Love Melissa McCarthy! She was the real star of the Gilmore Girls. She kept that thing hilarious.... you could see her out shine the whole bunch. I am SO glad she is getting the attention she should be getting.
Growing up, I can remember watching Melissa McCarthy as the endearing, kooky chef on "Gilmore Girls." It blows one's mind to think she has to be the most successful cast member from "Gilmore Girls." After reading the memoir "Can You Ever Forgive Me," I watched the movie adaptation only three months ago in the theaters. Melissa was terrific as Lee Israel. Her performance was full of the occasional, comedic moments she is capable of but, at the same time, the dark, dramatic beats as well. I'm happy to see her life and career thriving with her clothing line, family, marriage, successful film and TV career, and her second Oscar nomination. It is nice to see that she likes books as much as I do. Make reading great again! Way to go, Melissa!
I loved Melissa McCarthy ever since I saw her movie Bridemaids at age 14 (2011) as my first ever Rated R movie! I loved her character and how it was potrayed throughout the entire movie. Now at age 21, my love as a fan for Melissa is stronger than ever. I hope one day she reaches out to me and asks me to be in one of her movies...
Yeah, and better-looking (in my opinion) than her first-cousin, Jenny McCarthy -- and obviously much more talented and appealing. There have been times where I couldn't stand Jenny McCarthy in her career (especially when she was younger... very hard to take).
Nathan I couldn't agree more. She's really blossomed since her weight loss, appearance-wise and career-wise. I'm happy to see her succeeding in her life and career.
@WillieIIIreborn Sorry man, believe it or not... People with weight problems, have a psychological issue. So your idea about what "the problem" even is, is wrong. In fact, we know for a fact that shaming them makes it worse, every. single. time. ESPECIALLY when they don't have the means or the time free. Melissa's actually isn't that though, she knows that she will start losing jobs if he doesn't at least stay *a little* fat. Its the truth. Go look up male actors who lost their weight, they no longer got jobs. Then they got fat again, and got parts.
What a light she shines on the life of a writer who has no safety net. "The editors of books, magazines and newspapers are men," from the movie "The Wife" shines a light on how difficult it is to be a woman writer in a man's world. No different from a woman artist in auction houses, and so many places of all the arts, including music.
I'm always a fan of Melissa's own Sheila Kelly and Sean Spicer. Who could ever forget the Summer of Diane, too? That Melissa can really make you laugh. Maybe not all the time, but still does her best. Keep up the good work!
I know, and it's unfortunate. Glenn Close is an acting treasure, but if the Academy was going to reward her with an Oscar it should have rightfully been done 30 years ago with her work in Fatal Attraction or Dangerous Liaisons -- or for both because she was THAT good in both that she could have totally been deserving of consecutive wins then. If the Academy would try to get it right more often, there wouldn't be the need for these consolation prizes down the rode for less deserving nominees, and other, better work losing.
I have just loved her since the minute I saw her on Mike and Molly. Her witt is razor sharp and she comes across as the truly gentlest soul. What a gift she us to all of us wish her continued success and she has given so much hope to so many of us...🤗😇💋🤗😇💋
Very good performance and portrayal of a hurt, intelligent person alone in NYC. Movies that can make a villain lovable and almost hero are worthy of praise. I loved the character that Ms. McCarthy played in this movie. In a little way, Lee Israel was like all of our darker, inward selves, just left out of the closet, strewn about the floor.
In my opinion, Melissa deserved even more recognition for her role as Sean Spicer than she received. I prefer it "hands down" over The DT impersonation by AB. Thank you Melissa for the great belly laughs and other emotions your work has inspired in us all.
I love that she was nominated for ‘bridesmaids’. ‘Can you ever forgive me?’ Is your typical oscar role (even though it’s a great film) but it’s nice when the academy stops being stuck up.
Melissa McCarthy - - SO MUCH LOVE TO YOU !!! THANK YOU IMMENSELY - - for your superb talent, of course - but made all the better by your beautiful personality as well ! ! !
Me too! *Audible.com* should give me a commission, as I have pointed many other audio book lovers in their direction. Been with them for 20 years or so and they've never run out of great literature for everyone's tastes.
D G That is a great comparison. I've only seen Marie in a couple movies - "Tillie's Punctured Romance" (1914) with a then-barely starting Charlie Chaplin and in the pre-code classic "Dinner at Eight." I need to go back and re-watch both movies at some point. I know that Marie Dressler won the Oscar for "Min and Bill." It's too bad she died not long after her Oscar win (1-2 years, I believe). 😞 Now that Melissa McCarthy is blossoming since her weight loss, appearance-wise and career-wise, I hope that we continue to have her and see her on the big and small screen for years to come.
I want to see MORE Mike and Molly! Wish Melissa and rest of actors would do several more years! That was her best I think. Everyday humor. We watch most nites the reruns. Mainly, the only humorous show on tv these days, you know. Humor is needed So badly these days! We thought the stretch of programs toward the end of the run had unnecessary vulgar tones that diminished the exceptional talent . It didn’t need that. It was extremely funny without! America needs to rise above that garbage. Still, please bring back mike and molly w less the crudeness.
Unfortunately, though she should win she wont because glen close is 71, has been nominated a grip and never won. So, before she dies they have to award her.
She would love hanging out with me a few days, I really do not give a darn what people think about me, I have no filter when talking anyone. I brought flowers to a lady I know is going through a divorce and has 4 kids for Valentines day that's way younger than me, just because I knew she was not going to be getting anything and just wanted her to to feel special. People on Facebook had a fit about it. If doing the right thing is wrong, I do not want to be right.
@J Wil Hitler wasn't alone in ruining life for a lot of people, either. A bit harsh, I know, but it's the principle that counts. If you're part of something bad, it doesn't make you look good.
I don't get her appeal in comedies, she was great in Gilmore Girls, but since then, her comedic roles make me cringe, they are always kinda similar, it's like being the female Chris Farley. Predictable.
Hence why you are 100% here commenting and complaining, ya BIG old huge FAN you, DUH! Awwwwwww nice try though sweetie pie, that was oh so cute and adorable! ; )
Robert Rodriguez ....interestingly, that made me love her more........Iaughed so hard every time she donned that suit.....😆😆😆😆😆😆donned....even writing about it is funny😁😁😁😁
To the contrary, I think Melissa was excellent on SNL and deserved her Emmy as Sean Spicer. Her performance as Sean had me in stitches especially her one episode where she was using the two Barbie dolls, one of them looking like Moana, to discuss immigration. Lol! Growing up, I can remember watching Melissa McCarthy as the endearing, kooky chef on "Gilmore Girls." It blows one's mind to think she has to be the most successful cast member from "Gilmore Girls." I need a real book also. I have a very small book of poetry that I bought many years ago from Goodwill. I probably paid a dollar for it. The pages are like silk. I have no idea what kind of paper it is but it just feels like silk to me.📒📔📚
I think Melissa McCarthy gave the best, most nuanced performance of all of the female Oscar contenders this year.
This nomination just shows she is no one trick pony. This performance is a hidden gem among glittery bling.
She's utterly charming, lovely, and beautiful.
Love Melissa McCarthy and wish her the best! She is one of the most talented and beautiful actors today.
Tamera Herrod if you've not seen the Nines, you've hit ti find it, she's wonderful.
I wouldn’t have believed it but she was so good in this film, so nuanced and moving.
Love Melissa McCarthy! She was the real star of the Gilmore Girls. She kept that thing hilarious.... you could see her out shine the whole bunch. I am SO glad she is getting the attention she should be getting.
Love you so much Melissa.....good luck on the Oscar..you deserve it.
She’s brilliant. I never miss an opportunity to watch her and she NEVER fails to inspire and entertain me - love her!
Yeah... I read real books too and a people watcher...❤️
She is at her best when she plays the smartest person in the room, whether it is a comedic or "serious" role.

