I'm with you ... I am tired of these resellers that buy designer clothes at Goodwill... where I live that isn't an option and I make my money with things I buy for $1 and resell for 10 to 20 dollars .. and I am ok with that . Someone has to sell that stuff :)

Love this video. I also live in a small town that does not have higher quality items. I decided earlier this year that I am not doing what the resellers do that are able to find better items. It is a good policy to do the best you can do and make your business follow that idea. Not everyone can find the $50+ items and can not drive hours away to possibly find them. Keep up the good job! You are going great and are an inspiration to us all.

@@JenntheReSeller I would love to see a video of you explaining boundaries you’ve set in your business to keep the main thing the main thing. I know this is one of your many priorities after your family and other things. I would love to see what you have learned in terms of protecting and maintaining the priorities in your life. With this being self employment- it’s so easy to never let ourselves get a break. I’ve learned a lot about your schedule of buying and how you set the boundary to not regularly go to the bins with the distance being so great. And you have the set day you shop each week. I would love to hear more of the boundaries that work for you so we can continue to evaluate and consider options that may work for our business.
One of the boundaries I’ve set is having an old phone be the main phone I use for the business so I’m not ALWAYS working on my phone. But I have a separate device for that.

In my opinion, I think that comment was spot on what that lady said. At the end of the day when you compare your life to others, it is an insecurity within yourself that you have to fix. We all have different lifestyles and what might work for you doesn't work for someone else. We also all buy and have different tastes:) We also have only so much room in our homes! I sell for fun so I only store in one closet while others will use a whole basement or warehouse to store things in. Also, reselling is a LOT of work even on a small scale. It's fun to shop but you also have to measure, price, store, describe, photograph and hope the item sells! Keep doing what you're doing and don't focus on what others are boasting about

Thank you so much. I just started reselling this year a way to fill my days (the good ones) after I became disabled with Leukemia. I like you, have lower priced things. Sometimes I find a "banger" but mostly it's vintage odds and ends. I see those other RUclipsrs and my husband and I laugh sometimes at how easy they make it look. With all that being said, thank you again for your content. And you are absolutely enough.

Oh Jenn… you called it with some of the RUclips resellers. If you’ve been watching the one you are speaking of for any length of time you should remember that just a few months ago he was telling us to go out and pick up all the stuff he is saying to NOT buy now. He keeps changing his business model. And there is nothing wrong with that but he needs to be honest like you are and say it’s what works for him and it is up to each individual person on how they want to run their business. Hubby even said why did you stop selling all different stuff you were doing so well.

I put in 10 - 12 hours a week in my reselling business. I sell mostly things family and friends donate to me to sell. My average item sells for $18-$20. I average $450 take home a month. I keep things simple for myself by selling on Poshmark, Mercari, Grailed and Depop. And yes, I use Vendoo! This helps pay bills and unexpected expenses. I'm very OK with this.

Working a 40 hour job and 15 hours on the resell gig, I hope to improve my abilities to retire early and make income with reselling at my most potential. I watch so many other resellers to gain knowledge, their input to improve is great, however I pick and choose what will improve my module for business. I am frugal and do not pay into discords and virtual assistants. One person show over here and if I double my investment, then I am doing something right! It really has served as a reminder to accept what is reasonable for me. I work full time, and am hoping to retire soon. The closest bins for me is 90 miles away and it is always a gamble if it is even worth the trip! It is far better for me to combine a fun trip away and drive to either Seattle or Portland. I thank you, as you have reminded me to break it down to ‘SMART’ goals & to accept there are limits to what I can reasonably do. I wish you had a buy me a coffee or something like that love to send a thank you occasionally for all your efforts on all our behalf😉💗

I feel a lot of RUclips resellers make it sound like they charging big dollars for everything but then they say o we took an offer, I use my time spent in figuring income, i buy alot of items on eBay but I’ve noticed over the last year that prices are much higher, and you can often buy better quality items at better prices in other stores and get free shipping and shipping is usually faster. Same time I hear resellers are saying they’re having difficult Time making $$$$. I try to touch things as little as possible and move things out. But I do have items worth alot. I sometimes think YT resellers like to make it sound like they’re rolling in $$$$$. New to your YT channel feels comfy. Thank you

You are so right. I watch those videos to learn brands so I know if I happen to run across them. Rarely, if ever. I sell a lot "they" say not to. Maurice's for one. My averages are usually between $10-20 per item. If I sell something for more, it's very exciting. I have no desire to do this full time, I don't think I would enjoy it anymore. Even Walmart stuff will sell. I had a pair of capris from Walmart that I liked. When I went back to get another pair they didn't have them anymore. I bought two more off Poshmark. I think it's important to remember that there are people also that are looking for items that are not high end.

