I ordered the burner from the link put in the description of your last video; however I received a different model KR-S2 even tho the box says PCR-S1. The description for the KR-S2 says capacity weight is 15lbs. I think a water bath canner with filled jars weighs more than that. Do you know if you have the PCR-S1 or the KR-S2? It should be listed on the bottom of the burner.

@@seedandsparrowhomestead thanks so much! I ask because Amazon does have another product page for the KR-S2 for less than the product page for PCR-S1, so may as well return and order the lower priced one.

Mine says kr-s2! It looks like they’ve done away with the pcr-s1 and are replacing with the kr-s2. They look exactly the same and on their website they no longer list the pcr -s1. All reviews say it has worked for canning and some have had success with an all American pressure canner(I have not tried yet). Perhaps read through the reviews, they are mixed. I’ve had success 3 times now with a 21 quart water bath canner!

The last part of the video gave the viewer a better understanding of *_WHY DO THEY PLANT SO MUCH STUFF?_* (I too have wanted to REALLY understand!)
It's because, if you don't then you're only growing for FRESH EATING. Your not growing enough to get a 'family of four' through to the next _Planting Season much less the next Harvest!_ Thank you. More 'Homesteaders' should show us HOW MUCH IT LITERALLY takes, depending on your goal. Nothing wrong with just wanting or needing 'Fresh Eating' but if you want or need more, you have to grow more. Kudos!

I know you feel like you’re frazzled and not doing your best work but I think you’re wrong.
The season of having little ones underfoot is hard. And you’ve managed to not only grow your little people and enrich their lives, but you’ve grown a beautiful, abundant garden, and then used the fruits of your labour to stock your pantry to feed your family.
That is some of the hardest (yet most rewarding) work there is. And you’re gracious enough to film it and share it with us all.
Thank you for showing us how you get it done, even when it’s not the prettied up, artistic version you would prefer to put out.
In your realness you should people the true amount of consistent effort this all takes, and that’s valuable.

Hi Kelsey❤ have you ever considered getting a fruit saver? It’s so darn fast. All you do is put water in the bottom, put the jars on the rack they provide and put the lid over seven jars. Then you bring the water to a boil and it steams the jars. Way less water, so much faster. The processing time is the same as a water bath, but it doesn’t take a half hour to heat up the giant pot of water. Girl! It’s a game changer. I will never go back to heating a million litres of water again. I got mine from Amazon. Have a great weekend. Peace and love ☮️💕

I used my roaster and it was a 2 day process, but I was following the Living Traditions recipe and Sara spent 3 days on hers, so I knew what I was getting into. LOL I grow tomatoes, but not nearly enough so I supplement my harvest with tomatoes in bulk from a local farmer. The harvest is outstanding and once again the preservation choices are inspiring. I think the bruschetta in a jar is a great gift idea if like you said it holds up.
My mind was racing with questions and ideas just listening to you talk thru your plans and the processes you were using.
I love the idea of creating the chili starter! Having the mix of things ready to go for recipes one makes a lot of, is a great approach as opposed to single item preserving…still a fabulous idea and one I use for general meal prep but when you have things you make fairly regularly it’s like having the convenience of a bag of veggies bought from a store but instead grown and preserved with the highest level of nutritional value! I’m curious if after roasting your peppers, you’ve put them in the freeze dryer? Would the flavor or texture have a noticeable change if it’s just going to be added to something cooked?
On a side note Kelsey, the roses in your garden are just magical. The beautiful soft colors just woo you in as a peaceful resting spot. We’re all tired about this time in the garden/preserving process but you are doing an amazing job. Thank you for taking us along. Take care of yourself! 🤗🩷

Could you do me a solid favour and tell me what is the name of the red pepper you say is your favourite? I can't find it anywhere and the video does not give a clear name. TY. Hugs from Esquimalt
