The vison jet is a class of its own as a light weight single engine jet but 3m for this is pretty good. It’s in every way better than a cirrus vison cruise speeds, useful load at max fuel is higher. Range on single pilot only is 1600nm so this starts being more of a Honda jet killer now
Will kill nothing yet. Currently, this is an experimental kit built plane, not a certified aircraft. Still, if some has 3.5 million lying around and has the time to build their own plane, this might be an interesting project. I wonder how much it will cost to insure it?
Why not say “competitor” or “another option” instead of killer.. we need more GA to enjoy and more options for customers on a tight budget :)
Nothing is going to be a "Cirrus" killer. Cirrus is a juggernaut. Their planes are far and away the best sellers in their respective catagories. And they have a loyal fan base. I doubt that they will ever be dethroned.
This jet is awesome! The air intakes are much more beautiful and practical than those of the C. Jet (V-tail). They look like those pioneer military jets, like Cessna Dragonfly or the newer Aermacchi MB-339.
This plane is currently being offered as an experimental kit built plane, not a certified aircraft. If you have 3.5 million lying around and has the time to build your own plane, it might be an interesting project. Keep in mind only one has actually been built (at the factory). They say they do plan to eventually offer a certified version. However, it faces the same obstacle that any single engine cabin class jet faces. At 41,000 feet if you loose that one engine, you instantly loose pressurization. To quote Rod Machado, "bad thing". Your approximate time of useful consciousness at 41,000 feet is 15 seconds. They will have to have a solution for that that satisfies the FAA before it can be certified to that altitude. Still, I hope they get certified. Competition is a good thing. It could force competitors to step up there game, or at least lower their prices.
Good looking plane, but those intakes are in a bad place...gonna cost a lot of money when they continually vacuum up Foreign Objects and ramp rats.
