    I love the discussion on the attributes of Christ. The insights are absolutely beautiful. Gosh, there were definitely points I could relate to. The journey of getting to know the Lord is and has been life changing, to say the least. I love what was said about pressing on as well as the entire discussion on light and love.
    He has shown and still shows the human family how to be and what we can be. Simply put, his life is the message.
    Thank you Bro Halveron and Bro Griffin, for light and learning. Thank you SC for all your amazing work ❤.

    I cherish the profound concept that Jesus serves as our advocate with the Father. It brings me immense comfort and reassurance, knowing that in all our imperfections and struggles, Jesus stands as our mediator, pleading for us before the Father. This beautiful role of advocacy underscores the depth of His love and commitment to our well-being, offering a source of solace and hope in our spiritual journey.

    Favorite quote from this episode:
    "[The apostles] were literal witnesses of Christ. A very important aspect of scripture study is to recognize that the point of scripture is not just to teach us that God and Jesus Christ simply exist. Now, knowing that is wonderful, and necessary to know, but that alone is not sufficient.
    As if God has nothing better to do than "exist?" That is not the end game here. The end purpose of scripture and prophetic witnesses is to not only bear witness of God's existence, but TO SHOW US GOD'S ATTRIBUTES. Why? Not so we can treat it like it's just diety in a museum, and we are passing thru admiring all of God's goodness, grandeur and glory. No, it's so we can BECOME MORE LIKE THEM."
    Thank you Brother Halverson!!!

    I love sister Nelson. Her BYU devotional on Change have me insight to her place as the wife of a prophet. Now tell me she sits at the feet of a prophet and increases her joy. President Nelson answers a question with a question. My favorite was his question to answer how to purity our entertainment. He answered that question with a question. Whose agenda?. Sister Nelson now grows, like she said of Dansel Nelson, President Nelson is the updated version of himself having lived with her. So now we get the greater version of Wendy Nelson for living with him, President Nelson. Love that companionship. She truly is an elect lady and contributes to our growth as the better version of herself

    I think it’s important to ALWAYS clarify that we are not expected to endure physical, emotional notional, or mental abuse continually. You don’t have to keep showing up to be hurt. You don’t have to sacrifice for people who are actively abusing you. You can love them in a spiritual sense, recognize they are the way they are due to their own struggles, not hate them…but it’s ok to separate yourself from them. Doctrines like this, stated without pointing out the exceptions, often lead to people perverting the doctrine and telling people to stay in dangerous situations for the sake of “loving” someone. You’re not wrong…but there’s a little bit of an aside that should be added.

    In fact, that is what the word God means. It is the title of all those who are the eternal heavenly Family of GOD. Family/love/light is the very reason the universe exists as it does.

    Powerful concepts today! Why go to Church?…Is it for me to “receive” the sacrament or “give” light & love? Based on your lesson today I understand better the purpose of Sacrament meeting is for the ordinance of the sacrament but MY purpose for attending is to “give” light & love to others while being rewarded with the possibility of renewing covenants. Thank you!

    Beautiful reminders of the love of Christ and the importance of oneness. Unfortunately, there are still NOW men who misused their "power" and "position" in the Church in Brisbane Australia for personal agrandisement or self appointed "punishment" for a perceived personal insult. 20 years ago, a Bishop, his counsellors, Stake High Counsellors and a Stake President DID shut the doors of the Chapel and conspired to confront and did physically ATTACK a young member to prevent him from entering the Chapel, falsely accused him of assulting them, called Police to have him arrested for assulting them, prevented him from going on a mission and used the Church Legal Team, money and resources from Melbourne to attempt to criminalise him AND the Area Presidency of Sydney supported the plan. That Court process went on for years at MY expense of many tens of thousands of dollars court costs and as a mother, I was a witness to all its on-going injustices, police harrassment directly and indirectly to our other family members- and yes- my ensuring mistrust of God and "apostacy" from the Church for some years.😢

    A disclaimer here: I married a narcissist. Never even knew there was such a thing. Narcissists look for “supply” or “resource”. It’s bondage. Serving them is what they are all about and it’s one-way. They might shape up when you are in despair, but it’s temporary. But I did gain knowledge, and decided it’s God that I serve.

    I’m a little bit puzzled because I know that when people fled from Constantinople with the original Greek, the old Greek Scriptures brought it to the Netherlands Erasmus of Rotterdam translated the old Greek to new Greek and then Martin Luther translated the new Greek to the German and wanted to enlist Erasmus of helping him more or less become the new pope, but Erasmus did not want to take up a battle with the Roman Catholic Church. Could there have been a reason because of Catholic influence even though he wasn’t really active in supporting that church that because of that theology he did not want to make enemies.

    I'm just starting the video, but a careful reading will show that every instance of God in this week's reading refers to God The Father and never to our Lord Jesus Christ. There are a few cases where it appears God is referring to Jesus, but in every case there is either a JST clarification or a quick reference to a literal Greek translation makes it clear. Jesus is the Christv our Heavenly Father is God

    • @JohnSmith-lm9gr
      @JohnSmith-lm9gr 11 месяцев назад

      Still watching, but a correction. John is saying the Heavenly Father is love and light and life. Not that Christ isn't, but Jesus is our father's love manifest in the flesh. As Jude says, God is our Savior and Redeemer through the atoneing blood of his son. Therefore to God be all glory, majesty, dominion, and authority now and though all the ages
