For anyone who didn’t know the mechanics of the auto cannon, it only takes a mission or 2 to train yourself to not fire the full 10 round mag all the time. Fire it 5 times then reload. You do not discard unused ammo and you will stay fully topped off. Reload is only 1.3 seconds this way as opposed to nearly 4 seconds if you expend the full mag. Hold reload to see exactly how many rounds left in the mag, so if you have 8 left, fire 3 then reload for a quick mag top.
Emancipator worked really well for me. Like you said, you can basically ignore the votless, the harvesters go down in a short burst of sustained fire, two to three shots max for overseers and watchers, and a short burst to kill the landed warp ships. I think this is the best faction currently to use exosuits against.
Agreed. It's nice to finally have it be useful somewhere. Emancipator = excellent on bugs, patriot = excellent on illuminate. Now we just need one that works on bots with all the rockets flying at you 😂
I have tried a couple loadouts against squids and I keep coming back to the laser cannon. Being able to beam everything as long as you can hit the right spots feels so good
yeah it's certainly very niche but it's at least viable as a weapon now. fantastic against overseers when flak is loaded and the new armor helps with the reload.
It’s much better vs terminids, and ironically not shreikers, it’s actually not very good at dealing with them. Try bringing the airburst - set it to cluster and fire at bug breaches at high level, 60% if the time will kill a charger with a well placed shot - 95% 1 shot on impaler, shoot under it. It can wipe entire breaches and nests with 1 shot, by the time you reload the next wave just spawns ready to die again. Obviously has issues with Bile titans, so either bring stratagems or make some friends that like the RR.
Today with the stalwart personal order i fell in love with it + the new sniper combination. Stalwart mows mobs + shields while the sniper takes the important shots. Running toward a ship while shooting it to drop its shield and throw a granade in without stopping made me feel like what John Helldiver must feel on an off day.
And you can reload it on the move, which is huge. With the other MG's, you fire until empty and if you're still overwhelmed, you basically have no support weapon.
Arc thrower is S tier lmao. Infinite ammo, stun effect is OP, crowd control, etc. Even though It can't kill the harvesters quickly you can basically just keep them still with it while somebody with more AP one shots it or you can just use a rail cannon strike if you're by yourself and in a pinch. Pair it with an AR for the shields and overseers. You can kinda bring whatever you want after that in terms of secondary and grenades, I think it's mostly preference.
If I've learned anything about this playerbase its that if it has infinite ammo players will swear to god its the best weapon in the game even when it isn't (aka OG Scythe and OG Laser Cannon) The reality is that it's just okay. The main issue is that it doesn't do anything better than any other weapon, its just an okay pick.
@@Imagine_Tryingthank you for saying the truth the ttk is trash it actually was goated back when the rate of fire increased as you shot it more I loved it back then but now it’s kinda mid
To me the Autocannon is S tier no doubt. The flak mode takes out groups of overseers and any stray voteless with them and easily dispatches Elevateds and Watchers from afar as you dont have to aim carefully with flak mode to hit them. Also takes down Harvesters nicely, maybe not as well as the AMR but it already does way more than the rifle. Its also great at destroying ships and getting rid of Arc towers.
AC is on the edge for me, easily could be A-Tier and S for those who really like it. I do think it's funny we got airburst lovers and AC lovers but no one is defending the SPEAR lol
@@IronNomadGaming I use the spear every mission and I haven't found a better weapon to take down the drop ships. Though if there is please tell me because its a bit inconsistent at times.
MG43 is goated for squids. The primary issue it has is generally armor pen and ammo, but Squids are all-around the squishiest of the 3 factions and urban areas have ammo littered everywhere. I take MG43 with Crossbow, Gas Grenades and still trying to figure out the secondary, Senator works well, especially for taking out the Narc Rumbas.
Lol. The airburst is my favorite stratagem for the illuminate. Granted only if you switch to cluster bombs for its alt fire. It kills voteless, and overseers, also a weakened harvester
What I really really like about the recoiled against the illuminates is it’s effectiveness against the ships. When your playing with friends like I do it’s really nice to just assign someone on ship destroying duty. If you hit a ship in the middle of the beaming area (so the belly of the ship), it instantly kills it, and if you get a reload off you can kill a second ship in time for it to drop on some of the enemies it spawned. This really helps with just decreasing the amount of enemies you have to face at once
My thoughts, for whatever they are worth: I think the RR should be low B with the quasar and EATs. Very low potential to deal with any other threats other than harvesters, takes a backpack slot and slow rate of fire. As it stands now, dedicated anti tank isn’t worth it, although this may change with new units. AC should be moved up to low A as that can deal with all current, just needs reloading a bit more than other options there. Grenade launcher and flame thrower should be moved down to B. Great for horde clear, but mediocre on everything else. Commando is odd choice for S, really think it should be with the other launchers in B, although I can appreciate the 4 rapid fire shots. Maybe as a supplementary support to another support weapon, but then you’re taking up a slot from a sentry/airstrike/orbital. Hmm tough one that. Gas thrower needs to go lower. Gas grenades and gas strike do the job far better. Air burst moves up one as its at least good for horde clear, albeit incredibly risky. AMR down to high A, great at overseers and harvesters. Mediocre at horde clear. MG and HMG to S, no question. Laser cannon to high A, low S. It’s my absolute favourite weapon in the game, but it’s just slightly outclassed by MG and HMG here.
