They never made it fan service because of Sony's censorship rule that has been in effect since I believe 2017? or 2016 I believe the reason why older senran kagura was allowed even inside the Sony policy as you say was a technicality. There's no reason why Neptunia couldn't have had armor break when their previous game had way more lewd clothing damage Neptunia 2 but that was way before the new policy. Don't forget Neptunia RPG was censored on Playstation and not on the other platforms
I feel sad because it's the first time a game features the HD modes more than the usual regular forms, specially since I like more purple heart way more than little Neptune so the brokem promise of this game been developed by the gods of fan service from tamsoft, and we are denied of the busty goddess goodies Is just soul breaking.. I was waiting for the steam version, but virtual stars gave me a bad taste, maybe I should just play again burst renewal instead and wait until its heavily discounted on a sale Also one of the things I loved from the Nep games was how lively those live2 animations were done, specially for a game that delivers the story on tex boxes was really engaging, but the quality of the animation and writing has been declining and virtual stars was as fun as looking at paint slowly drying on a wall
This game was fine but so much more could have came from Hyperdimension Neptunia X Senran Kagura Ninja Wars. 7.5/10 (and I am being generous because I love both series.)
Even you are complaining about the animation of a falling cat from a waterfall, I'm not the only one). I also saw the remaded Hachimajin from Blanc vs Zombies, I am also interested how balancing mini-game will be implemented on PC, I have a PS4 gamepad, but the calculation will also be for those who do not have them, most likely we will press the left and right buttons.
I have 3 chapters to go (about too upload chapter's 4 & 5 for this week). i am loving it so far, but the perfect blocks are hard to get right. the story could be better though. i am determined to Platinum this like with Neptunia Virtual Stars. With Difficulty, i find it fine, i have only used Nep and Asuka, and i only have gotten to Chapter 5, yet those 2 are level 20, the recommended are level 24. all i did was do a few Requests to level up, which is normally what you would do anyway. Much better than VVV/Virtual Stars, spent hours grinding to get more powerful... which in the end before the last few bosses, i was WAY OP, one hitting everything with Nep.
The controls were confusing and no clothes ripping. If the Neptune Unleashed for the ps vita had Senran Kagura characters it would have been a better crossover than this game.
i go buy this one once it comes to steam ,the last time i get Hyped for something was for SHIRFT EX4 because it was a collab .and you forget Nep also collab with Azur Lane
The devs need to ditch Sony and their puritan policies on anime games. I won’t support a company that bends the knee and self-censors their product to appeal to a crowd that doesn’t even buy the game.
as a senran kagura fan this game dissapoints me its literally a neptunia game with 4 senran kagura girls as a guest dont get me wrong, i like neptunia but has literally nothing of senran kagura aside of the 4 captain girls
Great review, so happy you got that collectors edition for free, you are definitely the person I think when looking for Senran Kagura or Neptunia content.
Considering there is a load of the Sakura VN games now on the PS5 and in their own category as "Adult" with full on perverted clothing and scenes... this game could have been way more risky. In Australia, VVV was MA15+ for the first time evert because of "Strong Sexual References" when in the US it only got a Teen rating... This crossover game got a M rating... the only major difference between the 2 is the Language they use with VVV being over the top in boob jokes, yet this one still has them during the Bath scenes. makes you wonder how it can be so different when MA15+ is normally used for boobs in full exposure, or games like Cod with their major violence.
The only reason I play the senran series is for fan service sadly there doesn’t seem to be any so I’ll pass and hope that they go back to there original style.
Game is quite fun tho not as much so as either of the series main line games but that was to be expected. For anyone wanting to know, throwing weapons are broken and can easily take down everyone minus one part of Yomi Training (since it's restricted) with the proper build. I was expecting at least transformation scenes but apparently not even that is good for Sony now, I feel like Sony is upping their policy since even in game they mention that they cannot have more fanservicy elements in one of the scenes with Neptune since they'd get in trouble. Really hope they just go flat PC moving forward if that's the case since they may be having issues, or maybe it might just be one of the budget restrictions for this game specifically. I guess we'll see what is allowed after we see the new Nep Sisters game come out next year. If it is like the next game post Megadimension then we can at least be happy about that. I just don't want this games fanserivce level to be the new norm. Also curious on if we'll get a new Senran Kagura title since I just finished Burst Renewal and Shinovi Versus and am working on Estival Versus, very fun.

