We didn’t really notice it as much in Banja Luka, but I ended up wearing pants most of the time even though it’s still very warm here so I felt like I fit in a little more. In most of the places we went, there were very few people wearing shorts

Most people in Banja Luka speak English, there shouldn't be a language barrier.
To understand why they are similar - you have to know the history.
