Not only was the creature design from Cloverfield so influential, but the creature's sound design has been copied endlessly. That deep bass, guttural sound was unique at the time
@MarvynSyn999 Orga more resembles the Rancor creature from Return of the Jedi and his sound is more of a high pitch screech. Orga is also bipedal, which makes sense since he is a product of Godzilla's DNA. There's some similarities, sure, but i wouldn't say Orga did it first. Sorry
I really wish Hollywood make a true sequel to Cloverfield. I wanna learn more about Tagruato, the monster and what happened to N.Y or any other city to that extent. Great vid!
Dude, I swear the topics you choose to cover are answers to questions that have lingered in the back of my mind for years 💯 You’re a master of your craft
The girls husband in Paradox was saying not to let her drop to earth because there was many "things" down on earth, so she was in her universe. I think it would make sense if (like the first paradoxes use of the accelerator moved the aliens over to Cloverfield lane) Maybe while the Cover 2008 was destroying the accelerator there, the Paradoxes second activation linked the accelerators and everything nearby the base (protags included) and threw Big clover into her universe just as she was entering atmo. Then Clover, the astronauts, and the people at the base in Clover 2008 would now be in the Paradoxes world for a sequel. The Clover Lane aliens will get their butts destroyed since the world they got tossed to will NOT be in an energy crisis and will fight back, unlike the weakened world they thought they were invading.
I don't know what frustrates me more.....Not getting a sequel to Prometheus and Covenant which ties everything together, od not getting a proper movie/"sequel", that ties all the Cloverfield movies/questions/answers all together!!! My sentences might not even make complete sense/be grammatically correct, but I think everyone understands enough of what I mean lol ty!!! Also I welcome any and all feedback Take care everyone
I think we could have gotten a true amercian kajiu alien invasion with colverfield and they blew it. there is a reason why the godzilla fandom wanted them to fight.
The ARG was so epic. Especially as I was a big Fringe fan back then at the same time and how it had hints dropped in it, epic just epic. Really all sci Fi tv genre was peak back then.

Funny that you mention Overlords since iirc, that one Not-See Zombie movie Overlord was originally another “Cloverfield” movie until they decided to make it a standalone So yeah, JJ Abrams was seemingly trying to add potential IPs to his own Cloverfield IP as a way to make easy money getting them greenlit 🤔
Based. I didn't like the third film in this “saga” either. I always saw the second one as some kind of experiment and the third one I thought it was a completely separate movie that shared the name by pure chance.... Until I saw the final scene. How disappointment. And honestly, I always saw the original movie as a lovecraftian movie and not an alien movie, but I could buy your theory. It just makes sense (WAY more sense than the connection with the third movie ¬¬).
Long comment incoming, from a huge fan of the first (and who didn't like the other two)... So, the people behind the first movie confirmed at the time (including in the DVD extras) that the monster was a baby who had been woken up by the satellite we see crashing into the sea at the end of the movie, and was terrified and rampaging through Manhattan while looking for its mother. They're not aliens, they're deep-sea creatures (the creature designers also worked with marine biologists to create a realistic monster who mostly lives in the deep ocean, but can also breathe on land - Hud's line about the Mariana Trench in the film hints at it). No aliens involved, just a satellite and the undersea drilling of the Slusho! company (there was even a prequel comic that showed another monster being awoken underwater near Japan, but then it had silliness involving a child being able to telepathically communicate with it). As far as 10 Cloverfield Lane... I liked it, but it had the ending changed, which is why I dislike it. Originally, it was a script about a delusional conspiracy theorist kidnapping two people, trapping them in his bunker and gaslighting them into believing the apocalypse was happening. In the original ending, MEW's character would escape the bunker, only to find the world is perfectly fine, and he lied. To try to sell it to the masses, the studio decided to add a pointless alien invasion ending to prove Goodman's character right so they could tie it to the popular box office success that was Cloverfield. Similar to how a generic action film about a hacking attempt by a terror group on the White House was reworked years after being written and left on a shelf to become Live Free Or Die Hard because again, they tied it to a popular franchise to make it sell more tickets. Cloverfield Paradox was a mess because it tried to do what a lot of fans have done (including in this video); Trying to tie the other movies together, but ending up with a convoluted mess that just further ruins the greatness of the original (which was never planned to have a sequel, btw). At least you tried with your ideas more than the Paradox writers did, Zaffy.
