I’m from NW Oklahoma, have worn boots for a long time, probably 74 years. Generally when I leave the house I’ve got boots on. These are ready to go dancing again!!! I’ve also told a couple of fellows out here who do shoe repair about your channel, I’m sure that they enjoy it too.
Hey Fellas! I really enjoyed the improvements you made to this woman's boots. I wish I had a pair of my own to send to you for repair. I love your work. As usual, Great Job Fellas
I appreciate how you feature different kinds of boots with different stich methods, i.e. blake, goodyear, chain, etc. That's helpful since it visually demonstrates to me how certain stitch methods could affect the profile / silohouette of the shoe. Thanks for the learning!
Yeah i like the ratchet belts. Dont have that brand but I've got a Kore ratchet gun belt and i like it a lot, holds my gun up well and has lots of adjustment.
Great video and great job as always. Would you ever give us a video resoling some Ariats? I know they're not a traditional construction but I think it'd be interesting to see what goes into resoling them!
I have a pair of Frye cowgirl boots! They’re vintage, though I’m not sure exactly what vintage specifically, and I love them. I got them on eBay, and when I got them, the rubber heel pads were totally gone, and the previous person had apparently gone right on wearing them on just the heel blocks. 🤦🏼♀️ Speaking of driving on the rims… but I got them repaired straight away, and they have a better home now.
1:10...tapping the boot with that look ......BWAHAHAA. I get it. I am in automotive and this poor old woman brought in a 2002 Concorde. We opened the hood and I could have done the same thing with the engine bay....Keep up the good work fella's.
This video feels like déjà vu like I’ve seen it before is this a reupload 🤔 but never the less still an amazing video and love watching boots get brought back to life again.
Good catch! I had to go back and check myself. We actually had a number of cowboy boots in-house that we were resoling. The pair in the video and the boots on the thumbnail look exactly the same on the sole (except for the tacks on the waist). We accidentally grabbed the wrong pair for the thumbnail. Good eye. Our mistake. Hope you still enjoyed the video.
hey gents, i'm really enjoying the restauration vids on your channel. thank you!. makes me want to ask, would you accept a restauration job on my REDWING logger boots? i really like these boots and they are no longer being made. would be great if you could help. cheers. Eddie.
Hello, please tell me what glue do you use? Which company? Please describe the sequence of actions when gluing. I want to update the soles on my boots myself...)
G’day and greetings from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺 it’s always fascinating watching how restore what seems to be a disaster and looked like they were read for the bin, your skills are terrific and I never miss an episode. I know I’ve said it before but you must have good hand wash some of these shoes would really stink! Kind regards John
Thanks so much for watching! We’d love to get down to Tasmania one day. Haha…surprisingly, by the time most of them get to us, the smell is long gone. 😄
A comment from down under here. Hardly in any cobbler videos can we see rubber gloves being worn. Can anyone with experience in this industry comment pl?
Deja Vu. Just as good the second time around. But we get it . Making sandals is probably making it difficult for making new content . Unless it's a video showing us the making of the new flip flops. 😉 One on the way?
Shhhh! 😁😉 Haha…yeah, getting these sandals up and going, since bringing them back here, has been quite time consuming. Yep, that video is in the works now.
Would you be able to resole a pair of Mark Nason boots!! They started talking to me from the back heel, I didn't even know it until I got home and took the boot off
Question off topic about Blake stitching. It is possible to resolve a limited amount of time Blake stiched shoes. Fine. But when do you really need to do that? Can't I just put an antislip rubber grip under the outsole and just change that everytime it needs to? Should I still resole a Blake stiched outsole?
Good cowboy boots are an investment. I couldn’t even think about them getting that torn up. Even ranch workers get their boots rebuilt before they get to that state. Since they had leather board heels, maybe they weren’t that much of an investment.
have you guys ever thought about creating your own shoe brand? either cowboy, casual or formal, I do believe you would come up with some tremendous creations, Id definitely get me a few of them if you guys did for sure
Two completely different questions for you. I'm curious about the sharpening of the hand tools you use, like the edger and the knife to cut the sole off. Do you resharpen or are they a throw away item? The other question, do you build/offer shoes built from scratch?
I paid 5$ at a thrift store for my pair of Frye boots. It had been put with the Halloween costumes. Their sole is in neoprene and I'm pretty sure the heel block is in plastic, but they are they only pair of footwear that I don,t have to use my orthotic insoles with.
Great job. Those boots look great. I love cowboy boots but i cant wear them, the heels are too high for me and put too much pressure on the balls of my feet. Which is a drag cos i'd love a pair.
Those turned out great. Well done! I always click the "like" button for your videos. I know it takes a lot of time and effort to make the videos, and I get a lot of entertainment out of them. I figure the least I can do is click a mouse button by way of saying thanks. Sooooo, thanks!
HI fellas I'm trying to find a cobbler in Baltimore Maryland so if you guys know of any please let me know I took a pair of shoes to have the soles replaced and they cut my shoe
It really depends upon what you’re using them for and how much you want to spend. If you’re looking for just a traditional cowboy boot, Lucchese, Dan Post, Rios of Mercedes are some higher quality ones. If you’re not picky and want just a very comfortable, good looking boot then Tecovas aren’t bad. I have a couple of pairs and really like them.
@Trenton and Heath would you be able to size down a pair of men's boots to fit a woman's foot? My dad passed away and I have a pair of his boots that he would wear often. I would love to wear them in his memory but they are far too big for me.
Just a suggestion (until experienced ppl comment.) If half or 1 size bigger, use double in sole and if needed, a back of heel padding can be used. Insoles are expected to push feet up for a snuggle fit, keeping on mind the size as noted.
@TrentonHeath Saw you cleaning these boots with Saddle soap. How often do you recommend cleaning your shoes/bags/belts with Saddle soap to keep them in the best possible condition? I condition my shoes as I wear them, but have not cleaned them either Saddle soap. Thanks so much!!!
They were purchased by another German tanning company called Kilger. The brand now reads JR by Kilger on the soles. They are tanning the leather soles using the exact process that JR has been using for decades.
I grew up here in north central Texas and I am 64 years old now. I look at boots like that, and have at least 12 pair ,and i know that they look battered and wore out to most people. To the people wearing those boots, they see life lived, the good AND the bad but they are part of every single day gone by,and the many or few still to come . The only thing that will make a cowboy madder than messing with his boots, is messing with his hat.😊
Hi T & H, I have been watching your videos for a few years and there is a question that I have for you. Why would someone pick a leather outer sole rather than vibrams or using sole protectors? Is it the feel or because it is "fancy". Just curious
Thanks for watching! Yes, it’s a little of both. Leather soles are dressier, they breathe a bit better, and for some shoes (like loafers),they are the primary part you stand on, so they form a bit more to the foot. Rubber soles also have their advantages.
@@TrentonHeath Yeah I bought some Thursday boots (completely love them) and one pair had leather soles and the other had vibrams and I was just wondering why. Thanks for your videos Guys, you have people watching you from Australia :)