Weird, I've seen other reviews and what they said was, "it played more like the Neptunia action games" as it wasn't as polished like SK Estival Versus feeling a bit like a downgrade if you come expecting a Senran Kagura approach to action. Maybe they say that because they say this was supposed to be a standalone Neptunia game but sometime they decided to make it a crossover, but IDK I still feel I'm not that interested in this game, becuase after Estival Versus I'm really waiting a real advance in the series and with Senrak Kagura 7 going the ways of Half-Life 3 o GTA VI, I think I'll just stick to the old games for now.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the devs are getting a bit too comfortable with keeping the Nep series a AA, mid-tier franchise that they can produce cheapy and sell at a mark-up to a loyal fanbase. I take the games for what they are, and the unique ones like Neptunia RPG are nice, but there's some laziness in these games that's just straight up inexcusable.
I agree with you, Biogulius Dio. I was a huge fan of the Neptunia series, but some of the releases lately have been incredibly disappointing and shallow. I was absolutely bored with Cyberdimension, Blanc + Neptune vs. Zombies, and Neptunia Shooter. I also hated a lot of the gameplay changes that VIIR made to VII, especially since VII is my favorite in the entire franchise. I own Neptune Vs. Sega Hard Girls, but I’m hesitant to even play it because it might just be a huge waste of my valuable time. On the positive side, I thoroughly enjoyed Super Neptunia RPG, but that game was made by a different set of developers. Plus, it seems like the Neptunia series is more interested in making spin-offs and remakes of older games at this point. I rolled my eyes so hard when I saw they remade Re;Birth 1. The only reason I’m even considering buying this crossover game is because I’m a huge fan of Senran Kagura, and I want Kenichiro Takaki to know that his series has an American fan base. Even then, I’m sure that the Neptunia producers found a way to suck the life out of such an otherwise potent crossover.
@@IllusionaryFuneral peoples said that the next coming up neptunia game is not a remake of the rebirth 2. The summary said that the new main antagonist is a goddess of mobile phone.

Mannnn I just wanted another SK game, but I’ll definitely buy it when it hits 20-30$ clearance I just worry this is gonna do poorly then we won’t get anymore SK games.
This game was a lot of fun but it doesn't have much replay value. I wish there was a New Game+ or more DLC like weapons or extra stages besides what's offered at the end.
Sony changes there mind every week these days. It is possible that they just told them no fanservice. I don't know how much you know about this but problem isn't that Sony doesn't want sexualized content any more. That wouldn't be a problem. Sony has wildly inconsistent standards on sexualized content. Meaning on one game you can get different standards coming from different people you are working with from Sony. The worst I had heard (though they don't say what game it was) the standards changed weekly and not just less to more conservative. It also would flip less conservative and confused the hell out of the dev team.
This game is pretty fun to play but I have to say They really should have added Lots of Unlockable costumes and accessories And it doesn't look like there's any DLC's coming either They only came out with one Then it seems like they abandoned the project if they come out with games Where you can't unlock costumes and accessories then they Have to at least put DLC's up A lot of games lately have been like that They do 1 or 2 or 3 DLCs And then they abandoned the games leaving them incomplete
Wow, no costumes...? No thank you. These games are pretty much a decent enough reason to play a fan service game, with no fan service i have no reason to buy. Such a disappointment for the future of the series.
By and by, this is hitting Steam in the spring. I'm getting there it mainly for one last SK blast, but if it still sucks there I'll write something scathing to Takagi. Screw Soyny and those that bow down to the SJWhiners. Also that amnesia comment is pretty cannon. The very first Neptunia game, Neptune had a severe case of amnesia to start out.
I know about the amnesia thing. I'm just saying that Neptune breaking the fourth wall in that way about the amnesia felt weird, as that normally only happens in her regular form, not in her HDD form. She usually doesn't talk that way as purple heart.
Honestly even without the famous service of senran, seeing them return gives me sooo much joy and just being able to play the senran kagura cast again in a new game.
Another Neptunia game with an English release but no dub? I'm probably the only person that really cares about that but I personally hoped Virtual Stars was a one off in that regard. Guess I'm skipping this one too...
I really enjoyed the game aside from the lack of fanservice, the awful lip movement and other flaws I had with it. And fun fact Goh the Crow originally came from Shinobido Way of the Ninja (Europe and Japan only) and is originally male.