Here’s how you take your concept but drastically simplify it while making a far more compelling movie…. You don’t need 3 worlds. Just put 10 and Paradox in the same world at different points in their timeline, and allow the accelerators to transfer you either between universes or to a different time in your own universe. So the monster goes to 2008 and the overlords go to 10 (or paradox, doesn’t really matter when on the timeline they reply) but when the overlords get the signal leaking through paradox from 2008 they go to invade earth, BUT nuke eggs went to 2008 and didn’t destroy the world so humans in 10 can actually fight back against the overlords. Meanwhile the 2008 universe has captured the nuke alien, and learned how to control it. In their desperation to win against the overlords, the paradox world reaches out to 2008 for help in their fight. 2008 world has the only weapon that can defeat the overlords without destroying earth- a fully grown, humanity controlled Clover. Boom, two separate universes join together across space and time to defeat the overlords with their own biological super-weapon!
I like Paradox conceptually but in execution it’s not good. The only part I can confidently say I liked was the ending but that’s just because it’s done in a reversed sort of way. You have the “happy ending” only for the people waiting back at home to react in horror and anger telling them to go back. Then you get the big reveal of the return or discovery of this giant Eldritch monster. It could be any monster but because the Kaiju is so iconic it just hits that much harder. Doesn’t mean it’s a good ending but I think it’s cool.
This guy is weird ngl. He talked all this crap about nothing making sense not being connected and being stupid to literally come up with the stupidest nonsensical cliche plot
I 100% agree with you on this! 1st is goat! 10 lanes is good in its own way, Paradox just terrible fandom for the fans. After watching paradox for the first time. I was left angry, confused, didn’t know what I watched 😭. Movies like that really anger me! I demand justice to the OG timeline.
The frustrating thing with JJs mystery box is that he's half right, a mysterious premise in the film's marketing will engage audiences and get people to see the movie, where JJ goes wrong is that he never actually comes up with a solution to his own mystery. The mystery can work within the movie if you intend to make a sequel that eventually resolves it, but when you just throw questions round that never get answered and likely don't even have answers that isn't engaging, that is annoying.

Cloverfield Lane may have one of the best 3rd act plot twists in modern cinema. Literally had us on the ropes the entire film til we finally realize the invasion was real.

I like that the timelines are created instead of preexisting and mixed up together. Im thinking about how that light particle experiment behaved differently when observed.
Off topic but fortunately Alien: Earth is set in 2120 instead of before Prometheus even though the Xenomorphs did still exist before David made his own.
Thank you for commenting this! I hate when people say that David created the aliens first and totally forget about the original derelict ship with a literal engineer sitting in the pilot seat with a hole in his chest on LV 426 that has been there for thousands of years and they already had alien eggs on it.
@@ItsFreakinHarding. True, but the only thing that says it's been there for thousands of years as far as I'm aware is Xenopedia, but because the main themes of the Alien Prequels are Origin and Creation, I can definitely see why they might think so because I haven't heard the crashed ship being thousands of years old till you mentioned it and likely most people didn't think it was that old.
The only movie I have seen in the franchise is Cloverfield Lane, but I really enjoyed it. Cloverfield Lane not only had a good story, but it had great actors in it to make it more than just Cloverfield shovelware. Also great catch on people copying the design of cloverfield. I never saw the movie so I thought Godzilla (2014) was the first time I think I saw a creature like that.
Cloverfield Lane wasn't even tied to Cloverfield, originally. The originl script was the same until she left the bunker but to sell tickets, the studio added the alien invasion ending and the title because they worried people wouldn't see a film about a delusional conspiracy theorist trapping two strangers in his bunker and lying about an apocalypse happening outside.