Then you know where Woodward is.
I’m from the small town Sharon 15 miles south.
My favorites are the cowboy boot restorations and I have a very favorite pair of Tony Lamas to send to you to be restored.
Hey Fellas! I really enjoyed the improvements you made to this woman's boots. I wish I had a pair of my own to send to you for repair. I love your work. As usual, Great Job Fellas
Thanks so much!
Saturday morning with a cup of tea and a Trenton and Heath video. That's the proper way to start the weekend.
We very much appreciate it! Enjoy your weekend and the tea.
I understand, as I have worn my Frye boots to the point of needing a whole sole replacement, yeah I love these old boots.
Total transformation on those! Well done!
Thank you!
Those look gorgeous. This refurb really shows the value of recrafting vs. replacing good shoes.
I like drinking a cup of coffee and watching your videos. God bless, and Merry Christmas to all.
Great job on the resoles. Have a great weekend gentlemen.
Thank you! You as well.
Love z
Watching your work every Saturday morning.
Thanks so much for watching! We really appreciate it.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again... I love this channel. It's crazy how relaxing and informational watching shoe repair is. LOL
The really look so improved and hardly the same old boot that came in!
Love the show. My 7 year old son loves watching too. We say you're the "Sole Brothers"
Wow great job. It would be cool to see the reveal to the customers to see their reactions.
oh my that polish came out amazing
Thank you for the boot repair! Looks great!
I can't afford decent boots
Thank you! We always appreciate you watching.
Wow! Fantastic. I could watch this all day.