I wished new releases in these franchises weren't (timed?) console exclusives all the time. I'd even be happy if they just went to EGS to release them for PC aswell. Best would be XBox or Nintendo Switch, since that's where the true audience waits, imho.

i thought youve forgotten bout this one, instead we get a beefy review, been waiting for this, thanks ysn
Fun fact in the beginning this was supposed to be a stand-alone neptunia game but senran kagura was just added at the last minute of development maybe it might be a Hunt to senran kagura 7?
Well that explains the lack of fan service
If this does well enough they will probably adding on the DLCs for new characters.
I personally enjoyed it. While I find the lack fan service disappointing I didn't see it as a deal breaker. Imo it's the best Senran Kagura spin off and one of the better Neptunia spin-offs.
Problem is they'll keep doubling down because of that mentality
Such a shame Marvy is out despite she's a ninja and a maker representing MarvelousAQL.
At least she's there as Asuka which is from Marvyland in the game.
This game was really disappointing. Pretty much zero fan service. Without it, you are just left with a not so great hack and slash game. Glad I rented it rather than buying it.
besides Yuuki's gigantic fun bags, the game is really below average, hopefully this means the sisters game coming up is gonna be really good
nice review, still gonna wait for a pc port if there is one. The most surprising thing about this game is that it has breast physics, but it's still tame in comparison to their respective series.
switch and steam port was just announced to be coming in spring
@@gokugtsupersaiyan thought it was just switch. Good to know.
I really like this game. Combat is fun and the game cuts a really good pace overall.
It's like Dinsty Warrior Games IE: Fire Emblem: Warriors and FE: TH.
News Alert for this game that they also release both Switch and PC next year Spring. Good news to tell, guys.
Thanks for the great review, i honestly feel the same way about the fanservice being too modest & for a story type reader that mouth animation loop yeah they couldve done better, i find this review most helpful for this game than other i have seen so far, just because you actually pinpoint stuff very well and not just compare it over & over again too a different genre game and complain, Please keep it up
They never made it fan service because of Sony's censorship rule that has been in effect since I believe 2017? or 2016 I believe the reason why older senran kagura was allowed even inside the Sony policy as you say was a technicality.
I was waiting for the steam version, but virtual stars gave me a bad taste, maybe I should just play again burst renewal instead and wait until its heavily discounted on a sale
Also one of the things I loved from the Nep games was how lively those live2 animations were done, specially for a game that delivers the story on tex boxes was really engaging, but the quality of the animation and writing has been declining and virtual stars was as fun as looking at paint slowly drying on a wall
Also the first game the CPU normal form is not playable.
Simp
Hoping other Senran Kagura games come to Switch like...Shinovi and Estival Versus.
and new ones, because Nintendo won´t demand censorship
Fr, and Burst Renewal, maybe Peach Beach Splash, and Bon Appetit as well
This game was fine but so much more could have came from Hyperdimension Neptunia X Senran Kagura Ninja Wars. 7.5/10 (and I am being generous because I love both series.)
Waiting for the PC port. The PlayStation ports are 4Kids versions of these games.
4kids...I never forget how they censor Yugioh
They're not going to magically add stuff that didn't exist. They just need to drop Sony
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 They may not, Loverslab may though.
I won’t be surprised if this game gets a lot of DLC characters from both game series hopefully they won’t be over price.
WHERE IS THE FAN SERVICE!?!?!?!
i go buy this one once it comes to steam ,the last time i get Hyped for something was for SHIRFT EX4 because it was a collab .and you forget Nep also collab with Azur Lane
The devs need to ditch Sony and their puritan policies on anime games. I won’t support a company that bends the knee and self-censors their product to appeal to a crowd that doesn’t even buy the game.
as a senran kagura fan
this game dissapoints me
its literally a neptunia game with 4 senran kagura girls as a guest
dont get me wrong, i like neptunia
but has literally nothing of senran kagura aside of the 4 captain girls
Great review, so happy you got that collectors edition for free, you are definitely the person I think when looking for Senran Kagura or Neptunia content.
This game looks absolutely amazing. Ready for the PC release.
Probably should have made the talking animation 2x speed or something to give that disconnected animation a somewhat more comedic tilt
I wish they had gone with a more "Warriors Orochi" style storyline.
It's right up my alley. But I'm shock there's not more fighters you can pick.