Only watched the movies once except for the 2008 and the way you explain it makes perfect sense to me without watching the movies a lot of times. Lowkey was confused asf when i seen two different movies with the same title but one with aliens and a other in space 😂
Mostly because none are connected, other than the studio's desperate cash-grab mentality. Original was a success, so two random scripts were modified and given Cloverfield-related titles to get people to watch them. Die Hard 4 was also a generic techno-thriller, until the studio added John McClane in the cynical attempt to make money off it. The monster in the first film came from deep in the Atlantic ocean after the satellite woke it up. The writer/director confirmed it's a scared baby looking for its mother, because they liked the idea that the size of it terrified people already but with the knowledge it's not even a fully-grown adult.
America lacks its own Kaiju and they are not powerful enough bc the majority if not all of them are horror oriented. I still have Cloverfield 10 lane , Cloverfield . I don't have Cloverfield paradox and if another movie comes out give it powers.
My ONLY problem with your theory about the sequel is that when the main character from Paradox come back after ativating the acellarator the second time, she calls her husband and he tells her not to come back to Earth because the monster is lose on their earth, so it's not possible that she went to the 2008 Cloverfield, but, maybe when she activated the acellarator for the second time, the aliens from the cloverfield lane universe did aswell, and send the monster from 2008 cloverfield, now fully grown, to the universe of paradox, that's why there's a monster there when she came back to earth, also, there's actually 4 universes, 2008 Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Paradox and a paralel to paradox, where the main character goes to, where the astronauts failed their mission and the satalite fell to earth, so maybe in this second universe on paradox, none of this ever happened, but since the mais character activate it on that universe, then maybe the aliens went to that universe, and that universe is actually the past of 10 cloverfield lane, and since the mission failed, the russians started to work on their own acellarator in secret. This shit is crazy
Exactly Entertainment is for your perception and enjoyment. What guilty pleasure you have as long as it's not abusive or unbecoming is your preference and good for you.
The Cloverfield monster was confirmed by the lore to be a baby. The little things that run around killing folk were parasites. I consider the other 2 movies to be non-canon movies with Easter egg references to Cloverfield.
Cloverfield was great if you don't mind the dumb crew of the film (both the fictional crew and the irl one). 10 Cloverfield Lane is God tier. It's disappointing to say the least that Cloverfield Paradox ruined things. Also, notice how 10 Cloverfield Lane would've been a great film even without Cloverfield connections while Cloverfield Paradox is ok without them but wouldn't have been watched nearly as much and ends up ruining both them and itself? This is why adding brand recognition as a virtue signal is a bad idea. If the film would genuinely be successful without it then it might help the franchise but is a gamble, if not it can genuinely kill the franchise.
10 Cloverfield Land was good, until she left the bunker. The alien invasion ending and the title were added to try and sell tickets by associating it with Cloverfield (which was a deep-sea creature, not an alien).
@sgtraytango kaiju no matter what source are all aliens to earth in some way. Whether creations from a God of the sea designed to smite those who oppose the mad God while he sits on his heavenly throne which towers in mountains far taller than what was considered earth. To the old ones, interdimensional deities in their own rights beyond mortal comprehension, to Godzilla a creature once thougnt to be a concept made flesh by mankind's desire to destroy itself, who is now known to be brethern to draconian overlords from across the universe. Kaiju are pretty much never from earth. So the idea Cloverfield, which took heavy inspiration from Godzilla and HP Lovecraft, beings that originally were concepts given flesh and only made less alien as their lore progressed. To imply Cloverfield was never intended to be an alien is silly. But I agree the ending didn't feel like it followed the rest of the movie.
So I may have missed this, but if I am correct we are juggling three worlds in this theory? The issue here is that there are four worlds. In Clover field paradox they get sent to an alternate reality and are trying to find their way back. Well in the other two they are only in a singular reality, so unless in Paradox they get sent to one of the realities in the other two movies there are four different realities in play here.
yeah it reminds me I was also intriguing digging about Clover monster, where it came from and why, then so many spin-off material that not integrate at all, I lost my interest because the JJ himself doesn't care.
Oh boy! Their head would explode if they saw where the Spiderman movies were going, plus all the other multiversal stuff Marvel has brewing. It just opens up for more ideas with more characters is all, idk how people can be so heated when some franchises do multiverse stuff then be OKAY when others try to do the same. I wonder if they know the HALLOWEEN franchise was supposed to go that route where Michael Meyers was supposed to be just part of a shared universe with a bunch of other supernatural beings. I wonder if they know that technically Evil Dead, Friday The 13th, and Nightmare On Elm Street are in the same universe.