Your analyse of the different weapon are great, but I think you should give a try to the commando. Unlike other faction, is low damage is not an issue here, since it can OS harvester legs, and it can also clear shield and tesla tower easily. So you get more gaz/ incendiary grenade for hord clear, or you can bring stun grenade. And you just need to pair it with a good principale weapon for hord clear/ destroyed shield.
I enjoy reading your thoughts and you have some valid points. It did cross my mind to place all the launchers lower since their target potential is limited atm.
Best thing about the commando is that you can use an other supportweapon with it an call down the commando when needed. There are loads of machineguns and grenadelaunchers lying around.
I love the arc thrower. It has been my favorite weapon ever since I first got my hands on it. One thing that it has above the flamethrower and the other weapons in A tier is its ability to stun lock all illuminates. It makes the overseers and voteless a non-issue. However, it does struggle a little bit against the harvesters. I believe that it does stun lock the harvesters too.
In my opinion the Arc Thrower needs to be up in S tier. If you're doing this game as a game where you're going out by yourself sure A tier but it's ability to kill all the small enemies and its ability to not only strip the shields of harvesters but stun them in place allowing a teammate to take that shot that takes out the leg that makes it S tier.
With the AMR, if you're not head-shotting overseers consistently it's not your pick. I wouldn't put it in S myself simply because of that and you also won't be using it on Voteless. Overseers eat body shots like crazy. Arc is S tier for me. It's useful on every enemy, easy to use, infinite ammo, range is good enough and surprisingly far.
Yeah but you can rapid fire the AMR pretty easily and 3 body shots will take them out, meanwhile they will eat an entire RR rocket to the chest. Sure headshot is one shot, but being able to rapid the body for 3 shots and dropping them is pretty insane. Also there are more primaries that can wipe out your voteless than primaries that can take on harvesters and overseers. You don't have to think it's the best, but don't downplay my baby.
honestly the airburst isn't that bad against the squids rn, since its mostly voteless, if you know how to aim you can get like 15-20 kills per rocket, and even more if they're grouped up
I loved the WASP when it was available, reminds me of the old spear when you needed to predict where your projectile will go to aim for weakpoints. It can absolutely shred harvesters if you are positioned where you’ll hit the leg joint.
Wasp is great if you want to be a headhunter for your team: its really efficient at singling out and shredding medium targets like Overseers, hive guards, etc. Allows your teammates to preserve ammo. Can also close bug holes pretty decently with it, but it's less reliable than the grenade launcher, for that
I know airburst is hated, but damn I've been loving that thing lately, especially vs squids. Just love clearing a whole patrol with one shot, and seeing the overseers go flying.
@@IronNomadGaming It's definitely a niche weapon, and not easy to use with a lot of risk. No ability to take out heavy armour. But it's fun as shit once you learn how to use it lol
Genuinely hated the laser cannon and never willingly used it until i tried it against the squids. Melts them down good. Though, you gotta have good aim with it.
My favourite super helldive Illuminate build would be. Blitzer, grenade pistol, incendiary impact grenade, orbital precision strike, orbital laser, 500kg eagle and the WASP launcher. But I love to use this when I'm in a team. Like seriously this build doesn't fail me. People should try it if anyone is reading this
I love that the 3 different factions have a definitive weakness each. Bots is precision weapons, bugs are flames and explosives. Squids are just «use a gun, and if that dont work. Use more gun»
@@IronNomadGaming Yes, illuminate are not very hard right now and many things work. However, explosive weapons like AC flak and airburst simple take out all groups at once. And illuminates always appear in large groups.
- Don't use the quasar cannon to destroy the shield - I'm not an arc thrower guy but I have to admit, it's the best support weapon for illuminates. I consistently get over 1000 kills every game when I use it. - Spear can take down the dropships from any angle while an assisted reload recoilless can destroy entire drops if you don't have any SAM sites up. However, it is bad at attacking moving harvesters as it has so many parts that can block the rocket that have different healths. I'd say just focus on bringing down dropships or shoot harvesters only if they're looking at you directly. Don't forget that recoilless has an alternative fire mode too. - The railgun packs a huge punch but the lack of range on the scope is a downside when hitting harvester legs. However, if you have the skills, railgun is the fastest harvester killer. Can kill it in less than 3 seconds - I've seen players who are good with the airburst and are really good at clearing hordes. I think they don't aim at them directly but it is a viable weapon for the illuminates, 100%. I think the best selling point is when we are getting overwhelmed during extraction with 7 flying overseers and our airburster took all of them down in 1 hit. - The stalwart has more ammo and is the only non-stationary machine gun. The fact that you can reload while on the move is extremely important when you have lots of voteless chasing and overseers shooting at you. I would say it's on the same level as the other two. Just leave the harvester to someone else but you have the gun that can destroy their shield the fastest so they would love you if you stick with them - While laser cannon is my favorite weapon to bring on the illuminates, it's terrible at bringing shields down. Always pair it with something that shoots a lot of lead like a rifle - When using the flamethrower, don't get super close. They'll go to you anyway. It's weakness are flying overseers as they acknowledge your attack range and fly away once you start setting them on fire. You also don't have enough speed to destroy watchers before they launch the flares. Pair it up with a good primary, secondary, or grenades. The gas and stun are incredible grenades to bring along with it. When killing harvesters, they will shoot lightning bolts at you so instead of bringing a fire-resistant armor, bring an arc resistant armor instead. It takes 1 full canister to bring 1 harvester so if you have an ally to bring it down, don't bother as it's better to focus on the medium and light enemies with that 1 canister - The quick cooldown of the EAT makes it ideal for bringing down enemy tesla towers while giving you a quick ability to deal with the dropships and harvesters
The airburst launcher is no longer a TK weapon. Since the day they fixed its proxomity trigger, it is a safe weapon. A lot safer than anyone bringing a gatling turret for sure. It has become my favorite weapon on all fronts 🙂 . As for almost all weapons, it just needs a little bit training.
