If Putin wants a buffer zone, he can use his own countries land for the buffer zone. It’s a big country. Russia can provide their own buffer zone. They don’t need to invade other countries and use their territory as a buffer zone.

The problem with a buffer zone is that the inhabitants feel like they are expendable. So they lobby for annexation, and then Puto needs a buffer zone for the buffer zone.

Given he is the only aggressor in this war, he actually doesn’t need a buffer zone at all as Russia is under no threat at all as Ukraine at no moment in time threatened Russia. He is a compulsive liar and manipulator that pays many agents to take expressions like „buffer zone“ to create propaganda. That’s just part of his divide the west to conquer it approach.

On a side note, these take weeks or months to repair, especially if they hit a critical part. Russia never did build with redundancy in mind, either in its transportation and energy network, or in most of its major facilities.

Russia can get its buffer zone by using 100 km from the border of Ukraine with Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod, Voronezh, and Rostov. Ukraine should not give an inch of its own territory.
It doesn’t need a buffer zone. It was never threatened by Ukraine.
Ukraine will move the buffer zone into Russia in time. This is just temporary.

Why are the reports of those who are unfit for military service in Ukraine being rechecked? Why are those trying to escape from the country at the Moldova-Poland border drowning in the river or why are there bodies frozen from the cold at the border? Why do soldiers forcibly recruit young men on the street? Why do some men hide at home to avoid military service and do not go out?

In some places, Ukraine actually tried to build defences close to the frontline, but the (civilian) machines to do this were shot at, causing human casualties. Greg Terry and Prof. Gerdes had images of that in their live stream tonight.

It's worse than that. Remember all those people in Rostov, who came out to cheer on, Wagner Group's march to Moscow? Remember the people who have fallen out of windows, or those who just disappeared (even some generals)? So, forget Ukraine. Russians are not even safe, in Russia! That's what puzzles me the most. They would at least need 350k troops just to basically occupy the civilians. And then there be the worst kind of resistance ever happened on earth, where casualities would exceed the war ratio.