I seen her first on the Gilmore Girls, I'm currently re watching the series on Netflix, she's a great actress, very versatile.
My favorite movie of 2018. Great actress!
Absolutely love this outstanding actress. Looking forward to seeing her next piece of work.
Don’t underestimate Ms. McCarthy, she deserves gold come Sunday.
I absolutely love this woman. She aces everything she does. Thank you for hours of enjoyment!
I always enjoy her.
What a witty wonderful movie. And I didn't realized she was the one who did that hilarious Spicer on SNL too! What a talent.
Melissa is so good looking

She is the best!
The race for Best Actress this year is SOOOOOO competitive and close!!! I wish Melissa all the best and hope she gets an Oscar 🥰🥰
I'm always a fan of Melissa's own Sheila Kelly and Sean Spicer. Who could ever forget the Summer of Diane, too? That Melissa can really make you laugh. Maybe not all the time, but still does her best. Keep up the good work!
I absolutely loved this movie and Melissa made me cry in the court scene. It is Oscar worthy, but I don't think it's in the stars for McCarthy to win
Susie Fairfield Ohhh i dare say ....yes she will ! 🌟 have a happy day 😁

i have to hold a real book. Thank you for even saying this.
The Lee Israel letters are an interesting collection, very interesting!
My favorite Actress in most of your Movies watching from New Zealand 💚
❤Great Show❤