@@IronNomadGaming To be honest, your tier list is probably the best one I've seen for the Illuminate. The only thing I'd change would be to have it go flamethrower > arc thrower > grenade launcher, but that's just personal preference.
I think you might change your mind about the AC once you take a quick peak at some of my solo stimless kill all level 10 videos. Also, I use the CE-74 Breaker armour to reduce the recoil from the AC by 30% when crouching.
When i saw laser canon in C tier, i almost left the video. Glad i waited. Good video, with great explanations as to why you put items where you put them. Well done.
I've been an arc thrower main ever since I unlocked it in the early days of the game, back when it could still open containers. It's great against small squads, you just need to know where to stand and teach your team not to stand in your firing range 😂
Idk about the Quaser... its my goto purely for it's unlimited ammo and no back pack. The recharge time isn'tall bad because it forces you to change back to your primary to deal with fodder and by the time you've thinned the crowd you've got your next shot available it'sseriouslythe jack of all trades
Recoiless rife is very good on defense missions, but only if you have another helldiver that is willing to be your reloader, also youll be kinda hogging the supply drop for the quick backpack reloading. It's a very strong senergy, that definitely requires teamwork, that be the dreamwork.
Excellent video with huge effort put in it, you deserve more recognition mate! From blue stratagem category I like to use either HMG paired with supply pack or recoilless rifle against the Iluminate.
Use AMR to take out harvesters top and bottom horns to knockout their shielding and arc at a distance, then you only have to worry about its main weapon. This allows you to hammer its joints and any teammates with heavier weapons can take out harvesters without worrying about shields. Also great for popping overseer heads.
Counter point. The expendable at has a really low cool down as well. You can almost just spam and litter. Always have a really decent rocket. And no reload. Just grab shoot grab shoot.
@@IronNomadGaming fair enough. I haven't really used the commando. If i want to use another stratagem weapon I usually opt for the expendable at because of the discard ability like for bug missions where I really only need launchers for bile titans or I just use the recoilless if the mission calls for a dedicated launcher like bot missions so the commando has never had a good cost benefit to me. Really good video I learned a lot about how to counter squids from it
Commando is a plain superior EAT vs current illuminate. The commando being able to 1-shot everything means one commando = 4 EAT's that you can carry around at once while on the move.
@@Saucychemist I think I said it above but the biggest draw for me to the eat over other rocket launchers is the short time and lack of carrying required. Makes it super easy to carry an alternative weapon and call it in as needed. It's a case by case and I think just does to play style more than anything. Carry a stalwart or an mg on a midlevel bug mission and I might need a rocket every now ang again but more than anything I need crowd control. The low time means I can also litter the map with them. mg crowd control run grab rocket shoot and scoot. Works on bots to a degree as well. However I haven't really played around with the commando so I I'll have to give it a shot.
Railgun is high a-tier. I’d put it s-tier for squids if the learning curve wasn’t so high. It obviously is the best weapon for harvesters (1-2 shots) and w/ overseers if u pair it w/ a blitzer or pummeler it gives u a unique 1-2 combo where u can stun lock upto 3, then follow up w/ the RG to finish them
glad to see u put some respect on the RG tho. nobody seems to understand how to use it. AMR I don’t see how it’s an s-tier tho. massive recoil, requires 4 shots in the same joint to drop a harvester, and has small mags. if u pair it w/ a support backpack, sure, but by itself idk
@@IronNomadGaming ya it’s an absolute monster on all fronts in the right hands. for the squids tho, it seems like ppls methodology changed in how they are making builds. like, imo, u don’t need a support weapon for chaf (voteless/watchers) the same way u dont on any other front. primary/secondary/grenade slot for them and u bring support weapon for “big boys” and secondary objectives.
Can easily mow down an overseer with an mg43 or hmg in the time in takes to do that combo without all that weapon switching sry but the MGs are true S tier on squid railgun is not meta against medium enemy’s like it is with bots here I realized that fast
Airburst is really good against squids. It will kill everything except the harvesters. But it will instantly destroy the shields and make them vulnerable for everything else.
@@IronNomadGaming If I am in an open field and the patrol is outside of the range of the cluster bomb mode, I switch to flak instead, aim a little bit higher and fire it at the direction of the flying overseers. But if they are closer, I just use cluster bombs. A lot safer. I used to hate the airburst and thought it was the most useless stratagem ever. But ever since I gave it a go against squids, it is my favorite so far. Sure, it may not be the most effective, but it sure as hell is the most fun I've had so far against the new faction. I think the combination of urban biomes, ranged units and the new vehicle make it so that Helldivers don't keep fighting right at the enemy faces and friendly fire is less common compared to bug front, example. One other thing. Airburst can one shot cognitive disruptors.