It's because game ratings are completely made up depending on who is looking at the game at the time.
sex or nudity not ok, growse violance is???? i hate those people/companys
No funservice, no money. As simple as that
Seems like I will be avoiding this one. Thank you for your review.
Good luck with Peach Beach Splash too.
@@wedasantika6079 that's right, it's so weird that isn't a spin off, thanks Weda! Tho I laughed when I saw the dlc for PBS totalling over 300 dollars, way to copy that DOA pricing model!
@@brendangoodell6233 I once thought PBS was spin off. But seems like the story picks up after Estival and everyone from Estival also returns.
@@wedasantika6079 Yea it's kind of weird, like how Persona 4 has a Fighting game and Dancing game but are legit canon to the plot lol.
@@brendangoodell6233 I also have similar feeling about Suikoden 4 and Suikoden Tactics. Despite Tactics not part in main game, the story continues where 4 left off and many 4 characters return in Tactics. And different battle system too: 4 is turn based, Tactics is strategy.
Thanks for the review but I'm not going to get a game that not only has some major flaws in gameplay, but also a toned down ecchi and fan service compared to predesessors of the genre. lol
Weird, I've seen other reviews and what they said was, "it played more like the Neptunia action games" as it wasn't as polished like SK Estival Versus feeling a bit like a downgrade if you come expecting a Senran Kagura approach to action. Maybe they say that because they say this was supposed to be a standalone Neptunia game but sometime they decided to make it a crossover, but IDK I still feel I'm not that interested in this game, becuase after Estival Versus I'm really waiting a real advance in the series and with Senrak Kagura 7 going the ways of Half-Life 3 o GTA VI, I think I'll just stick to the old games for now.
ive been trying to get my head in the door with this franchise neptunia i mean so i picked up 4 goddesses online and was thinking between this and v2r safe to say ill pick v2r up cause i play on pc and the sales are pretty nice but yeah thanks so much for the review helped me decide
There's even some misspellings in conversation although rare in mainline Nep games. Even Megadimension.
@@IllusionaryFuneral I didn't even get Reverse after I found out it was just a remake of Rebirth 1 (which, itself, is already a remake).
@@Bioguy5 Same, I skipped it. The only other Neptunia series game in the pipeline that I have any hope for is Dimension Tripper.
@@IllusionaryFuneral peoples said that the next coming up neptunia game is not a remake of the rebirth 2. The summary said that the new main antagonist is a goddess of mobile phone.
Wow I totally forgot I commented on this vid but while im glad it's on Steam, I dont see mytself getting it unless it gets an 80% holiday discount, cuz it's rather apparent that they didn't go above and beyond for a great crossover opportunity so both fandoms are disappointed, me included. gameplay looks dull, major lack of fan service and a poor limited edition set
no clothing dmg is very weird for these games.. neptunia was really fun as an rpg back in the days anyway & senran a lot of fun on 3ds and splash game
This game also gives me heavy TMNT 2: Battle Nexus vibes
When I played Senran Kagura games, some of the sounds from the menu are very similar to those in the trilogy of Ninja Turtles games.
Spring of 2022 this game is coming to steam and switch. Hopefully this can get mod support.
Great review, thanks! Definitely a pass due to the lack of fanservice.
Mannnn I just wanted another SK game, but I’ll definitely buy it when it hits 20-30$ clearance
I just worry this is gonna do poorly then we won’t get anymore SK games.
They're trying to find a good balance between "we want money" and "no fun allowed".
I'll take a down grade in graphics and an upgrade in fan service if you bring it to the Switch. Until then, my wallet will remain closed.
You should put a link to your second channel somewhere in the description imo
That Yuuki scene looks rough. It looks like something I could whip up in 5 to 10 minutes.
So they put Affimojas in the game as a boss, but can't make the rest of the main Nep crew (Candidates and Compa&IF) playable?
Really enjoyed this game. Bought the LE and platniumed it. One of my favorite nep spin-offs but probably my least favorite senran kagura games.
Judging from the footage of the combat in this video, part of the problem is that enemies don’t suffer knockback like they do in Senran Kagura.
Honestly even without the famous service of senran, seeing them return gives me sooo much joy and just being able to play the senran kagura cast again in a new game.
Thanks god this game is coming to Switch!!!!!
3:27 based developers
Wow, SK entrance scene while in "frantic mode", is it only in Burst Renewal? Never saw it in Shinovi & Estival Versus.