I still think it's crazy that Avengers Endgame basically stole the idea Zack Snyder was going for in Batman V Superman (having The Flash go back in time using his powers to warn the Justice League about Lois being killed and Superman becoming a Darkseid general, with half the League murdered, as we saw in his Justice League epilogue) and no one said anything. But then DC films start more openly talking about their own multiverse, and people go insane calling them a ripoff. Still wish we could have Justice League parts 2 and 3, and The Riddler solving the Anti-Life Equation before killing himself, the Green Lantern Corps joining Batman, Mera, Flash, Cyborg and Deathstroke in the fight against Darkseid's forces, and then an epic battle in the third between Darksed and Superman on Apokolips. Also pissed the studio behind Dredd saw the poor US box office numbers (even though it did amazing elsewhere) and pulled the plug on the planned trilogy that would've adapted the "America" storyline (where Judge Dredd realises how fascist the Judge System is, and changes it from the inside), with the third featuring the Dark Judges as the villains.
How about the idea that the Cloverfield aliens were created by David from the Alien franchise, using the black goo, in his attempt to recolonise Earth. Then the only way to stop these aliens is by creating a Terminator army which preludes the Skynet destruction of Earth.
"Clover" DID NOT pave the way for Knuckle-walking Kaiju. Orga came first. By roughly 8 or 9 years. Sorry. From Godzilla. As soon as I first saw Clover I said: "Ah...Godzilla Millennium".
There is more to Clover's design that has been copied than the walk. Orga walked upright and nothing like the creature in Cloverfield. The similarities are the long arms and hand design. King Kong would actually be the first Kaiju to be "knuckle walking".
If it helps, the creature designers of the Cloverfield monster worked with marine biologists to create a realistic monster that mostly lived deep in the ocean, but could also move on land to be able to rampage through Manhattan (while looking for its mother, the creature's a terrified baby version of the beasts, according to the writer of the original film). That's why it has the oxygen sacs on its head, the feeding tubes for bottom-feeding and the super-long front arms. The dog-sized ticks were added because they felt they needed something for the human characters to interact with, while keeping the monster itself hidden from sight until that final shot in the helicopter.
That's how he lost his leg. It turned gammy and waxy before falling off in the shower. It's known he shouted "shit!" when it happened, before crying like a girl while laying next to his once-leg and pointing at it as if it shouldn't be like that.
I would like if all three worlds were working on their own partial accelerator and it displaced everything like continents, people, landmarks, suns and moons, to different universes and seeing different Kaiju. Like imagine California just disappear and in it's place you have this gigantic mountain that's actually a hive of a different alien species and starts spreading OR a whole section of an ocean disappears and makes the water levels decrease and in it's place is a civilization maybe from a past or future of humans drowning or trying to escape.
Okay this might be the biggest hear me out as what if multiple timelines had the space station and in paradox the escape pod got swallowed but in the 2008 movie there was another space station from another timeline sent down the same escape pod and in the second movie we might see how the space station made in the 2008 gets intel from the escape pod we see in the first movie that fell in the first movie cus instead of the egg it was one of the escape pods from the same space station we saw in paradox but just from another universe
Lets be honest, the original trilogy and the prequels sucked, too (Episode 3 was good but I grew up with them all, saw the prequels at the cinema, then saw all 7 of the main films in a week before film 8 released and.... They weren't good).
3:46 I like big mech suits and stuff inspired by tokusatsu which is essentially just man in rubber suit and lots of miniatures it's the original Godzilla's power rangers Ultraman stuff like that and the stuff that was inspired by those like Pacific rim the first one the second one was garbage
Dude, you need a major movie studio occupation ! You have good ideas that should probably be blueprinted, financed & realized in this reality ! I like all of the movies to different degrees, but they weren't meant to connect fluidly. The fact that they were all tagged CLOVERFIELD was just wrong. I'm not saying I need all answers to all stories all the time, but MAKE IT MAKE SENSE ! Your rendition could do that. I guess you're going to have to hit the POWERBALL jackpot, start your own movie studio & set things right with your own storylines. That, or, create a particle accelerator that alters our reality to something that makes sense. Probably best to go with Plan A. Trying to control Time, Reality or people, places & things beyond our reach & understanding, is usually a F'ed up idea. Not recommended. Good luck in your corrective idea endeavors.
