    Awesome proof of concept man, It's crazy how playing some of these older games under software emulation for so long jades you. MiSTer makes these retro games look and play amazingly well. Great job man!

    Great video man, I've been wanting to put my MiSTer rig into a bartop sometime. Your "Mustang engine in a Pinto" analogy cracked me up, my uncle used to use that one :)

    Very nice. I've been thinking about integrating a MiSTer into one of my cabinets for quite some time now. You've re-motivated me! Thanks!

      Arcade Sunday No problem, the menu buttons will be trick for access but i have to think there is a creative way to run wires to the control panel form the IO board to some new buttons.

    It’s even better when you put the mister in a crt screen. I got my Mister with an old 20” crt tv.

      Jose C oh man. I may have to do that when I finally put it in a real arcade.

    If I have an Arcade1Up cab that is already modded with a 60n1 (so it’s jamma with the LCD converter), can I just plug in a MISTer and play?

    • @therexershow
      @therexershow  2 года назад

      If you had the MisterCade yes , I believe so. But if you don’t have that adapter then you don’t have a way to connect the Jamma harnesses to the mister. I believe the MisterCade gives you the ability to simply plug a Jamma harness right into mister and map buttons accordingly. You would have to research more.

    I'm doing this now and just came across your video. Seems like you went all out with the Mister, joystick, and buttons, but then went with a cheap zero delay encoder board instead of something that offers lower latency like a Brook Pi Zero or i-pac. Any reasoning behind that? Also, have you found any way to use the arcade1up power switch to turn on and off the Mister?

    • @therexershow
      @therexershow  2 года назад +1

      I have a power switch on my mister now that was a specialty order with power switch and I guess i would have had to remove the 1up power switch and somehow insert the mister power switch to it. I used a zero delay because I had it lying around and it worked. Brooks are expensive. Thanks for watching.

    I did the same with my SF2 Arcade 1UP A while ago. Maybe worth taking a look at my show and tell on my channel.

    Nice review, how does using a mister on a 1up help with emulation ? It seems as it would create a bad bottle neck knowing the quality of the monitor is very poor

    • @therexershow
      @therexershow  4 года назад

      The monitor definitely isn’t doing Mister any justice in how it can display , but Mister hardware emulation is so much better and accurate then the emulation 1up uses in their arcades. You could easily swap out the monitor and put a nice 1080p with low response time.

    HAHAHA crapy... And not emation but true hardware baked in. Its arcade perfect! Not that CRAP 1 up emulation

      Once I figure out the best way to bring up the menu select option from the control panel, I will be be putting this Mister into a larger well built cab. Thanks for the comment!

      PITBULL do you have a mister? I really need to figure out how to run wires from the IO board buttons and make new buttons to manage the interface. But I’m working on some other projects while I try to figure that out.

      @@therexershow I actually have fpga Jamma boards bitkit, mylstar and Williams . Let me look into it there is a way to do it it's not totally obvious obviously because those are made to be used with TV monitors ECT give me a few let me check it out I'll let you know check out smoke Monster on RUclips he does a lot almost everything exclusively with the mister