Autocannon not being in the same tier as AMR doesnt make sense to me, they perform similarly but the autocannon can destroy warp ships and has some anti swarm capability as well.
commando aoso is great every minute you can spawn one in and just litter the map woth em when it gets crazy the whole team can just find the closest commando lol
I need to try the AMR with a jumpack and stay on the rooftops. I've been loving the lascannon with the strafing run. I basically use the lascannon as my primary and use the strafing run to clear the streets or take off harvester shields. It can down a harvester from across the map without over heating.
Wasp is great as a designated Illuminate deleter. We tried a 3 man squad running MG43 , RR, and Wasp. Wasp prevented any drops getting called or Overseer issues. MG43 for Voteless and shields, RR to one shot Harvesters.
Deffinitly not controversial Squids are way too ez they need to hurry up and release all of them. Anything that requires an Armour perk or Supply Pack (Nade Launcher) to only just be viable is not good so push that way down to D Tier I'm looking at you HMG glazers. Purifier is God Tier thats my "Support" for Overseers 2 shots and Voteless 1 shots plus stagger plus AOE to kill multiple and Commander for Tripods I'm glad you made that S Tier, Straf for any shields, 120 to lock down UFO drops and clear camps and Jump Pack because once I started using it on Bots a few weeks ago I just can't stop. RR is S Tier on Gate Defence missions to the point its a cheesed snoose fest Metal Pigeon shooting 19:41 That was all the Arc Thrower Meri Kirihimete!
Saying that the Airburst RL is ONLY good for shrikers has never shot a hulk between the legs.. I. my group of friends we call it the Big Stupid. But it is decent against bots but deleting an entire patrol of Illuminate in one shot is also smvery satisfying.
@@IronNomadGaming Well... in my experience, there is no other support weapon which can kill an entire patrol with just one shot. From 300m. Plus have 30 kills (only illuminate).
The airburst is pkay on defense missions just because it completely clears the dropship beams instantly. Not saying its amazing, but it has a justifiable usecase
12:46 i like the airburst and in the narrow streets where voteless and overseers bunch up the airbust can wipe almost all of them in one shot (also good against bugs it can one shott shrieker nests and spore spewers but this is an uliminate tirelist) the argument of it can kill you is null and void as 90% of strategems will do that if not used properly and the cluster bomb can in its new alt fire cluster bomb wont use proximity fusing but will detonate after a certain distance aswell as on impact i think it deserves high C low B way better then the damn wasp
well i still pare the arc thrower with the purifier, i can kill overseers with 2 charged shot, horde whipe voteless and stunlock an harvester, having 2 players with the arc thrower, and it melts the harvester, while it hurts the shield gen on its chin or his horns, but still i still pare it with the tesla tower since it can kill harvesters and stunlocks them if their shield is down/out but overseers can be smart and stay out of range, but i use the 'eagle straighing-run' to depelt the ufo ships, and whats my 4th slot??? ammo pack cus i can bearly find frags for my impacts and 1 shot the ufo ships but thats my load out loadout; purifier verdict (deagle) impact frags strats; arc thrower ammo pack tesla tower eagle straith run
@@IronNomadGaming it shoots every 0.05-2 secs since it got its buff, its a great crowd control turret, still kinda effective on bugs but sometimes chargers can get stunned by it but the trick is, tose it near them or on them, but just keep in mind, they will laser it if you place it just randomly/incorrectly, when i played it with my friend, he tosed his tesla tower and it won a 1v1 against harvesters and he got the jump on it, but he did rock the flame turret for voteless, but still play smart and play it like cod but also run and gun like l4d and halo
Heavy machine gun is S only. Switch to high fire rate, bring "gunny" Armor, it kills the tripods fastest. And anything else. Squids survive first shot they take, when you have to hit twice with the AMR, HMG burst is faster, less reloads. Its a matter of skill for sure.
Finally someone in this comment section said it, you’ll never see a PS5 user use the HMG on sticks but you can absolutely murder overseers and harvesters if you have an ounce of skill with a mouse it’s definitely S tier
Im a Airburst rocket launcher main. I can move the mountains for you using my Airburst. If you ao desire that. I use it against all the factions. It can also one shoot a charger or impaler.
@@dalej4241 Well, statistically, you got team-killed by a gatling turret. The airburst is quite safe, actually. If I am using it, I have about as many teamkills as with the crossbow.
My only beef with the commando is once its spent you can't reload it. HMG and MG you can keep stocked almost without effort thanks to the good citizens stock piles thought the city map.
I have a question as a potential new player. Is this game like super competitve and i have to sweat all the time? Or is it quite chill? Or maybe it depends on a planet im dropping?
There are a lot of difficulties you can choose from. I think on the highest difficulties (think highest 2 or 3) there might be some of that, but in general just don't be rude and listen to your teammates.
Honedtly ive been playing super helldive the past couple days very comfortably, but thats with all strategems unlocked anf having fairly decent team mates. For the most part you can chillout and be fine.
It's a fun goofy time. If anyone is sweaty about this game, then you should probably not listen to them. Almost every playstyle is viable, just embrace the coop nature with your squad and enjoy!
AutoCannon is absolutely D or maybe C tier agains them. I tried almost all weapons and this thing feels absolutely awful against illuminate. Overseers take 2-3 shots of it to die, if you are trying to get through shields with it, you cannot kill the thing after you take down the shield and then you have to wait the yearlong reload.... Even against drones, it feels horrible because of how much your aim can sway. If it was just the medium mobs, it could work but throwing in there the zombies, that are ALWAYS munching on you while trying to reload, no this thing feels horrible to use.
