About the game:
Instruments of Destruction features an advanced physics-based destruction system. You can demolish every structure in the game piece by piece. In addition, every object you see in the game world--save for small decorative plants and rocks--is part of the physics system. Each element of the world interacts with each other and together they create a physical, visceral world to play with.
Build Your Vehicle
Build a vehicle your way, with an ever-expanding array of parts and pieces. Using an intuitive vehicle construction system that also lets you customize your vehicles' appearance and controls, you'll always have fun creating your next awesome invention.
From simple splitters to advanced joints, a variety of parts slowly unlock as you play through the game, and each unlocks countless new possibilities.
While some vehicles will perform better than others in accomplishing your objectives, it's always a bit more fun to get creative and go a little off script. Optional bonus challenges and objectives will reward more creative builders and add more replayability.

I recently made an earthquake generator that doesn't need mega impacts and still deletes buildings (with mega impacts it instantly deletes the hole map) i just stacked a bunch of weight blocks and upward facing pistons to pull them into the ground
It was so heavy it pulled the ground anchor's quite far off the ground
I highly recommend you try making one like this, its lots of fun and plenty of screen shake

Man gonna recreate 2010 earthquake
Made one after scrapman made his vid on the hammer thing. Litterally used 8 doubled overdrive pistons to repeatidly smash the ground with a 100-200k kilos weight and it shredded buildings.

Upgrades for the earthquake machine, use logic to toggle on the sequence (attach wait destruction) and reverse the actions when the button is hit again.
I wonder what would happen if you do a double or even a triple earth quake generater
I was thinking of this too, but with 2 wrecking balls out of sync to generate more shockwaves, instead of 2+ balls synced to generate bigger shockwaves

You should have changed minimum distance on the piston to make it retract more and it would be hitting from longer travel
you could 10/10 time a bunch of these to go in series filling in the off beat/not shockwave generating hits for each other like a rolling set of shockeaves that would be pretty sick
The way it jumped at 17:34 made me think of an absurdly destructive pogo stick. Next video idea perhaps?
add the gravity thing and pull the debris to you. I think that would be fun.

Would be cool to see the minimum distance changed to make it so less distance is required for impact (haven't watched the rest yet so might of happened)
Exactly, how is he expecting any oompf if there is no wind-up. The reinforced mode was better simply because it lifted the entire thing off the ground, effectively decreasing min distance.

Idea: A literal Crazy Train! It’s a normal train locomotive, (no tender), with 2 coaches!
Train- instead of steam it’s cannon balls that come out of the funnel, the driving wheels can drop or throw mines.
First Coach- shoots cannons on both sides of the coach.
Second Coach- same as the first except it’s lasers.
The main idea is to go to one side then drive past the frontside of the buildings while shooting the cannons and lasers to destroy the buildings while moving or not moving! Hope ScrapMan sees this!

Haven't finished the video yet but I think this would work better if you lowered the minimum piston extension so it has time to build more momentum before hitting the ground.

That first "free roam jackhammer" was like an inch worm of death
Why not try to do something like a pogo stick (not the actual shape) that jumps and then hits the ground with pistons when falling, that way you add the force of the pistons and gravity to make bigger shock waves.
That was extremely satisfying

14:53 With the new logic parts, you could make it so the anchors automatically engage just before the earthquake mechanism starts. And then turn them off again some time after the mechanism stops. That way the order of operations is automatically correct :)
This idea needs to be scale to see if bigger and taller vehicle = bigger earthquakes and can you have one add multiple piston steel balls to see if it makes a difference
Watching the vehicle speed bounce 0-80 whole staying stationary during an earthquake is fast more amusing than it should be
15:27 that building is just cursed. It can randomly explode, attack other buildings, and launch random pieces in random directions. It's a running theme now.
You could theoretically make the shockwaves come faster if you put two pistons and wrecking balls that go at the same time but one starts before the other one. So they are alternating.

Try making a hover vehicle using magnets and magnetic plates.
3:41 gives the same energy as letting your pet fish, you've had for years into the wild/sea and as soon as your about to say "be free [insert generic fish name here]-'" a bird just comes in and gobles it up.
I could recommend a machine that could maybe fly directly up and come back down at super sonic speed piecing the ground with a pointy tip. To harness all of the energy into one small point of impact.

from the way it reacted, i believe the bigger the item hitting the ground the bigger the shockwave, from the way the shockwave compared from just the wrecking ball hitting it, to ur entire creation hitting the ground

The ammount of Magic Wand jokes I could make are truely infinite for this video.
So, two ideas, try replacing the ball with a spike and put 4 of them on your vehicle. Another idea, try putting the vibrating mechanism on your earthquake missile, it seems to be way stronger.

The shockwave hammer at 0:33 reminds me of Fencer's Vibro Hammers and Vulcan Hammers in the game Earth Defence Force 4.1, these cc strikers weapons destroy buildings very easily and are very good for giant insects "crowd control" (killing multiple at once)

oh yeah it's basically the same thing as a Vulcan Hammer but a lot weaker
(the Vulcan Hammer ZD does 12k damage in one hit AND 90% damage reduction for the user during the swing animation)
Suggestion: a machine which removes a building from its base and turns it into a hat. You could call it the Hattinator
12:32 sometimes there are double shockwaves, medium and slightly bigger medium. there are also medium and slightly bigger mediums that might happen, it makes two different sized shockwaves

wonder how effect would change if you widen the attachment point and add a extra wrecking ball on each side
Could you generate the shockwaves by hitting two parts of the same construction? I think that if that is possible, you can make very powerful shockwave generators in small spaces.
It would be interesting to see this machine with more than piston!

Build a magnet cannon that slams a large metal ball (Or any roundish object(s)) into the ground to create a massive shock wave.
try adding more of the thing that creates the shockwaves to it cause it might make more shockwaves at a time and do more damage. You should also make a flying version where it floats above and drops and just disintegrates the building.

The machine falling to the ground and slamming the ground perfectly timed by accident near the end of the video gave me an idea
Your rocket that slammed into the ground but put a piston on the tip so just before it hits it slams the ground with added force of the rocket massive shockwave
an interesting concept could be a controlled vortex so nothing outside of the building is damaged and the debris is collected to be dumped in the ocean to show supportfor plastic pollution

The reinforced shockwaves seem to be more horizontal and less bubble-y
There were several times in the video where the buildings got launched by the shockwave with part of the building still intact, so what if you try to make a building levitate or get launched with just shockwaves?

Try making a vehicle that floats on water, and then attach the earthquake generator on it. And get 3 Earthquake generators and use logic to make them go one after the other producing constant shockwaves.
Scrapman you should have tested it with tough structures on, To see how the buildings would hold up

I think the amount of mass during the impact(s) is what that affects the range. which does make sense.
For maximum impact you could build a immensely heavy vehicle and figure out a way to launch it into the air (and have it slam down), not unlike a jumping jack

I think you underutilized the settings on the piston quite a bit. The min and starting position levers would also change the average position of the piston while under oscillation, which would fix the problem of high strength settings not reaching the ground. Not sure how exactly it would affect it, but putting the starting and min positions to as close to the ground as possible without touching should at least have some interesting effect on it.
You should try using one of those super heavy feet instead of a wrecking ball, more weight might make for more violent earthquakes.
