5:21 Really defines the shift in the Harry Potter series. There’s no fun and games anymore since Voldemort is back. This music is heart wrenching.

I think that GoF represented all of the aspects of HP. Romance, like in the Yule Ball. Adventure, like in the three tasks. Mystery, like what was Voldemort's plot for Harry. Tragedy, like Cedric's death. And all the other things, like friendship and humor, were all mixed in as well.
That's why I personally like this movie the best. It's a culmination of all that's great with the series.

  • @hollyfaye

I think this entire film is overlooked by most of us, because it's not specific to the horcruxes yet it doesn't quite build the Harry Potter world. It's in the middle. But the ending is so crucial to the plot of the seven books and eight films. It's a strangely relaxing, lovely film to watch, because it has thatr sense of home that's unlike the other films. That sense of belonging.

    • @AbruptCanine4

This movie is my favourite of the eight films while Half Blood Prince is my favourite book and it's for all the reasons you said and also because I always love bittersweet endings than full on happy endings, way more impactful plus more representative of life because in life there are no happy endings just bittersweet adventures, but that's okay and by the end despite all the loss and pain they will be okay because they have each other, god I love this film! 😍😍🥰💖

This is right on the money... this film, more than any other, looks at what it would be like to be a comfortable student, right in the middle of one's seven years at HW. Somehow, the film manages to do this with the threat of death all around and the first actual death of a student (barring the depicted death in the flashback to Riddle's victim in CoS) in the whole series, with the awkwardness of a early romance, and while the school has the unusual situation of two other schools' visitors. It's an underappreciated gem, and I hope the upcoming games will manage to capture that spirit somehow.

0:00 - 2:36 This is one of my favourites! I'm the only one who realized this particular track sounding in the ending credits it's not part of the soundtrack's commercial album and got sad? It's like a hair-raising version of this "Hogwart's Hymn", and in my opinion it's one of the best songs from the franchise, it gives a perfect ending to this part, it sounds like crying for de death of Cedric and the return of the Dark Lord with his menace. Patrick Doyle is a genius and he should have composed for the rest of the movies. Either him of John Williams.

    • @Qarth56
      @Qarth56 2 года назад +3

It is a real shame to see one of the most rousing tracks in the entire series only played in the end credits. Literally only really paid attention to it when I heard it while doing the studio tour and was wondering why on Earth I couldn't pinpoint such a memorable track to a specific scene. It's the perfect blend of the tragic and the triumphant and wouldn't have been out of place as the crowning track during the climax of the Deathly Hallows.

    1. John Willams
    2. Patrick Doyle
    3. Alexandre Desplat
    4. Nicholas Hopper
But they were all good in their different ways. Williams captured the 'magic' of Potter, whilst Hopper and Desplat had to capture the darkness of the Half Blood Prince and the Deathly Hallows. Doyle's music is very moving, as you can hear in the 'Death Of Cedric' piece.

    14 of October
    Age: 19
I survived an entire Summer of job, first romance, a lot of self-fighting and dealing with mental problems.. But i want to see this in the future when i will come across this video again and tell myself that i made it, i am powerful all over again and that i don't deserve to feel bad or angry or confused. That the right things will come into place and that life goes on no matter what. My-Future-Self, i hope you see this and remember that life is a book full of exciting new begginings and pages and that sometimes letting go is the best option and sometimes we shouldn't be hard on ourselves and let our good sides overcome our bad sides. My-Future-Self, please, never give up. Be by your own side when hard times come, don't ever think of giving up. Did you see how many surprises you had where you least expected them? Who told you that there is not going to be a continuation of it? Ofcourse there will. Parts of you might die, like a snake that is letting its old skin fall and then a new one will grow. It won't immediately but over time, your new self will bloom over again. Trust yourself. I don't know how you will be in a few years, i don't know if you will still be with him or if you will move on. But i hope you know that we were born to re-live, to start over, new people, new experiences. I know i haven't reached that part yet but, dear-future-self, i know you will. I hope one day,dear-future-self, you see this and be like... YES.. i've believed in you old-self. You are not immature, you are at the perfect stage who is still growing up and discovering herself. You still have time. You have beautiful memories to build. Just look forward and do not look behind at...all...
    Have a beautiful day!

I agree, out of all of the pieces from all of the scores, he had the most that I liked. It might not have been the best adaptation out of the series (but neither was the fourth installment), but the music was absolutely brilliant, and emotional. I mean come on, it had Dumbledore's Farewell song on there, as well as In Noctem. It had a much darker theme to it, and I liked it better than any others. Alexandre Desplat would probably be my second favorite. Patrick Doyle would probably be my least.

By that I mean that the music in the later films (with a few exceptions, like Lily's Theme, Dumbledore's Farewell, and the Battle of Hogwarts themes, just to name a handful) don't sound as good as the first 3 films' score to me for some reason.

The best movie imo was probably hpb. Gof is still amazing though, the cedric scene always makes me cry.

This brings tears to my eyes, remembering the happier moments of the trio's adventures and just generally missing the feeling of knowing that there would be another Potter film being released :\ JKR needs to do a sequel series with the new generation!

What song is being played in the beginning that sounds very similar to Hogwarts Hymn? I would really appreciate it if someone could please find that song.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who realizes that track is not "Hogwart's Hymn", but a different version. I love both but this one in the credits is stunning, it always gives me shivers, it cries of pain because of Cedric and the darkness surrounding his death. That track is not in the official album I got, I don't know why, but you still can hear it here: ruclips.net/video/EZzBZiQRZfs/видео.html

@Bradus101 Niclas Hooper's second (HBP) soundtrack was actually very well done. OOtP was just an epic fail that should have been done by Williams or Doyle, but HBP has a lot of great music.
