Heracross is a must for a full bug team. I'm planning in Kricketune, Sandy Wormadam, Vespiquen, Heracross, Scizzor and... I'm still not sure which one will be my last. Maybe Dustox? Also make sure you are not on custom time or it won't work (berries won't grow either). Make sure your time is syncronized woth real world time.

@@PhillyBeatzU oh dude also if u reset for a shiny you also have a chance to change the gender and level of the pokemon so getting multiple female burmys is a lot easier.

IIRC, honey trees couldn't be shiny hunted, the shiny factor of the pokemon was defined the moment you slathered honey, not at the encounter (but that was for the original game tho, could be different)

I def agree but that’s why I carry my switch with me everywhere I go. Even to work 😂. I set a timer for 6 hours and the minute that goes off I take my break and boom hit all the trees. I am a very unlucky person at times though so I haven’t gotten munchlax or heracross. I’m only on my 6th badge though so I wonder if you have to unlock everything for the trees to work properly or you’ll just get the common stuff idk. It’s either that or the last 4 trees I need to unlock are the “lucky trees” either way I’m still trying regardless and once I do the berry and tree runs I then push the story along. So I have a nice pace going enjoying the game and searching every square inch while farming berries and trees.
The the golden honey tree icons go away again after 24 hours once there can‘t be any Pokemon found anymore or does every tree you once slathered with honey stay golden on the map?
Yeah, that happened to a few of my trees too. Apparently, sometimes honey will fail. If the trees don’t shake after 6 hours, you just have to slather on more honey.
Does the 2IV+ animation activate for honey tree pokemon too? Once you slather the honey does the IV of what pokemon is spawbed the same or csn the IV change?
The 24 hour timer is a real pain in the neck, I tried to shiny hunt aipom but my 24 hours ran out so did another round of trees and didn’t find a single aipom, might just have to forget about the trees and shiny hunt him in the underground

I'm attempting to catch them all before I go into the Eterna Forest. I applied some honey on the first three trees, but only two of them had some Pokémon. What does it mean if there's still nothing in a tree?

With 21 Honey Trees (HT) in Sinnoh and only 4 being Special Trees you have a 19% chance to have your first HT be Special and 81% chance to be Regular. Heracross only shows up in Rare Encounters. Rare Encounters show up 20% of the time in Regular HTs and 70% of the time in Special HTs. Accounting for the odds of a Rare Encounter and the odds of a Heracross in said Rare Encounter, a Regular HT has 1% chance of spawning a Heracross and a 3.5% chance in a Special HT. Accounting for Odds of Regular HT and a Heracross in it + Odds of Special HT and a Heracross in that, @Alex Garibay had just shy of 1.5% chance of finding a Heracross on their first HT encounter. Edit: Sources are Bulbapeidia (number of HTs) and Serebii (odds of Encounters)

No, trees could be hunted. Only thing that's determined right when you slather is species.
