Boom it worked ,lol , write site address in the top main search bar not in your Google browser page bar , for to access the right site with the code box
Thank you - works fine! One additional information for nationonal keyboards: In case of national keyboards please consider that the keyboard on boot time is set to EN-US! In my case I have a German keyboard in German and my unlock code contained a 'y'. On German keyboards the key for 'z' and 'y' are changed. So I had to input my unlock key with a 'z' instead of a 'y'
I could not believe it until I saw it. This method worked to release the BIOS lock that was present on the Latitude E6410 I purchased from a University salvage store. With the BIOS released I could continue with the rebuild and upgrades. Update: the machine is now running Win 10 Pro-64 bit. Thank you so much sir as Dell and the University's IT department were as helpful as a space heater in hell.
At first glance I really thought to myself "there's no way it's that easy to fix" becuase I had literally tried everything else. But low and behold, it actually did work. Thank you very much!
works like a charm ! Thank you sir ! Note that the keyboard mapping in the BIOS settings is set to QWERTY, so if you are on an AZERTY keyboard (FR), find the good keys :)
Ok just used german keyboard and the key 'ü' for '['. And at the end CTRL ENTER instead of just ENTER or OK. Worked like a charm on an Optiplex 7060 Micro. Thank you very mich guys.
Worked for Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1 (BF97). Make sure to press Ctrl+Enter (not Enter) after typing the generated password into BIOS. Thank you so very much!
Thank you. This worked. If you are having trouble, here are some things I went through: - I think it is IMPERATIVE that you press CTRL + ENTER - If you have what seems like a long code, it is not. Each line is a code to enter. - It is case sensitive
I forgot my password after I set it years ago but now I need it to upgrade my hard drive to a SSD. This method 100% removed my old bios PW and allowed to to set a new one. Thank you
What am I supposed to do if I’m on latitude 3120. It isn’t giving me the (dell from serial number) password all its giving me is Dell HDD Serial Number (old). I don’t understand and i cant find anything or anyone who has the same problem or the answer to it
And of course on a lot of Dell Laptops for example, you can't reset by opening it up. Even if you disconnect the CMOS battery AND the main battery and leave it for a day AND hold down the power button for 20 seconds to drain residual power... After all that, the damn password is still set lol This worked a treat :)
Fantastico! Obrigado, meu!
This was great! I just got a lot of laptops from an org for the class I teach & they had them password protected so I couldn't reimage them. But this just worked on one of them so I am assuming it will work on all of them!
Thank you som much! I have a desktop Dell 7020 and it would not boot from my SSD unlock I looked into the BIOs and saw it was locked. By following your tip I got it to boot. Btw it was set in legacy which it won't boot it from until I unlocked it and set it to UEFI. Thank you again!
It really works! I helped me to recover but what if you want to setup an admin password for company laptops, the security layer in this case would easy for someone that is tech habbit??
Worked for me! Had to do it about five times because my 0 (zero) looked like am "O" and didn't have a line through it... Booted from USB to put Linux on old Dell.
hi , Nice !! it's ok on my DELL latitudes E5520 .!! Be careful, when you type the key in the bios, the keyboard is in QWERTY for the french user !! Thk !!
Didn't believe it would work that simple - but it did (Dell Latitude 5491) 🙂 As already mentioned before, be aware that the keyboard layout is set to ENG-US when entering the password !!
I Kept thinking this was some sort of scam. But here I am with a bios unlocked Dell 7710 laptop. THIS WORKS JUST KNOW EVERYTHING IS CASE SENSITIVE! yanks sao mash!
good afternoon, I did this procedure but on mine it just appeared: Dell HDD serial number (old) 66666m6s. no new serial appeared. how to proceed. thankful
Heads up for those with Latitude 74xx with an -8FC8 tag, does not work, nor does removing CMOS battery. Other, more difficult and expensive methods are possible for these.
Boom it worked ,lol , write site address in the top main search bar not in your Google browser page bar , for to access the right site with the code box
Is there any risk associated with this procedure? I have E5470 Latitude
@@LubaLuba1
No risk, works well
Sir if we change ssd or hdd to other then bios password or windows pasword will remove or not?
Fuck YES!!!!!
Help me with the Dell latitude 7400 please

As for me it seems not working,
Werd. I tried first without the Control button since I jumped ahead and it totally worked once I noticed that it was needed for my Latitude.
@@yostix hey I followed every step but when I got to the admin password it say admin password is set and I forget the password. Help
works like a charm ! Thank you sir ! Note that the keyboard mapping in the BIOS settings is set to QWERTY, so if you are on an AZERTY keyboard (FR), find the good keys :)
Great insight! Thanks!!
I need to use some special characters like [. So which keaboard (I have here a QWERTZ german one) should be used for that, an US one?
Ok just used german keyboard and the key 'ü' for '['. And at the end CTRL ENTER instead of just ENTER or OK. Worked like a charm on an Optiplex 7060 Micro. Thank you very mich guys.
Worked perfectly! Was taking the pc apart and nothing worked, but CTRL+Enter after typing the password worked! Thank you so much!
Worked for Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1 (BF97). Make sure to press Ctrl+Enter (not Enter) after typing the generated password into BIOS.

This didn't work for me, same laptop but no code generated. Any ideas?
Mine didn't work either,
Thank you. This worked. If you are having trouble, here are some things I went through:

CTRL left or right ?
Dell 5490 worked on the second password. Thanks allot great work
I forgot my password after I set it years ago but now I need it to upgrade my hard drive to a SSD. This method 100% removed my old bios PW and allowed to to set a new one. Thank you
This worked great on my Dell Precision 7520. It was definitely case sensitive and I had to hold CTRL while pressing enter like the website mentions.

same, did you find any solution ?
Make sure to press Ctrl + Enter
While you complete to write serial numbers
The pasword is not work 😢
dude thank you so much this literally saved me opening up the inside my laptop and looking for the password reset jumper (whatever that is)
on a E7470 I removed the battery and the bios battery and still it did not reset the admin password, but the approach in this vide worked just fine
Brilliant, do press Ctrl and Enter simultaneously
Brilliant works !! so much easier than opening the case and reseting.

Worked perfectly! The key for me was to press Ctrl+Enter after typing in the Serial Number key.

Hahaha! É osso. Às vezes o Google da um suporte melhor que os próprios fabricantes.
Worked like a charm. I was finally able to re-set my admin password and update my BIOS. Thanks so much.

It doesn't work for 8fc8 bios, only for older ones.
In case of some DELL models, like Latitude E5520, the ENTER key must be pressed twice.
This was great! I just got a lot of laptops from an org for the class I teach & they had them password protected so I couldn't reimage them. But this just worked on one of them so I am assuming it will work on all of them!
