He was on The Lost City, that level's Gem is the special Green Gem which makes a later level A LOT Shorter which has a green gem path on it that takes you right from the start to the end so you skip the entire level.
@@slyboy78 This, the green gem is for a gem path in Castle Machinery, where you basically skip the entire level and get a bunch of lives at the same time

I love speedrunners - they get mad and throw tantrums when the game *doesn't* glitch.
Only reason HeyZeusHeresToast failed the speedrun for Bloodborne wasn’t because of the ladders themselves; it was because he should’ve popped an Antidote. For those who have or haven’t played Bloodborne, underneath both the Forbidden Woods and Iosefka’s Clinic is a poison swamp with 3 Church Giants; Slow and Rapid Poison in Bloodborne are like Poison and Toxic in Dark Souls, and Antidotes are required for both status effects (Frenzy, on the other hand, is a status effect which requires Sedatives before the meter reaches to full). So instead of popping an Antidote and a Blood Vial after climbing the first ladder, he decided to screw around & he lost time in the speedrun after dying on the ladders.
So he died by poison as he was climbing the second ladder? That's a hell of a way to go out