The ending ruined her chances for a unanimous Oscar. I liked Jane Curtin for Best Supporting role.
A force of a woman who uses every aspect of herself to its fullest - most especially her fierce intellect.
In my opinion, Melissa deserved even more recognition for her role as Sean Spicer than she received. I prefer it "hands down" over The DT impersonation by AB. Thank you Melissa for the great belly laughs and other emotions your work has inspired in us all.
Sookie forever! 💕 ☕️ 💕
Rewatching the series on Netflix!! So good, love Sookie!!
I hope she gets the Oscar

She did a great job in this movie - enjoyed her and the film so much!!
Excellent and truly divine actress...real. 👍🏼
Come to my house - none of my lot have boundaries and are desperately funny with no idea at all
Loved this film. Melissa did her justice
I have eyesight problems so audible books are my favorite!
Me too! *Audible.com* should give me a commission, as I have pointed many other audio book lovers in their direction. Been with them for 20 years or so and they've never run out of great literature for everyone's tastes.
No one deserved the nom more than her, except maybe Toni Collette for “Hereditary”
Smart and beautiful
Love her!!!+
*Loved the movie. It didn't play in the movie theaters where I live so I got it on DVD. I've watched it 3 times already.*
Yes we love Melissa so BEAUTIFUL...
saw this last night, gotta say this has to be melissa mccarthys greatest performance, loved the film too
Looking so good! So talented!
She’s awesome...an absolute favorite.
Charming versatile. I wish her all the best.
Love Melissa!!!
She is so beautiful.
I love her. What a doll.
The Queen of Plainfield Illinois
Melissa is such talented actress, and a beautiful woman !
This was an awesome movie. I loved McCarthy and Grant in this.
Okay so she can't probably beat Glen Close but this performance is so Oscar-worthy. As is her co-star's.
Not a word about Gilmore Girls? That show pretty much put her on the map!!!!!!
I will always follow Jane because she is the queen of truth and reality..mahalo precious🤗🤩😘😎
Amazing actress!
Ela e uma benção de Deus 🙏🏻🕊️🕊️🙏
What a lovely skirt she's wearing.
Something about her brings Jack Wild to my mind.
Thank you Melissa l love books it's sad that young people only want audio books I do understand that people with visions problem but it's sad.
She should do more other genres other than comedy
She did St Vincent (2014) with Bill Murray which was great. She also did The Nines, with Ryan Reynolds and she did well there as well.
Delicious opportunity to put out there all the frustration in life :) in this role
So talented you deserved that Oscar boo I can’t lie I also wanted lady Gaga to win too
Tell mellisa that i like the 90's and my favorite movies from the 90's is can't hardly wait. And that has the song high from feeder.
Bravo, Melissa (add to her credit: she sang with Barbra.) I mean, come on!
If you need a smile think of sweet Melissa
She is like our era's Marie Dressler.. Hope her or Glenn Close win the oscar.. or Lady Gaga!

I loved Melissa McCarthy in Charlie's Angels 2000. I liked bubbly Doris.
She is good actrice
Since the fight is between Close and GAGA. Have fun. Shes so cute. To bad shes married
I want to see MORE Mike and Molly! Wish Melissa and rest of actors would do several more years! That was her best I think. Everyday humor. We watch most nites the reruns.

Good looks run in the McCarthy genes. She has the same bubbly personality as her cousin, Jenny McCarthy!
Pretty lady
cringeworthy? her characters are funny lol not cringey
Loved Melissa, not such a fan now though. She did that ridiculous stunt with Megan Markle awhile back. Why Melissa, why?!?
Boring interview... I would have liked more of Ms. McCarthy’s insight into a complex character... the backstory.
She looks so pretty these days...is it her make up, or it’s just because the funny characters she played that made me bypass....
Unfortunately, though she should win she wont because glen close is 71, has been nominated a grip and never won. So, before she dies they have to award her.
Glenn Close is a bore
@@Marcel_Audubon lol, you said it not me
Glenn should win!! Love her so much!!
Marcel Audubon glen is not a bore but the movie she’s nominated for is. Ironic it’s about a writer and it has TERRIBLE WRITING.
I don't remember tell me why are you watching ithe you want me to call you back home yet or are you going to still get a ride
I seen her in the kitchen super good I would love to see her in a horror movie
She would love hanging out with me a few days, I really do not give a darn what people think about me, I have no filter when talking anyone. Apartados de mi, hacedores de maldad
Sinister human this one.
I watched the wife and I love Glenn close but that movie was horrible. Lady gaga is whack
agree- the wife was awful. and mccarthy outperformed close in their respective nominated roles.
Gaga was fantastic! Get a life

CRINGE.
No, I can't forgive you, Melissa. And you know why. You shouldn't have starred in that damn ghost film.