I would like to play this, so I hope it comes out for pc or vita rather soon.
Huh. A Neptunia game that isn't already on PC, that's odd.
Another Neptunia game with an English release but no dub? I'm probably the only person that really cares about that but I personally hoped Virtual Stars was a one off in that regard. Guess I'm skipping this one too...
Since the crossover characters have no EN dub like Virtual Star.
@@wedasantika6079 I understand the reason, but it still bothers me.
You're not alone. I miss the English dub 😓 I hope the next one has it..
@@peachiepao942 It's nice to hear I'm not alone in this after all.
Might grab it during a golden week sale.
23:40 Personally I kinda like the steel case art, but man there looks to be a ton of cut corners in this game ....
2024年春、四女神オンラインのswitch版発売を希望します
I really enjoyed the game aside from the lack of fanservice, the awful lip movement and other flaws I had with it. And fun fact Goh the Crow originally came from Shinobido Way of the Ninja (Europe and Japan only) and is originally male.
no Ryona makes me sad, I guess Vert will be my bestwaifu since Miyabi is obviously my best husbando.
Ah man, why play a Senran Kagura game without fanservice? Sad.
Rejoice! The game is coming to Switch with more contents which couldn't be made for the PS version
Not sure if I wanna try this or not. I’d like to own that steelbook though.
Go for it. 😊
The steelbook is awkwardly large. About an inch and a half larger than a regular ps4 case. It’s very nice looking tho
@@CalebMorea means is ps2 generation sized. DVD case height
I wished new releases in these franchises weren't (timed?) console exclusives all the time. I'd even be happy if they just went to EGS to release them for PC aswell. Best would be XBox or Nintendo Switch, since that's where the true audience waits, imho.
switch and steam port was just announced to be coming in spring
How can you have barely any fanservice in a Neptunia X Senran Kagura crossover game? You'd think their crossover would be LEGENDARY, but no...
Sony
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 Well, if only japanese developers werent biased towards their "japanese" company Sony, we'd have these games on PC with everything intended
@@avendurree a lot of them are switching to Nintendo... Because surprisingly, they're not censoring things. I just wish they would develope for the switch instead. We don't need super HD resolutions for these games
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 Switch and nintendo still too shit for companies like these, rather have them fully commiting to PC, heck, we'd have next senran kagura game already if that was the case.
About that mouth moving during VN section...how is it compared to Cyberdimension 4GO which no mouth moving at all?
Fan service dieing more and more in many games sad too see
The combat looks really cool, but my biggest issue is that the only SK characters in the game are the 4 clan leaders; which in my opinion are the least interesting SK characters..
great review , im sad about fanservice, that breaks it for me, i might get this when its on disccount
I was a huge fan back in the day...nowadays though it feels like they are on autopilot and doing less than the bare minimum then want to complain there's no demand...there's a demand. Not just for what we are getting..
Hey there YSN! I’m watching your videos trying to decide between ninja wars and burst renewal… my only background about these games are NepV2 and berseria (not that similar) I really loved the Nep humor, 4 wall and stuff like that. About beat’em up I know just DMC. About rpg just final fantasy 5 til ff10.
Can you help me decide? It would be for ps5 btw
I know this is a month ago but get Burst Renewal
Hype? Didn't know there was any hype at all for this game. Barely anyone talks about it. After the disappointing Super Neptunia RPG and the Idol action game, I had hope for this but it's just kind of a rushed out Dynasty Warriors clone like the other Senran games. They really need to take a break from this franchise and rethink it.
This game is ok. I just wish what others wish. Everyone wants more fanservice even the girl players.
I remember Neptunia now seeing this vid. Is Neptunia like done with main entries or something?
No Ikaruga no buy seriously missed opportunity to pair Ikaruga and Noire
After all they have the same voice
It ist so sad that there is no fan Service in this game. But i bought it and want to play it because i love the Franchise so much
It sounds hollow. But not super terrible. I'll pick it up if its on sale. But yeah more characters would have been a great addition of re-play value. Oh well.
14:40 Oh dear....I'm getting some JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Eyes of Heaven flashbacks. I.e. the lips don't match what the characters are saying.
it's kinda silly when a franchise well known for fan service starts listening to players who hate fan service. it's like they're focusing on the wrong demographic and ends up pleasing nobody.