Re "Airburst". I can accept that you "do not like it". I do not like the AMR (for the simple reason that I do not like sniper weapons). But regarding its performance: have you retried the airburst after the buffdivers patches? I did intensively and I can safely say: it does chaff clearing _so much better_ than a laser cannon, an HMG, a railgun, and (obviously) all AT weapons listed in your A and B tiers. Especially against illuminates, an airburst strike easily gets 10 to 30 kills per rocket. That's hard to beat! And it also one-shots warp ship doors -- from far away and safe, and it even has more shots than the recoiless. In my experience, the airbust is just useless against factory striders, bile titans, and harvesters. I also think it is a lot better against groups of ground units compared to groups of flying ones.
@@IronNomadGaming Thanks for considering the feedback! After my comment I read that you really want to love it. Best luck for your relation to the airburst 🙂
Quasar is a precision weapon. You cant change my mind. If you cant aim, the Quasar is easy B tier. If you can aim and position smartly. Quasar is an EASY S+ tier for Heavy hunter killer stuff. Its unlimited. You have to have rhythm and aim and good positioning. I use it on literally everything and One shot every heavy target that isnt a tank, Factory, or those oopy goopy ahh tentacle monsters. Its ALWAYS Quasar. Frees up slot for backpack, so you can take whatever flavor of guard dog you want, supply pack etc. point is. You get an unlimited recoiless rifle and whatever backpack you want. Quasar only leaves my loadout on defense missions because.... Railgun, napalm and gas strike says nuh uh to defense missions. Not to be john/Jane Helldiver but.... If you think the quasar sucks, its because you suck, practice your aim and rhythm. Quasar is like second nature for me. Take down shields with 99% of a dagger mag, swap quasar and deploy guard dog. Fire on weakspot, swap to sickle or blitzer, clear trash and move on. Rail gun if you panic on rhythm tho or if you miss a shot. I dont get why people dont like it ngl but id love to hear what people think as long as it isnt "CoOlDoWn TiMe ToO LoNg! BaBy WaNt InStaNt GrAtIfIcAtIoN!!!" As long as that isnt your argument id love to hear everyone elses opinions on why quasar isnt S+
I'd like someone, anyone, defend the spear! But for my list, I mostly gravitate towards the jack of all conventional weapons. Nothing wrong with loving the quasar.
Nah airburst is the only one that needs changing, it’s better than the cluster bomb cuz you can very accurately control where it hits at a moments notice especially after giving it smart targeting. Yes it team kills every now and then but that is all due to skill of the player. I think it could be as good as S tier in the right hands
Bro, like four harvesters totally derping on uber easy shots on you with their eye beam in the first few minutes of your video. What the heck?! They only deployed their D tier harvesters against you apparently.
HMG and mg not being in S tier is not true at all illuminate were clearly made with those support strata’s in mind being strong especially because of sheilds
Oh it can.. just not as consistent as the other weapons. Regardless it kills everything else and takes out parked ships on top of not requiring a backpack slot.
@IronNomadGaming its literally been tested by me and actual HD2 youtube channels. I've tested it on lv3 as well. Grenade launcher will never take down harvester on its legs and it can't really disable the shield and arc sensors.
B tier is good! AMR does the same job basically but is easier to use, better range, reload on the run and doesn't have a backpack. BUT yes.. AC is really good, no denying that.
easiest faction to fight ??? what do you mean lol i can barely solo complete 1/5 missions for Illuminates at difficulty 5 while it's a breeze against any other faction xD
It's just not... what it used to be. It's one of those guns that's either God tier or just middle of the road. IF it had zoom I'd put this straight into s tier.
@IronNomadGaming honestly thats a skill issue, I am hitting shit at basically render distance and it two shots harvesters in safe mode. I take the purifier for everything else since its aoe horde clears anything insanely good and 2 shots the elites which i could one shot with good enough aim on railgun aswell in safe mode on hs. It's S tier imo on any faction i mean we are even back to one shots in safe mode vs hulk eye shots. I grant u tho that if it had zoom ontop it would be even sicker

I was in a super helldive defense extraction mission, carried the whole match with 390 kills. Best launcher in the game
I love the stalwart with the jump pack, since we can now hip fire/aim midair. It just feels epic.
Listen, you're not wrong.
If I've learned anything about this playerbase its that if it has infinite ammo players will swear to god its the best weapon in the game even when it isn't (aka OG Scythe and OG Laser Cannon)
The reality is that it's just okay. The main issue is that it doesn't do anything better than any other weapon, its just an okay pick.
It can also shoot like 50 meters. You don’t have to be so close to harvesters that you get zapped by their arc
No ttk is trash sorry
@@Imagine_Tryingthank you for saying the truth the ttk is trash it actually was goated back when the rate of fire increased as you shot it more I loved it back then but now it’s kinda mid
The old trick is if you fire an airburst when prone it disables the proximity and it explodes only on impact
@@IronNomadGaming Cause the spear sucks shit m8
@@IronNomadGaming I use the spear every mission and I haven't found a better weapon to take down the drop ships. Though if there is please tell me because its a bit inconsistent at times.
@@senorcat7853recoilless rifle is decent for taking down dropships, only when you have a teammate loading for you though
Everything you just listed handles the entire faction with EASE, basically any pick after that is icing on the cake.
