- Back again into the Corsair. But this time, I swaped out the F4U-1D with the F4U-4B, enhancing the already lethal armaments into M3 cannons. Another low-speed dogfight against a Fw 190 A-8.

@@lv-rt3hci reenacted that scene with an enemy had full guns on his underbelly. Literally shredded him. On top of that I had a 4 kill kill streak. This game has its moments.

Even though corsair has a stronger engine, 190 has better thrust to weight ratio and as such I don't recommend using vertical against a 190 in a corsair
I was in the F4U-4B before they updated its flight model (they made it arguably worse now)
Well the A-8 is also the heaviest 190, and as he said he’s flying the B model, so I think the vertical was a good option here
That’s really only for F4U-1s, the F4U-4s have really cracked vertical performance when not stock

I agree this is a very effective way to destroy the target but i think you should have just turned with him fully, it is a focke wulf 190 and that thing does not turn at all. It would cost you less damage (to your corsair) and more to the 190
It’s not really a smart thing to try and turn fight in a Corsair unless you have an objective speed advantage. It turns like a dream at speeds of 300-400 mph but is a brick otherwise.

I dont have War Thunder, so I cant try. Ive got it done in another game, but that game doesnt have the most realistic physics in the world, to put it mildly 😅
I was able to cruise with the nose pitched up, drop the throttle until I got a stall warning, then full back and full throttle to get the nose up. I ended up killing the throttle about 3/4th of the way up and that (in that particular game) allowed for the plane to keep pitching up without climbing. Then, forward pressure to bring the nose down and hit the throttle to maintain flight and not stall out.
....again, though, in the game im talking about: the plane cant roll inverted unless its nose up 🤷♂️😅 so, I assume it can be done in that game, but probably not in other games like War Thunder or in real life (the latter, obviously, as the plane doesnt have the best stall performance, Ive heard... I mean, to my understanding, when it stalls, there is a lack of control surface authority, correct?).

M3's got hit pretty hard with the HE nerf for pretty much every guy that requires HE to essentially work, so I'd suggest taking some Ground Target belts since it gets more AP rounds that deal more consistent damage
