    I very much enjoy these longer form videos but not all of the time. Mix them in here and there and it’s perfect.
    One thing I like to do with my tools is magnetize the tips so that screws stay on without me having to constantly hold them in place.
    Happy to see an update on this one!

      Thanks for the feedback, Scott. I largely agree, a slow pace video is fine here and there. There will be more as I build the BRX02 up, but I'm thinking I'll fit them around my regular content as they're going to have a fairly narrow appeal!
      I magnetise some of my drivers too. Should get around to treating these ones!

    Greetings, Craig. I for one am really enjoying this longer format with all the detail and explanations and talking us through the build. It's entertaining, informative, and gives a really good overview of the kit, parts, instructions, and overall build. Slow, steady, and focused. Makes it engrossing and engaging, not boring at all, worth the time investment to see it through to the end. I actually seek out longer videos, so for me this is ideal.
    BUT... As someone else already mentioned, maybe not all the time. I think we all enjoy the action and thrill of the shorter adventure videos, rock problem tests, tire tests, and all the various fun and exciting things you bring to the video segment. That is, after all, what initially brought me here, your direct and to the point reviews and testing. Probably a lot of others, too. I certainly don't want those videos to stop showing up.
    All that being said, I for one have enjoyed every single one of the videos you've made, and have appreciated all the different approaches you've taken to keeping the channel lively and fresh. I've said it before, and I'll say it again here, this is by far the best channel on youtube and I am very grateful to have found your work. No other channel has the re-watch value that yours does. Keep up the great work, keep the videos coming.

      That's super appreciated, thank you for your thoughtful feedback and the encouragement! That's a boost for me, thank you!
      I have more variety coming and also more builds at this pace, so I guess I'll be delivering exactly what you're describing - which is just as well, because I need variety to keep things going from my end too. (We're something of a goal and novelty driven species, after all). Cheers :)

    I do like this kind of video when I have the time and when I'm looking for step-by-step builds. It can be very helpful. I wouldn't want it to replace your normal videos, but an occasional "hang out and build" video would be very welcome.

    This was the part of my TRX4 that I enjoyed so much. The same with Tamiya kits. It's all in the build.
    This was just about the perfect length of video for this kind of content, for me, anyway. Your build set up is very cool. Lighting, sound insulation, and everything to hand. Nice. 👍🏻
    I'm sure I commented on the first part of this, when you unboxed the kit, on what great quality it was.
    Ill certainly be watching the rest of the build. 👍🏻

    Great detail in this series. I'm a regular watcher of Crawler Canyon's long form videos and I like when yours are longer too. They don't all need to be long or short like other commenters have said. A mix of both is cool. You have a lot of experience to share, and I'm hear to listen if you feel like dropping knowledge bombs in your videos🙂

    30:23 I used to do 3d drawings and assembly instructions and since I drew everything in autocad in 3d, I could simply mirror the items and then they'd be drawn correctly in perspective. Things (supposedly) are so much easier to draw now in Fusion but I couldn't get my old head around it. I started using autocad in the 80's with version....wait for it....ONE lol......

    7:31 with my failing eye sight and clumsy fingers I like to use small needle nose, bent, pliers. I find it SO much easier....not only clumsy fingers and bad eye sight but when you get the caffiene jitters too lol......
    BTW: when sorting fasteners like that, I find a magnetic tray keeps them from re-grouping after you've sorted them. They just like to get all together if you don't keep an eye on them.
    "never tear us apart" (another Aussie reference for ya hahaha)
    When I built tamiya a kyosha kits I'd go to the dollar store and get a bunch of pill sorters. Then combine all the parts from the various bags into one tray then label the lid "bag a" etc. With those kits you're referring back to bag a like 20 times and then skip it all together for some steps.

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  Год назад +1

      Tweezers and small parts organiser containers are my go to for complex builds. Hasn't been necessary yet with the BRX02 as everything is pretty neatly bagged separately, but I definitely take that approach on complex builds, yes!
      I worked with tiny electromechanical parts and electronics for years in my lab here. Soldering under a microscope at times, even building my own replacement buses between damaged boards etc. Small parts organisation is something I've honed over a decade or two!

      @@elduderinolebowski5411 I've had to repurpose foam from the BRX01 and others in the past. Some kits come with gorgeous packaging. The Cross RC BC8 Flagship was another one like that.
      I really should feature that model actually, do a bit of a close look. It's very interesting.
      Oh and while I'm rambling, I'd love to see a truck body on a 6x6 or 8x8 BRX01 or BRX02, that would be incredible.
      That is all.

  • @muskokamike127
    @muskokamike127 Год назад +1

    The thing about long form videos: we can speed up, slow down, skip, fast forward if we want. If you edit out stuff yourself, you remove that option.
    Remember we have a choice at playing at full speed, 1/2 speed, 2x speed if we want.

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  Год назад +1

      Thanks Mike. I get that, but most people just skip longer videos. That tells youtube that the video isn't worth showing to others and you end up with a few hundred views rather than thousands. The next video you post is affected too. I'll have to keep such long form videos rare here for the reason, as the whole channel pays for the lower engagement for a while after one. There are more coming though, just gonna space them out a bit!

    • @muskokamike127
      @muskokamike127 Год назад +1

      @@RCTNT I didn't realize that. I know youtard is fubar and messes with newcomers but didn't know it was that bad. You can also break them up into part 1 2 3 of the same video (bet you already know that haha considering I only have 3 BS videos on my channel lol).

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  Год назад +1

      Thanks. Really its up to me to make it interesting at whatever length it needs to be. The aim is the shortest possible length that achieves the video goal. No extra fluff.
      I'm still experimenting, even after 155 video uploads, but I definitely use episodic parts in many videos. Gotta balance everything to find something that works across the demographic. It's a challenge but I'm learning a lot!

    I want this kit because it looks like it's one of the hardest and most parts to it?

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  Год назад +1

      It isn't a difficult build, Travis. I've made many kits and I'd say the most complex one was the Cross RC BC8, followed by the RC4WD Beast II. Both of these were significantly more work than the BRX01, and the BRX02 looks like it'll be a similar experience to the 01 so far.
      As far as quality is concerned, the BRX 4x4s are right up there with the best stuff I've ever built. The BC8 still stands alone as the toughest for driveline and chassis, but for fine quality and finish, the BRX01 and 02 are slightly ahead even of that.
      It's magical stuff, these kits. If you ever get the chance to build one, I do recommend it. They aren't cheap but they are something to experience, for sure.
