Great video and awesome explanations. I successfully replaced the tensioner, belt, and bearings. Turned out one of the bearings was damaged. Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial!
Thanks for the video. I did this last night. My issue was the pulley, which like you we're saying was a common cause. I decided to change all the bearings as well. I couldn't have done it without the great shots of everything you did. Cheers!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. My dryer starting clunking. I called the local repair guys who said that it would be 3 days until they could come. I’m cool with that. Thanks for the video. I just fixed our 7yr old Samsung dryer. In my case the squeaking was coming from the front lower wheel but I replaced all of them along with the pulley and belt. Nice to see all the components of a dryer for future reference. Should be easy to fix. FYI. I didn’t have to remove the back panel to replace the wheels. I was able to squeeze an open end wrench back there.

Thank you for this great video! It was well explained and I was able to find my roller in the back completely disintegrated. I ordered a complete replacement kit including idler and belt. Figured I was in there anyway. Again, thank you. I also have done a few appliance videos to help others.
My friend you saved me a boat load of money. Was able to determine one of the back roller wheels was broken after watching your video. Fully thought I was going to have to buy a new dryer. Also made about $2 in change with all the money found in the bottom of the machine :D
Awesome video, thank you! One of the bearings to a roller wheel had blown out on my dryer. I did a full kit replacement since I had already disassembled the dryer. I was also able to give it a good cleaning. Good as new for only the cost of a kit and one hour of time!
Worked like a charm for me. The back right roller wheel was frozen on mine. It seems to be the most load bearing of the four roller wheels. Thanks very much for posting this video!
I’ve watched multiple videos and this one is the only one that shows exactly how to make the repair. Plus I ordered all the parts for under $60 from Ben’ Appliances. Samsung sells each part for $60 each. I saved so much money!
This video was very helpful even with the quick reassemble. The only thing that would make it complete is slowing it down when the belt was put back on so you could get a better view of how it's setup. All in all I would highly recommend watching it if you need to fix anything related to your belt assembly.
You forgot to mention something! If the drum rollers fail within a year of being replaced, it's likely the felt seal on the drum is too worn and needs to be replaced. Dirt is able to get past it and ruin the rollers. The hardest part was finding a felt seal that would work. I used a felt seal meant for an LG dryer in my samsung dryer and it worked just fine. The process of removing, cleaning and installing the new seal was pretty straightforward and it's lasted close to 4 years so far without needing further repairs. I'm not an appliance repairman myself, but I still have a Samsung front load dryer like this one from 2008. When the motor finally gives out, it'll be time for a speed queen.
Worked like a charm!! My tension wheel had seized and belt grinded right throught it. Also had a bad roller. Replaced everything. Quiet as every. Thank you
Thanks, Man! I did it with your help! My model was a bit different but more or less the same. As i removed the screws i placed them in a plastic sandwhich bag with a sticky note where they came from. Also, be careful not to bend any of the sheet metal if possible, since affect lining up the screw holes when you put it back together. Thanks Again Man!!!
Awesome video tutorial! Just what I needed to fix my dryer. It was the rollers on mine that went bad. Also thanks for the link. You saved me $170 from purchasing from other online parts houses.

Thanks for all your efforts. I bought a new tensioner the old one failed and seems to be a week point. Not a bad job but took me a couple of hours and needed an extra set of hands for ten minutes to reinstall the drum and yes there is lint everywhere have a vacuum handy. Again thanks for your video it really helped.

