Our male is 9 months and 80lbs, his dad is a lean 140 and hails from south America, there are Definetly giant giants in the blood line, regardless of whether or not snobs are willing to acknowledge it. He’s AKC and we have his whole blood line in this awesome tree that includes pictures/names/awards. His mom is 80lbs. The deep chest of this breed allows for them to hide some serious weight up there. As long as the taper exists on the waist (hard to tell in your vid as hes a shaggy boy). Anyway rock on 🤘
Thanks! I owned this dog's great grandad 50 yrs ago. He weighed 140 lbs. I imported him from Stockholm, Sweden. He became famous and showed at Westminster Show in NY and was a champion. His son named after him, owned by a professional handler won Westminster 5 yrs. in a row and was considered the best Giant Schnauzer in the entire world at that time. This dog I have now came from the most famous Giant Schnauzer kennel in the world in California. You never know how much these Giant Schnauzers will weigh. My other Giant Schnauzer weighed 100 lbs. For the record, anytime someone says they are not wanting to mock you, then goes on to criticize....they are mocking you. Giants can range in a wide variety of weights. Depending on gender, bloodline, and where they are born. The Bavarian lines usually hit the mid-level weights (between 70 and 90 pounds). The American lines do tend to get a bit heavier. I've seen working lines at 120+ pounds and they put in some serious bite work. But I have also seen some "show" lines at 65+ pounds that will bite the snot out of you too. Good to see this owner working the dog and building the confidence. Because a confident Giant, no matter what the weight, is an excellent companion.