Solid rebuild.
Yeah i like the ratchet belts. Dont have that brand but I've got a Kore ratchet gun belt and i like it a lot, holds my gun up well and has lots of adjustment.
No question - she’ll love them!
Nice. I’d send you mine but they’re just some ol Abilene boots I’ve neglected pretty well and good.
Nice job. Thanks for taking us along.
muy buen trabajo los felicito saludos desde Nebraska usa
That was so satisfying to watch
I almost forgot to like
This was a great video!
Thank you for adding that part of the video so I could like and comment.
Fine!

I love these videos so much it is just relaxing the sounds of shoe cobbling.

Fascinating to watch you guys do your work and see the awesome results. 👍👍

Nice work Trent!
OMG they spruced up great. Smashing job.
Great job. Why didn't you put cork in these boots?
That's an art to watch
Nice job!! Heading to your site to see if I can send you mine. They haven't been worn as much as the ones in the video, but they need some love.
I want to see the buckle bunny who wears these boots 🥰
Nice ! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful job, and as always highly educational.
Beautiful job
Wow nice work

Fantastic job!

Quedaron perfectas excelente trabajo amigo trabajan con calidad
amazing work 🙏
Do you guys do Carhartt boots
Great job on these, they look awesome
Great Video Thanks
Amazing! Yep, I subscribed.
Why is the sole in the thumbnail not an image of the boot in the video? The boot in the video didn't seem to have nails in the waist.

When you glue the soles to shoes how long do you leave them under the press for?
With us, we usually leave them on 30 seconds or so.
It depends on the material. The material determines the time and pressure. Anywhere between 15 sec and 5 mins.
Beautiful work.
Thanks!
Y’all ever reshape the toe box? Like from a square to a round? Thank you.
My favorite part of these vids is the ambient noise.. all the sounds of the tools…

What do you guys do with all the scrap leather after a work order? Do you throw it away or send it somewhere for recycling?
Why did you use foam instead of cork like you normally do
How can I send in my boots to get repaired? I’ve looked at all three businesses and can’t find a link or information on your repair business.
those poor boots had a rough time of it ! glad to see em prettied up!

Maybe try ropers instead or the traditional cowboy heel. I have several pairs of ropers and they fee much better in the heel.
Chisos boots are specifically designed to be kinder on the feet.

Just a general question here, if one was to send a cleaned and hydrated pair of boots in need of a resole how much time would that save y'all?
:) We hope folks will send them in at least cleaned off a bit, but it doesn’t save all that much time. Conditioning them is the easy part.
@Trenton and Heath would you be able to size down a pair of men's boots to fit a woman's foot? My dad passed away and I have a pair of his boots that he would wear often. I would love to wear them in his memory but they are far too big for me.

Just as needed. Unless the leather is very dirty, a simple brushing off will do fine. Outside of that, maybe once or twice a year.
That lady sure can cut a rug !💃
By looks of the right sole, she does a lot of farm machinery driving / cattle rustling on motor bike.
how does one get a job working for you guys?
is the company JR still around ?
i think someone mentioned a year or 2 ago that they were bankrupt and closing down
They were purchased by another German tanning company called Kilger. The brand now reads JR by Kilger on the soles. They are tanning the leather soles using the exact process that JR has been using for decades.