Overseers are one of the tankiest medium enemies in the game lol wdym that’s their design
8:47 glad the laser cannon got love. It’s slept on right now.
Right? I barely see it being used.
Lol. The airburst is my favorite stratagem for the illuminate. Granted only if you switch to cluster bombs for its alt fire. It kills voteless, and overseers, also a weakened harvester
I salute you brave Helldiver.
I always forget the buddy system with this and the ac...
I never realized how effective the laser cannon was until I aim at the illuminates heads almost instantly kills them
I was surprised at how effective it was.
My thoughts, for whatever they are worth:
I think the RR should be low B with the quasar and EATs.
I respect and enjoy the arc thrower but I'm a starcraft lover and want some bullets to shoot.
The WASP is pretty epic against Illuninate, as it can quickly and easily smoke those uber annoying overseers and elevated overseers. Love it.
It's probably the fastest way of dealing with overseers
You don't have to think it's the best, but don't downplay my baby.
honestly the airburst isn't that bad against the squids rn, since its mostly voteless, if you know how to aim you can get like 15-20 kills per rocket, and even more if they're grouped up
Liked for Clay Davis 😂
shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii--T!
@IronNomadGaming 😂😂
Subbed
lol I appreciate it.
I loved the WASP when it was available, reminds me of the old spear when you needed to predict where your projectile will go to aim for weakpoints. It can absolutely shred harvesters if you are positioned where you’ll hit the leg joint.
See this is why I need more time with it, I couldn't find the groove but I knew it had something special.
Wasp is great if you want to be a headhunter for your team: its really efficient at singling out and shredding medium targets like Overseers, hive guards, etc. Allows your teammates to preserve ammo. Can also close bug holes pretty decently with it, but it's less reliable than the grenade launcher, for that
I took it out against the bugs today and had a crazy good time.
I love how the Autocannon is goated on every front
Watched some solo divers with it, damn I have to admit it should be A tier.
I know airburst is hated, but damn I've been loving that thing lately, especially vs squids. Just love clearing a whole patrol with one shot, and seeing the overseers go flying.
I think I've been re-educated on it, it's not trash tier. Solid B.
@@IronNomadGaming It's definitely a niche weapon, and not easy to use with a lot of risk. No ability to take out heavy armour. But it's fun as shit once you learn how to use it lol
Every time I see one a team kill happens without fail
I am a proud sniper+jetpack addict, railgun for the bugs tho.
Truth. Railgun is also my goto for bugs.
People should try it if anyone is reading this
This is a great list! I gotta watch you precious list! SUBSCRIBED! 20:32
Lol thank you
I love that the 3 different factions have a definitive weakness each. Bots is precision weapons, bugs are flames and explosives. Squids are just «use a gun, and if that dont work. Use more gun»
I've barely used the explosive weapons on the squids since the conventional guns get the job done.
@@IronNomadGaming Yes, illuminate are not very hard right now and many things work. However, explosive weapons like AC flak and airburst simple take out all groups at once. And illuminates always appear in large groups.
- Don't use the quasar cannon to destroy the shield
- I'm not an arc thrower guy but I have to admit, it's the best support weapon for illuminates.
Can kill it in less than 3 seconds
- I've seen players who are good with the airburst and are really good at clearing hordes.
Just leave the harvester to someone else but you have the gun that can destroy their shield the fastest so they would love you if you stick with them
- While laser cannon is my favorite weapon to bring on the illuminates, it's terrible at bringing shields down. Always pair it with something that shoots a lot of lead like a rifle
- When using the flamethrower, don't get super close. It takes 1 full canister to bring 1 harvester so if you have an ally to bring it down, don't bother as it's better to focus on the medium and light enemies with that 1 canister
- The quick cooldown of the EAT makes it ideal for bringing down enemy tesla towers while giving you a quick ability to deal with the dropships and harvesters
Shout out to all the Airburst Rocketlauncer fans out there! ❤
We're Helldivers! We can take a little teamkilling!
Lol love it
The airburst launcher is no longer a TK weapon. Since the day they fixed its proxomity trigger, it is a safe weapon. A lot safer than anyone bringing a gatling turret for sure. It has become my favorite weapon on all fronts 🙂 . As for almost all weapons, it just needs a little bit training.
Ive been using the stalwart for every faction its so good being able to reload while running, with the ar guard dog you're untouchable
Guard dogs are so good... It's weird how this game shifts from playstyle to playstyle. Speaks to a really good sandbox.
When I saw the laser cannon being put into C at first, I was about to start screaming XD
Lol yeah I thought I'd be funny
@@IronNomadGaming To be honest, your tier list is probably the best one I've seen for the Illuminate. The only thing I'd change would be to have it go flamethrower > arc thrower > grenade launcher, but that's just personal preference.
I think you might change your mind about the AC once you take a quick peak at some of my solo stimless kill all level 10 videos.
Also, I use the CE-74 Breaker armour to reduce the recoil from the AC by 30% when crouching.
I'm going to check it out later tonight.
Alright... you've convinced me. Why won't you let me comment!
When i saw laser canon in C tier, i almost left the video. Glad i waited. Good video, with great explanations as to why you put items where you put them. Well done.
lol thank, had to troll a little bit on that one. No denying how good the LC.
I've been an arc thrower main ever since I unlocked it in the early days of the game, back when it could still open containers.
