I don't think it's good to make games easier for 'accessibility' reasons. What games should be doing, is be approachable and understandable, not easier. It could be done through better tutorials, through special controllers, through easier piloting, through actually good colourblind mode, through options for blind people. While keeping game itself challenging, if it's what developers intend.
I'm not saying all games should be difficult, punishing or challenging. but i don't think accessibility should be a reason to make them easy. There lots of way to bring onboard people who require accessibility, so they could enjoy challenging games as well.
Invention of good tutorials would make complicated games so much better. Becuase ALL tutorials right now are is checklist of controls and game mechanics once. people don't learn like this, people require repetition over time to remember something. They just throw everything at you in first 5 mins, and you forget half of it by the time tutorial is over. which is what alienates wider audience, but nobody talks about it.