Thank you so much for this video! I know what you mean. I live in a small town in Southeastern Ky with 8000 people. We have 2 thrift stores besides a flea market and a vendor's mall. Within a 40 mile radius of me there are only 5 other Goodwills and we all know how they are jacking up their prices. $6 for a pair of shorts. And not many if any upscaled brands. The closest Goodwill Outlet store to me is in Louisville 2 hours away to my north and 3 hours to Nashville to my Southwest. So its very rare that I have $2 or less for average cost of goods. I just started teaching middle school 7 years ago at 53 and I just turned 60 in May so durinig the school year time and energy is low. But...I have been doing Ebay off and on since around 2000 when it was harder. I don't make gobs of money on Ebay and sometimes that does bring me down, but I usually completely pay for our vacations with Ebay money and little bits of other things, Its not my "living" but now that I am doing it more "on" than "off" hopefully when I retire in the next few years, I will be doing this better. I love that you addressed this I thought I was the only one who stopped and even unsubscribed to watching some folks for just this reason. I know I work hard, but some of these folks are just producing Clickbait for funding their RUclips careers. This is just not an apples to apples business. Either way this was a breath of fresh air. Appreciate this and all of your videos I watch while I pack and list. Keep’em coming Jen! 😊✔️

I did a video on comparison also! It can be very disheartening. I've been reselling 12+ years and I'm still not making the money some of these guys do! I've had to limit my consumption of the big guys/girls videos. Loved the video! I'm in a small town in California and my sourcing is not great either. We do what we can!

I love this video. I’m retired and my husband and I have downsized to live near the Grandkids. We love our little house and our little town. I sell bras since they don’t up too much space. I also sell jeans and hard goods. This is a stress free job for me and I don’t compare my sales. You have reinforced my thoughts on how I value my part time job. Cheers to you for sharing that we all are doing our best.

I love your perspective and the honest approach. Admittedly, I have also stopped watching some content creators because I find myself getting discouraged. I have to remind myself that Rome wasn’t built in a day and I’m making small strides every day.

Yes, very true. Unfortunately, many RUclips resellers hyped up their sales numbers. I am also in the midwest. In Michigan, I'm very close to Indiana. I sell many items for $2-$5. So many RUclips resellers say don't sell anything under xx amount. I disagree and sell what I can find.
I also went rogue myself and actually don't sell on Ebay at all. I sell on my own website, Facebook, and Mercari only.
Very few people know that a lot of my time is also spent caring for my mom. I wouldn't change it for the world. I am not getting rich. I'm just trying to keep my head above water.
I also have a very small RUclips channel I am trying to grow and find it hard to find time to do everything. I have come to the conclusion to do as much as I can and keep it moving forward.
It is very rare to find videos speaking from the heart.
Don't compare yourself to anyone, and just be true to yourself, which is the best I feel.

Completely understand what you are saying. I live in a very small rural town, population of 4,000, so have to source a little differently than other resellers. I have gotten to the point where I watch RUclips channels purely for entertainment because I have noticed over the past year or so that it appears many of these so called resellers aren’t receiving a majority, if any, of their income from actually reselling, but rather from their RUclips content. So I consider them content creators rather than resellers.
Some haven’t actually sold a single thing on eBay in months, yet claim to be an expert eBay reseller… hmm 🤔 that doesn’t make any sense in my opinion.
I really appreciate your content. Thank you for keeping it real.

You are so awesome to address this Jenn. I sell on eBay because it honestly brings me joy. It's my hobby and my favourite thing to do in my spare time. Sales are fun but not the number one thing l concentrate on because l have another job. I love that eBay gives 'stuff' new life. It makes me happy, but not so much money.

Girl, I wish I had as many sells as you :-), I'm learning a lot from watching you and others that show what they sold. I am in the Fort Worth, TX area and you would think I could find a ton of stuff that would sell, but it is not that easy. I work full time and have a family also so I only have Sat. and Sun. to thrift. So much competition!

The person you are referring to that did the “Copy This” video had actually quit reselling 6 or 7 months ago to sell real estate. After getting whooped at that he comes back to reselling after just a few weeks and has anointed himself a reselling guru. So why did he quit if he was doing so well??? He is one of the worst click baiters out there.

I just take what works for me from everyones videos. The whole 6 figure reseller thing does drive me a little bonkers. Ok is that NET donu have employees?? Like i never ever want to employee people! I love that other people that do but thats not my thing. i like ur ( and others) transparency! I also value being at home so i have no desire to spend 20 plus hours outside the home sourcing so im fine selling lower dollar items. Yes i know u can source online and sometimes i do but its not my main thing and thats fine! Everyone needs to donwhat is best for them and their families. Ty for all ur great info

I feel this especially when things are slow. July has been extraordinarily slow for me and it’s hitting me hard mentally. I think there are things are within our control, and a lot more that aren’t. I know who you’re talking about in this video and I stopped watching him because it wasn’t relatable to me. We all have our responsibilities outside of reselling and I think generally working in or out of the home is just harder for women, if not only for the mental load that we carry. Keep doing your best mama, we’re all just making it work.