It's great against small squads, you just need to know where to stand and teach your team not to stand in your firing range 😂
Teaching them is the fun part lol
Idk about the Quaser... its my goto purely for it's unlimited ammo and no back pack. The recharge time isn'tall bad because it forces you to change back to your primary to deal with fodder and by the time you've thinned the crowd you've got your next shot available it'sseriouslythe jack of all trades
This one easily could be A or S tier if you enjoy that style. I dunno why I don't. I think the conventional weapons are just my jam lately.
Recoiless rife is very good on defense missions, but only if you have another helldiver that is willing to be your reloader, also youll be kinda hogging the supply drop for the quick backpack reloading. It's a very strong senergy, that definitely requires teamwork, that be the dreamwork.
I forgot to mention the power of friendship with the backpack ones.. but alas it requires friends...
Excellent video with huge effort put in it, you deserve more recognition mate! From blue stratagem category I like to use either HMG paired with supply pack or recoilless rifle against the Iluminate.
Thank you brother! We hit a spike since the update which is crazy to see.
Yeah that's why I kept it in b tier, I was just comparing it directly to the commando.
Oh I love the railgun, it's my go to vs the bugs and bots.
I think an issue I didn't bring up is just how many people don't use the airburst correctly and wipe the entire squad.
@@IronNomadGamingSkill issue. And if you shoot your squad in the head with the amr you whipe aswell.
Autocannon not being in the same tier as AMR doesnt make sense to me, they perform similarly but the autocannon can destroy warp ships and has some anti swarm capability as well.
I think the ac is the one weapon I'd move up. But no one is standing up for the spear lol
commando aoso is great every minute you can spawn one in and just litter the map woth em when it gets crazy the whole team can just find the closest commando lol
Congrats on 2k!
Thanks babe
I need to try the AMR with a jumpack and stay on the rooftops.
I've been loving the lascannon with the strafing run. I basically use the lascannon as my primary and use the strafing run to clear the streets or take off harvester shields. It can down a harvester from across the map without over heating.
Wasp is great as a designated Illuminate deleter.
We tried a 3 man squad running MG43 , RR, and Wasp. Wasp prevented any drops getting called or Overseer issues. MG43 for Voteless and shields, RR to one shot Harvesters.
We just got the wasp permanently this morning, I'm going to put in some dives mastering it after vacation.
RR is S Tier on Gate Defence missions to the point its a cheesed snoose fest Metal Pigeon shooting
19:41 That was all the Arc Thrower
Meri Kirihimete!
Saying that the Airburst RL is ONLY good for shrikers has never shot a hulk between the legs.. I. my group of friends we call it the Big Stupid. But it is decent against bots but deleting an entire patrol of Illuminate in one shot is also smvery satisfying.
We call it spare parts, but hey I find the other weapons do its job x5 better.
@IronNomadGaming true, I'd only argue to say very niche at least, but I'm also the type of gamer who likes playing with trash weapons lol
@@IronNomadGaming Well... in my experience, there is no other support weapon which can kill an entire patrol with just one shot. From 300m. Plus have 30 kills (only illuminate).
Machine gun paired with peak physique armor is amazing
Hell without it, it's still amazing
I did get that armor in the store that has 50% reduction to arc, gas and fire. Pretty good vs the illum.
Oh yeah that's an excellent armor
The airburst is pkay on defense missions just because it completely clears the dropship beams instantly. Not saying its amazing, but it has a justifiable usecase
StarCraft, seeing the pre Mission screen ❤
Had to do the original, so good
Pairing the arc thrower with the guard dog makes mince meat of all of the illuminate units.
I've gotten multiple 900+ kill games with the airburst, it can kill an entire hoard with 1 rocket. The only thing it can't kill is the harvester
They are the easiest to fight…for now. We’re only facing a sliver of their true power.
12:46 i like the airburst and in the narrow streets where voteless and overseers bunch up the airbust can wipe almost all of them in one shot
(also good against bugs it can one shott shrieker nests and spore spewers but this is an uliminate tirelist)
the argument of it can kill you is null and void as 90% of strategems will do that if not used properly and the cluster bomb can in its new alt fire cluster bomb wont use proximity fusing but will detonate after a certain distance aswell as on impact i think it deserves high C low B way better then the damn wasp
I'm going to try firing it at a 45 degree angle. But it being a chaff clear rocket launcher, I dunno if I'll ever enjoy that playstyle.
well i still pare the arc thrower with the purifier, i can kill overseers with 2 charged shot, horde whipe voteless and stunlock an harvester, having 2 players with the arc thrower, and it melts the harvester, while it hurts the shield gen on its chin or his horns, but still i still pare it with the tesla tower since it can kill harvesters and stunlocks them if their shield is down/out but overseers can be smart and stay out of range, but i use the 'eagle straighing-run' to depelt the ufo ships, and whats my 4th slot??? ammo pack cus i can bearly find frags for my impacts and 1 shot the ufo ships but thats my load out

How fast does the telsa tower take down harvesters? I haven't tried that yet.
Easiest faction to fight? My brother in liberty tell me your secrets
Bullets. Lots of bullets.
Rail gun would be A if it had like an acog scope or something better than that green dot
If we could change the optics it would never leave s tier
Im a Airburst rocket launcher main. I can move the mountains for you using my Airburst. If you ao desire that. I use it against all the factions. It can also one shoot a charger or impaler.