I have an Amana gas dryer that makes noise when the burner comes on. I’m confident enough now to take it apart and look for a problem. Thanks for the vid.
Nice! An Amana Dryer is going to be almost the same exact thing in terms of what to look for. Disassembly is different, but I think I have a video or two of Amana dryers coming apart. All the parts you need to look for are on the FRONT of the dryer like this rather than rear.
Well done video. Have a squeal in my 9 year old Whirlpool that I suspect is the idler, but now I may order rollers as well. Not identical arrangement, but close enough to figure out. ** Thanks for stressing the importance of cleaning, that's exactly how to prevent fires aside from clean lint traps. As soon as my new repair room is done I'll be shooting the same ideas for Whirlpool/Maytag dryers. Got a NASTY Kenmore (really WP Built) that had the rear bulkhead that holds the drum shred itself in half... Horrible thing... All caused by a $10 roller wheel. My dry was getting worse and worse on making noise and squeaks. Took it a park just like this video said. Everything looked good. But just put some wd40 then white lightening. Back together and bam. Perfect thank you sir
Loved this video very helpful to get it taken apart and put together again, but dryer is having issues spinning the drum now? Any adea what could have gone wrong? I took it apart twice to see what could have gone wrong but I just can't tell!
Hey Ben, I’m curious if you recommend lubricating the rollers (or anything else) with WD-40, white lithium grease, or any other lubricant OR if you actually do NOT recommend doing so? (Bonus question: I have a matching Samsung washer with no cleanable filter trap. We have many dogs, and I swear our washer redistributes hair (and what seems like fibers) into future loads. Might you have a video addressing best way to try to remedy this?) Thanks for an informative, clear, and excellently summarized video!
So we did this and replaced the heating element at the same time with your kit. Is there something we missed that would make the dryer stop heating after these replacements?
Is the bearing on the tensioner pulley suppose to feel more tight or just as loose as the other rollers?? I have a noise I’m looking for can’t seem to find it, but it wasn’t a repetitive noise or squeak that something a belt or roller would do.
Thank you very much for this video. I was able to get all the way through taking the dryer apart, cleaning it, replacing the parts, and putting it back together. This was so very helpful.
Do the blue and the red wire has to be at the same order before you take it off from the heating element? Cause before you removed the wire the Red power wire was on the top and when you go back to install it the Red power was on the bottom.
The. Video was easy to follow but I wish u mentioned what section would make each kind of noise so we could order the parts before taking the machine Part
That's not going to happen. You have to physically take it apart to determine which part has failed. If you want to order parts ahead of time, just order the whole roller and pulley kit. Chances are, its all going to end up failing, and putting all brand new parts on will prevent you from needing to take it apart all over again in a few months or year.
Great video. My Samsung dryer makes a rattling noise, but only on one setting. Tried other settings with similar heat/time and no rattling noise. Any ideas?
Hello. Have a question. We just moved yo a different state and my dryer was working quiet. After deliveey its very noisy. Could of it been bended or crooked during transport to start making noise?
We have a squealing Speedqueen dryer at work. Sounds like a bad belt or bad bearing if they have those. I don't see any videos on Speedqueen are they fairly easy to work on? Are they worth the money for home use? (I am building a house myself and debating appliances. The ones at the firestation where I work seem to hold up to heavy use well, minus the recent squealing dryer.)
On my Samsung dryer, I didn't need to remove the plastic panel piece (:51), and was able to slip a 17mm wrench behind the rear bulkhead, so didn't have to remove the heating element or rear bulkhead (5:23). It frosts me that Samsung didn't use sealed bearings for the tension pulley or drum rollers; it's like Samsung designs in 5 year planned obsolescence at the cost of a couple dollar parts.
Do you have any tips when putting the dryer back together? I felt like it was difficult to keep the dryer up on the wheels while trying to get the front bulkhead reattached.
Yep, so annoying. When it comes to cars, appliances (basically anything) the goal seems like it's to absolutely screw the consumer and makes them buy a new product ASAP ...
Please share the actual noise before going into the repair video. That will let us know whether we need to keep researching. I watched 80% of the video. Thank you
That requires me to have one with a certian pitch of noise. I can't typically record that every time, and if I waited to do such a video, this one would never get made and wouldn't of helped thousands repair their unit already.
Very well done video. Gave me the confidence to take ours apart. It would have been nice to hear some of the strange noises linked with a particular failure before you tore it down. You mentioned a reassembly video, but I couldn't find it. I will watch this one in reverse. :)

Good luck sir 🎉
Great Video. Thank you.
For just a few more bucks, they could have designed these machines to be so much easier to maintain.
Yep, so annoying. When it comes to cars, appliances (basically anything) the goal seems like it's to absolutely screw the consumer and makes them buy a new product ASAP ...
Great video! thank you for sharing!
Full assembly video? I’m not seeing a video link.
Very well done video. Gave me the confidence to take ours apart. It would have been nice to hear some of the strange noises linked with a particular failure before you tore it down. You mentioned a reassembly video, but I couldn't find it. I will watch this one in reverse. :)
Dude. Thank you so much.
