Great fun piece! The colors were really interesting but worked so well. I'm not an artist( can't draw) and had no idea markers did so much. I really enjoyed your energy!!!
Love that you’re showing how to just jump in and not be afraid of trying. You have been inspiring me and helping me get to the point where the point of art is to feel good, be fun and experiment! I’m appreciating you! 🥰
You're just wonderful. Exactly what I needed! I am working through my perfectionism and letting go of the need to have a purpose for everything I do, so stumbling on to you was perfect! You are so inspiring and needed. Thank you for what you are doing! 😘😘😘 all of the boops.🥰😘
Amen! Kristy is a life saver for this old lady just learning to paint and who is struggling to overcome perfectionism. A breath of spring and SO joyful to watch.
Hello from Scotland 👋 new sub here, discovered you from searching beginner watercolour and really enjoying your perspective on achievable painting ...now binge watching your channel 😂..thank you!
Hello!!! Oh I need to get back to Scotland one day soon! Thank you for trusting me and being here! Let me know if there’s anything I should add to my filming to-do list!!
@@KristyRice Scotland is beautiful especially if you’re a landscape painter..I’d love to get back to USA again soon too...hopefully one day 🤞..I was given gouache paints at Christmas and scared to use them as I hear they dry out quickly and don’t store well...so a beginners gouache series would be fab 🤗
*GASP* She said it... I was only brave enough to think it. All that planning, sketching, thumbnailing, all that put me off of painting. I just want to sit down and paint. So glad that's not just me 😊😊😊
@@KristyRice Thank you! I am digging in more. And loving it, finally. Less frustration now that I'm learning more. By the way: Ecoline is manufactured in the country where I'm from, The Netherlands.
What a beautiful painting you. Reared. It really asks me to right now take a brush and follow. Taking my watercolors. The Ecolines are such a feast for eyes and soul, but I guess, I can’t have it all. Thank you for offering so colorful persuasions -:)
This video reminded me of the time when I got my gouache and alcohol markers for the first time. I pretty quickly went to do/try full scale illustrations because honestly, I learn the best by that way. So what if it turns bad? It was my first try! Next one can be better!
Kristy I absolutely loved watching you create this with such a relaxed and free approach. Poppies are such a free flower, nothing formal about them. Your composition is very appealing to my eyes, I think that’s what ended up being what drew me in to your painting more than any one part of it. I don’t know if that makes sense, but that is how I feel. Yummy 😍
Are poppies this colour where your from? I'm in the UK but never seen one this colour. Just found you and have subscribed. I bought these for myself for christmas but been too scared to try them
@@dionneeason hahaha don’t be sorry! I realized I never filled in the materials section for this vid so had to check! I’ll make an announcement here once they’re back in stock!
What fun that was!!! I always wondered how to use the brush pens or markers in with paint so thanks so much. Now I can have a blast with my new Arteza brush pens. I hope they play nicely. Do you know anything about them?
@@lavondamatherly4499 Oh you'll have so much fun! I haven't tried the Arteza brush pens BUT I know they appear to be similar to the Zigs which have a much more brushlike tip than these ecolines.

Go for it!

Have you ever tried painting??? You def don’t need to draw to make awesome art!!!
Super excited to hear your thoughts on composition!
Yay!!! This is just a little teaser!!!

I got these markers for Christmas, and I absolutely LOVEEEE THEM!!! They’re so much fun. 🌈🌈🌈
Aren’t they sooo fun??!

This looks way better than the water color pencils ! Thank you 🙏

Great video. ...beautiful poppies and gorgeous colors ....would love to see your painting framed...thank you so much 😊
Thank you!!
Another great video, I had no idea “markers” could do that! Beautiful
Oh they are super fun!! And thanks!!
If you are looking for a brush marker with a SUPER flexible nib, the molotow aqua color brush markers are fabulous!
Ohhh thanks!!! Just fueling my obsession!!
Loved this!! I have new acrylic paints, so it's time to go and play!! Thank you ❤
Yes yes go!!
I love to swatch new materials but I don't plan anything but commissions! When I want to play, I get right down to it!!
Yessss!!!
This is crazy good!
Thank you!!
Really enjoy u! I learn something every time I watch!
Ohhh my gosh yay! So glad to hear it! XO
Awesome video. I was given some watercolor ink this year been nervous on how to use them
Be nervous no more: Just sit down and have it a go!!!
Love your philosophy Kristy! I just bought a set of Arteza watercolor brushes and honestly I’ve been a bit intimidated by them. I will be diving in!!

Those are awesome. I have a brand that will not bleed when added to a puddle of water.
Oh that’s a bummer!

Awesome way to think about it ☺️

Bahaha @ giving the video a boop! Love it. Those markers are fun. I. Must. Not. Buy. Good composition advice too.
They are ridiculously fun but not cheap omg! You can do the same thing with paint and brush, promise!

Hi Kristy. I personally found that the Ecoline worked better on a smooth paper (-: Marion
Now I want to try on hot press!
The second you said rough I was like...."wait won't that fray the markers faster???"

Yes we have Icelandic poppies that are yellow and orange but they are smaller in size. So glad you’re here!!
can't find these on Amazon. Do you have a direct link. The link you provided is not taking me to the brushes. Thank you ☺️
My brushes or the markers? My brushes sold out on Monday. Hope to have back in stock by Tuesday
