Thanks for sharing this thought! Myself approaching parenthood, this is something I think as parents we overlooked. I'm glad I'm hearing this from you now so I can prepare for the time they grow up.

I can relate to so much of what you discuss here. I'm turning 47 this year and have a soon-to-be high school senior, and I've had a lot of the same thoughts about fitting in versus being your true self and relating that to my own content creation journey (as well as parenting). Keep it up, Wayne!

I love the ethos you are putting out there. I'm almost 58, on YT since 2018. Never Monetized, likely won't be. And I'm still thinking of starting another channel to have that more core value approach, because I've had some incredible luck in life but handled it perhaps poorly, and there's something to see in that for my child someday, or for others who stumble across it. Anyway, I'm in and looking forward to your ongoing posts.

I am 54 and talk a lot about my mental health journey, at first it was tricky but now I am loving every second.

another excellent video and topic. the story of what age your kid was when your fatherhood dynamic changed, that hit hard, this the type of perspective that i appreciate in your videos. leading by example is key, and one of the main reasons i document my life and my homies for my channel. my kids are still little and i want to document what i am like right now, maybe later they can see me in this time, and for me because i might not remember what i was like haha this 1/3 year of your uploads has been inspiring already, amazing.

Wishing you all the best with this! I once did a 365-day photography project. It was a challenge but such a sense of accomplishment when I finished! I think you'll find the same at the end of your 366 days!😊

You should tell your kid about the videos I think! You don't need to blow up and "win" by someone else's standards. You're a very good speaker and storyteller.

This is a really good video, Dad’ing by example :) Been trying to trick my kid into starting a youtube-channel for years, since he’s a gamer and studying to create games as a job, but no luck so far - so I’ll just have to try get my own channel to grow and show him it’s possible - and if he want’s to do something else then that’s perfectly fine as well, at least he’ll have my videos to laugh at ;)

"i didnt listen to my parents as a teenager" yeah but you probably had basic respect for them and turned out better than the path your kid may be going down now. The view you have on parenting is naive. Maybe in an ideal world things would work like that but they don't in this one. Kids need dicipline, that's how they develop into strong moral adults. And by dicipline I don't mean spazzing out when they do something wrong or even hitting, at this point it's probably too late for that to work anyway if you were going to make that choice. I recommend watching supernanny for some ideas, particularly the episodes with older kids and teens
