    I love this one guys. I wanted to share something that I received in a prompting when I was going to the temple one time. I would get so stressed with the drive and then the worries I had for others in my family. I was in the chapel and heard distinctly " Remember to rest in the Lord and bask is in His love". It was so beautiful to me. I was allowing all my worries to take over instead of truly letting go. Also that all of this is a gift from Him. That has been so big for me lately. And so beautiful. Thanks for your work on these lessons. I am grateful .🙏

      I love that. I've had the same impression (different wording) worrying over my children. It really is a blessing when those impressions come. I've learned to try and not "cap" or limit my faith but to (as Bro. Robinson would say) "Believe Jesus".

    Thank you, Bro Halverson and Bro Griffin for another amazing presentation. I love what was said about the Prophets. It's true, and it's such a beautiful message with a beautiful reminder. The Prophets were taught by the Saviour, their beautiful knowledge came from the Saviour. They don't take the place of the Savioir. I don't think they would want to either. Our Prophets are humble enough to know that the go-to for everyone is our beautiful Saviour. This part of the presentation stood out for me. That's my take on it. I always love the learning and beautiful insights from SC. Thank you ❤

    Like other comments, we have been blessed by your research, understandings and humble testimonies. Profoundly touched by the huge OT themes mentioned here again--hessed. How did we go this many years and study and never understand it? I remember our prophet pronounced a blessing on us that as we studied in Come Follow Me these years, we would be blessed with deep, new insights. So grateful for you inviting the Spirit to touch us and your gifts to help this happen. It has greatly changed our lives by deepening and broadening our testimonies. Thank you.

    Starting at 17:00, Benjamin Franklin once said, "That which hurts, instructs." I couldn't agree more. For forty years of my life I had an addiction to pornography which cost me three marriages and my Church membership. I am now back where I need to be and am free from my addiction thanks to my Savior. I have taken all of these unhappy experiences, that have humbled me, in their proper perspective and realized that they were for my good. I can now truly empathize with those who are trapped in the dark hole that I was in. (Later) I cannot recall which general authority was speaking but he was saying that if you are worried that you may become a son or daughter of perdition then you have nothing to fear. Apparently it takes a tremendous amount of concious effort to begin approaching that level of apostasy.

    It occurred to me one day, that way that Satan could have won this whole ordeal, was to not tempt Christ, or Pilate, or the Sanhedrin, or anyone around Christ. If Christ had not been tried or crucified, then it would have been all for nothing. That is how he could win with us also. That is why we should be grateful for our trials

    Taylor/Tyler, how would you reconcile the teaching that many say (citing Heb 1:2) that God no longer speaks to us by prophets... it's now only by His Son?

    • @scripturecentralofficial
      @scripturecentralofficial 11 месяцев назад +1

      That's a great question! Hebrews 1:2 states that "God... hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son." In Latter-day Saint theology, this verse is not seen as negating the role of modern prophets, but rather as affirming the primacy of Jesus Christ in God's plan.
      In fact, a key belief in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that "by his Son" includes revelations given by the power of the Holy Ghost to His apostles and prophets, who are authorized servants of Jesus Christ.
      The fact that "God... has spoken unto us by his Son," really points to the fact that Jesus Christ is the central figure in God's plan of salvation. His life, teachings, atonement, and resurrection are the keys to our understanding and receiving eternal life.
      Any teachings or revelations from modern times, including those from current prophets, are seen as supportive of, and in harmony with, the teachings of Jesus Christ.
      So, to summarize, Latter-day Saint belief doesn't see any conflict between Hebrews 1:2 and the concept of continuing revelation through modern prophets. Both are considered important components of God's pattern of communicating with His children, with the teachings of Jesus Christ holding the central position. 😊🙏

    :For their salvation is necessary and essential to our salvation, as Paul says concerning the fathers-that they without us cannot be made perfect-neither can we without our dead be made perfect." At the 31-minute mark you speak of the name Laman and a possible meaning of La aman or not believing. I am reminded of Jesus saying, "‘Eli, Eli Lama Sabachthani?’ Lama as why. Putting the N at the end could represent a final nun with the concept of 2nd nature. To continue to ask why. If one is "not believing" perhaps one is continuing to ask, "why" not trusting in God. Just my personal takeaway.

    It is almost like the people of Moses were slaves, degraded, abused, and mistreated that they allowed “ their suffering “ to affect their worth as children of God… no matter what He did to lift them! Perhaps it’s a lesson for us to realize how important our identity is… as a child of God, a child of the covenant and a disciple ! That our suffering is purposeful and not without worth!