Aye, exactly my experience. The Airburst launcher is S tier against illuminates with their large groups of clustered enemies.
You must be the guy team killing me with that shit every time I see it
@@dalej4241 Well, statistically, you got team-killed by a gatling turret. The airburst is quite safe, actually. If I am using it, I have about as many teamkills as with the crossbow.
My only beef with the commando is once its spent you can't reload it. HMG and MG you can keep stocked almost without effort thanks to the good citizens stock piles thought the city map.
I'm loving the new siege armor that gives more mags, I haven't had an issue with ammo.
@IronNomadGaming 100% siege ready is a solid armor perk. Makes it easy to feed the ammo heavy weapons.
Weapons have alt fires? Also, does difficulty raise enemy hp or defense or anything like that? Ive been playing on D9 a nd having a good time
Difficulty doesn't change hp or dmg from enemies. Just things like spawn rates/patrols/volume of enemies etc.
Sterilizer/Flamethrower and Dog-Breath Guard dog ✊🏽
sounds toxic and highly flammable, I love it.
@ great for crowd control not so much heavy units lol
And ther is me. Picking both commando and AMR in my loadout cause I l like luxury.
A wise helldiver.
3 minutes felt a lil long for an intro, but I love the tier list!
I feel ya lol. I guess I felt like talking in this one.
hmg eats harvesters for breakfast
It's an absolute beast
AutoCannon is absolutely D or maybe C tier agains them. I tried almost all weapons and this thing feels absolutely awful against illuminate. Overseers take 2-3 shots of it to die, if you are trying to get through shields with it, you cannot kill the thing after you take down the shield and then you have to wait the yearlong reload.... Even against drones, it feels horrible because of how much your aim can sway. If it was just the medium mobs, it could work but throwing in there the zombies, that are ALWAYS munching on you while trying to reload, no this thing feels horrible to use.
I've seen some crazy solo divers with the AC, I can't unsee how strong it can be.
I have undergone rigorous re-education on the airburst.. and perhaps I have judged it too harshly. I believe it belongs in a solid b tier position.
@@IronNomadGaming Thanks for considering the feedback! After my comment I read that you really want to love it. Best luck for your relation to the airburst 🙂
@@IronNomadGaming I just played again with airburst against illuminate: I got between 10 and 17 kills for the "meaty" rockets - but none with 30.
I really like when you put the videos in where you get inspiration from your build it tells a cool story like with halo build
@IronNomadGaming I love the spear I wish it got more love than it already has. Super underrated weapon system
If you need to write an essay to justify the weapon then it sucks
Nah airburst is the only one that needs changing, it’s better than the cluster bomb cuz you can very accurately control where it hits at a moments notice especially after giving it smart targeting. Yes it team kills every now and then but that is all due to skill of the player. I think it could be as good as S tier in the right hands
It is better after I've taken some tips from replies. I'd move it to b tier, no more no less.
I'd move it to b tier after my intense re-education on the weapon.
Airburst on defend missions is A+
That might be another reason I don't use it, I barely do defense missions and when I do it's a full sentry kit.
Not a stratagem weapon but does the Las 16 Sickle feel like it overheats to quickly now even on snow planets
Yeah did they ninja nerf it? I know the sound got changed, which I liked the original sound better.
@IronNomadGaming Idk man all I know is it was my go-to weapon and now it feels off
Arc Thrower is GOD TIER
but where are the SPEAR lovers!
Bro, like four harvesters totally derping on uber easy shots on you with their eye beam in the first few minutes of your video. What the heck?! They only deployed their D tier harvesters against you apparently.
Or I'm really elusive with my wiggles
I thought the illuminate are some of the hardest for me. Bots have nothing in these tanky bastards.
HMG and mg not being in S tier is not true at all illuminate were clearly made with those support strata’s in mind being strong especially because of sheilds
I wouldn't argue with someone who had them in s tier, they're both insanely good.
Nahhh Stalwart on max rpm SHREDS everything, A tier at LEAST (besides harvesters)
I find this.. hard to disagree with. Time for a re-ranking list.
Grenade launcher can't even take out a Harvester
Oh it can.. just not as consistent as the other weapons.
Amr destroys the armourd plates i think
Auto cannon can 4 shot a harvester... How is it b tier?
B tier is good! AMR does the same job basically but is easier to use, better range, reload on the run and doesn't have a backpack. BUT yes.. AC is really good, no denying that.
easiest faction to fight ??? what do you mean lol i can barely solo complete 1/5 missions for Illuminates at difficulty 5 while it's a breeze against any other faction xD
railgun in B? heresy
Air Burst is not only for Shriekers😭😭😭😭😭 What??? I’ve been rocking it since it dropped. Learn how to use it and see the glory. Automatons don’t stand a chance with me. Also, Arch Thrower is death angel teir
Listen..I've been on the wrong side of this thing too many times! Let's just say this is from an average diver and the airburst is not meant for us.
try the auto cannon burst shot for crowd control it does wonders
Autocannon is B Tier? You is smoking crack. S Tier.
I'd bump this up to A, I was being tough on it.
Tier list needs work
I'll take that input and............
W list!
Lol thanks.
Why do you keep saying illuminid? Do you have a speech impediment?
English is my second language.
amr s tier lol
and yet no one defends the SPEAR!
They do keep you down until you die 😂 keep saying “get tf up!!”
Lol
