Automated sorting and stacking at fish auctions place (CCI Métropolitaine Bretagne Ouest)

The port of Guilvinec is the 2nd in France in terms of landed value. Its marketplace, the auction, is the link between producers and downstream buyers. They provide workers and equipment for all applications (unloading, weighing, sorting and selling fish).
For decades, operators have managed sales and materials management involving many heavy manual handling of fish boxes in difficult conditions (cold and humid environment).
In order to increase productivity while improving working condition of the employees and reducing the MSD (musculoskeletal disorder), the auction has automated this process with RFID chips and 2 HE robots (Hygienic design and humid Environment compliant ) from Stäubli.
