Hey Leo, thank you for the video. I thought I had many of these concepts down but I guess we learn until we die. Can you recommend some advanced study material, for example some books on typography / grids etc. ?
@@tanczosandras599 yeah I will be uploading a part 2 of typography tips but if you like books the ones I like are type form and function stop stealing the sheep and learn how typography works (one of my favorites) type matters. is a great book too!! But if you still want to learn I will make an effort and make more advanced videos about typography and design what type of videos would you like to see in the future ?
Thank you so much!! I will be making more of these videos showing this type of information from typography books I'm glad i can show you things that not many graphic designers know! thank you so much for your comment!
thank you so much! I will keep up posting great graphic design content that can be helpful. in What area of graphic design would you like to learn more ?
Found you from the Graphic Design facebook group! Thanks for creating such helpful Typography content for more people to learn more helpful tips and to see typography and letters better.
Than you so much I’m working in an indesign cc tutorial for beginners with some typography tips included would you like to see more typography content ? Or what type of videos would you like to see in the future ?
@@LeoRivero I'd love to see what common mistakes you've seen beginners make in using typography in indesign! I definitely have one perspective, since I've helped my Typography students and with my calligraphy, but it always helps to see more perspective from someone who have had a different audience than mine :)
Thanks, Leo Rivero, I found this video valuable. "Graphic design theory" is what actually I was looking for. Waiting for your next video. Following you on Instagram for upcoming updates.
Thank you so much I try to emphasize the theory because those things are really what makes a great graphic designer thank you so much for your comment!! 😄
In comparing small caps "BROWN FOX" with the reduced in the second version, it should be noted that the first instance has too much space between letters.
@@LeoRivero Yes, to my eye there is a bit too much room between the letters. They have the right weight but kerning needs adjusting. When I was a young designer I worked in San Francisco. There was a large company where type was set by expert typographers for pasteups. They all lost their jobs when desktop publishing arrived. To their eyes most graphic design by young people looked highly unprofessional and that had to do with automatic kerning.
You're welcome! I love making typography videos! Are you tryign to learn more anbout typography ? there are some great videos in this channel like the typography tips part 2 and Adobe Indesign presentation, & Making and braking the grid!
thank you so much for your comment are you interested in learn more about typography in general or you would like to see other type of videos in the channel?
@@merakicedarwoods Awesome! I will focus in more content of theory out of the books that's seems to bee important and useful for new designers! what do you think?
This is very helpful, I think your audio level is inconsistent (turns low then turns high, somehow attention-stealing); Nonetheless, this video is worth watching, thanks.
Thank you so much for your feedback I will try to improve my audio quality! I will try to share more of this great content of graphic design and typography books
ohh, I'm sorry to hear that can you tell me where in the tutorial I can improve so I can clarify that in the next video ? again I try my best to share the knowledge that I can for free and any way you could help me share the right content is really appreciated what do you think ?

@@LeoRiveroI don’t have time to rewatch your video. It’s the bit where you explain completely incorrectly how to do small caps.

hi leooo
hello! how are you ?
Yep good
I was watching this video and found that ur name is also leo lol
BA shouldn’t be small caps. Also you are wrong, you can just use opentype small caps and then you don’t have to use make lowercase first.
