger, based on mowers you use at the moment and equipped with sensors, camera etc and the ability to move by itself. And instead of pushing a single mower manually, one could instead configure and control 4 of them that do the work in parallel semi-automated. Are there already robots for professional use available or is it more complicated than I think?
If I tried to do this with my minivan do you think I would have to worry about people taking me seriously? Do you think I should remove my political stickers from the van?

You are wasting time and energy climbing into that trailer to scoop mulch. You could pull that trailer onto ramp block and use a custom funnel gate to slide mulch into the wheel barrow. Loading should take very little time and effort, efficiency is profit. When loading over grass use a white cloth painter's tarp with a board attached to 2 sided, holds it down in the wind and makes it easy to roll up, also the white cloth won't burn grass. The tarp can also be laid over the mulch on the way to the job, for anybody without the trailer tarp.

*_What does one cubic yard of mulch cost in your area?_*
25-30 a yard if you pick it up. Near your ny loco. For delivery it depends how far and how much you get
$33 here in Louisiana
Black or brown is about $35 here is SC. Undyed is about $24.

You got this!! Bands are a great place to get started for resistance training and you can do it from home. Good luck!

I'm thinking a 2 wheeled wheelbarrow cant make tight turns between rocks and other obstructions
Maneuvering a double wheel barrow sucks
When the city can’t take care of important areas like this tells you something. Great work sir .
Decided to follow after the little lab pup gave a fact about the truck in the video. Professional and interactive. Good stuff! And greta video!
Dear City of Blaine, stop being jerks. Thank you from every logical person on the planet.
I charge at least $110 per yard to put it down. It cost me $38 per cubic yard to buy from supplier
Beauty bark adds a beautiful touch!
Lol the ending had me laughing. You don’t subscribe your worst customers I’ll call 😂
Used work for the state of VA making mulch when I was 18, hell of a job grinding trees and screening 💪

Hey what did you decide to use f or the weed killer? Im starting up this with my friend and it would be helpful knowing what to use.
Acetic acid is a contact weed killer. Diluted 10:1 white vinegar
Great work, looks fantastic
I know some people mulch different me and my guys use pitchforks to spread it and put nice lines in it and have a nice rolled Edge I do understand it is a little bit slower but customers love the look

Great job Mike!
8:49 what are u spraying?
Interesting work there. Looks great.
Thanks man your awsome looks like I've been leaving money on the table with this one. Thanks 😊 🙏
Very good job and good advertisement with the busy road right there like you had said you had received a few calls already

Love these types of videos

Also watched this one too.... From copper Creek channel!!!
Well done Mike!
What kind of spray do you use? I saw you mention it in one of your videos but I cannot find it anymore.
This was a good move I like it good job
Great video!
thanks on the tips in mowing grass buddy again you welcome
thanks a million sir!!
your videos are helpful indeed to me in pa - state
Put a tarp under the back of your truck on street and or yard saves 10 min or so on clean up
If it's a really hot day a tarp can burn grass in a few hours, especially a black tarp.
@@newsweathertraffic18 if that's the case you shouldn't drive on the lawn or put the muffler to close to grass my guy
Awesome job
Wide pitch forks work easier than the plastic shovels and big plastic leaf rakes work better to even out the mulch and used upside down . 🤓
How many cubic yards does your trailer carry and what size is it??? Nice content btw!
Yard or cheapest commercial bark is around 60 a yard at all my local landscape yards in the central coast california
I really like this video and as a free service I did not like the City complaint. Good job making their city looking 👍 👌
Can I just ask what pants and boots you always wear??
Wolverine boots and Amazon pants (tactical)
Mike needs to get his pesticide license.
Probably not smart enough....
You could probably study tonight and take the test tomorrow. :)
Idk about Washington, but the test in Michigan was stupidly easy. I had to take it for a class in college lol, i have never used pesticides in my life

Should get at least a 100 bucks a yard to put mulch down
I am not sure if that is possible where I live ? guess it depends on the median income of the area where you live.
Thank you man awesome video
What are you spraying in the beds that doesn't kill the other plants ?
And the city of Blaine is trying to sue for your awesome work! Unbelievable
What do you use to spray weeds
How's it going I'm actually thinking of buying a dump trailer for my business But I have A150 Dodge truck What size dump trailer Do you suggest I should get Thank you
Nothing much bigger than a 7x10
If you have a cheap wheelbarrow tire and low $ greenslime in a can it's like fix a flat but way better
What pants are those? I need those for when I'm on overgrown properties!
What company do you use to make your shirts ?
Hi what happens if the customer want to bring the mulch how much you think charge ? I need advice thank you
We usually require us to handle materials to avoid miscommunication and delivery snafus
What pants are you wearing?
Just some tactical pants from Amazon
"Trespassing" love how cities think people are trespassing on **Public** property
Good job
What do you spray the weeds with? Is it something generic from big box stores?

@@isaacartavia6278 it’s a vinegar based herbicide
How come you didn’t use plastics under mulch
Probably would have been convicted of littering by the city 😂
what's your average ratio between time doing actual work at the customer and time inside your car/driving to the next customer?
For mowing, ideally less than 20% drive time... really depends on size of property and route density

Left the weeds growing in the concrete along the curb.
Hurts the look of the whole job.
Would have taken 1 minute more to do it all properly.
