didn't lose my data, but it did ruin my boot. i booted from a live cd mounted my drive to /mnt, chrooted to /mnt like normal and re-ran grub config. everything seems to be good now
your boot loader will probably be borked by doing this. i had to boot from live cd, mount my drive somewhere and re-run grub-mkconfig edit: and yep, i didn't notice any data loss. except for the whole break boot loader part, but that's minor since you can rebuild it
yes totally OK, GPT Scheme has protective mbr sector at the beginning for backward compatibility reasons. when writing GPT table, will add gpt table that contains data about partitions at the beginning after the mbr sector which becomes protective, as well as add backup table at the end of the hard, which may erase data at these places of hard. typically it is better than erasing all data.

WARNING: This will cause data loss. Just like other comments, I too have lost all my data. This is very bad advice and the video should be removed.
Do you follow the same steps, like the video?