They were three separate movies, slapped with the Cloverfield tag for marketing reasons. The first was a success, so they took scripts and added aliens to one and the Cloverfield monster to the other to try and tie them into it, despite none of them connecting at all. It's like adding a surfboard to John Wick and claiming he's the older version of the FBI agent from Point Break.
I love this guy’s approach. His viewpoints, demeanour, delivery, manner, editing. Hilarious and edifying. The outfit is fun, too.

Who let this dude cook? AND WHY IS HE ACTUALLY COOKING STRAIGHT FIRE!? 🗣️🔥
You’re a visionary Zaffy
I love this movie so much that i still have old stuff from the arg 😂. Cloverfield monster was unique
Thank you for your work
Love your enthusiasm!
Pretty sure it was answered that the clover field monster at the end of paradox is the mother and the one form the 1st movie is the baby
America lacks its own Kaiju and they are not powerful enough bc the majority if not all of them are horror oriented.
I still have Cloverfield 10 lane , Cloverfield .
I don't have Cloverfield paradox and if another movie comes out give it powers.
It's like the Wish master films the first two are great but i won't bother watching the others.
Very good idea for this franchise
3:50 BIG facts
Exactly
Entertainment is for your perception and enjoyment.
I hope this guy doesn't like James Gunn because this is literally his mo. The dcu is literally this
James Gunn is awful as a writer and director.
Wow, this was incredible. Never knew someone could take this jumbled mess and ironically make it worse.
3:50 I agree HEAVILY
8:39 YES! That’s what I’ve been thinking, sharing the same brain waves fr
Batman told me to tell you that you still owe him 20 bucks.
Also...good video.
Someone email this RUclips video to paramount pictures, bad robot and JJ Abram’s asap
The cinema vigilante strikes again... Weird as fuck cause we was just talking about cloverfield and look who pops up with that stamp of approval baby👌
yeah it reminds me I was also intriguing digging about Clover monster, where it came from and why, then so many spin-off material that not integrate at all, I lost my interest because the JJ himself doesn't care.
Abrams writes stores like a grade schooler. He has cool ideas at times, but he has no ability to follow through on any of them.
How about the idea that the Cloverfield aliens were created by David from the Alien franchise, using the black goo, in his attempt to recolonise Earth. Then the only way to stop these aliens is by creating a Terminator army which preludes the Skynet destruction of Earth.

Dude with a Deathstroke mask😂😂😂
Why is Mr. Garrison wearing a Deathstroke mask? Kay
I really like this idea, and I bet the sequel will have a terrible link if any to the other movies
JJ is person who f**d up star wars remember that whole reverting audience expectations it wasn't ryan Johnson alone abrams did it too
subverting......
Lets be honest, the original trilogy and the prequels sucked, too (Episode 3 was good but I grew up with them all, saw the prequels at the cinema, then saw all 7 of the main films in a week before film 8 released and.... They weren't good).
Yup 👍🏼 definitely your idea makes way more sense than that garbage Paradox so called movie 👎🏼🍿
I watched paradox when i was in covid lock down. It didnt make me feel any better.
Moo Deng's final form.
The shaky cam made it unwatchable for me.
"Cloverfield 2 - the paradox, paradox"
Yeah, except the characters in 2008's "CLOVERFIELD" aren't dumb.
I don't think we need to connect Paradox. Just pretend it never happened.
Bro do the movie attack the block
What is clover field😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
11 minutes in and he hasn't said anything but "stay with me" and "this shit"
3:46 I like big mech suits and stuff inspired by tokusatsu which is essentially just man in rubber suit and lots of miniatures it's the original Godzilla's power rangers Ultraman stuff like that and the stuff that was inspired by those like Pacific rim the first one the second one was garbage
Cloverfield should have been an antology
It’s SPLOOSH!!!
I really thought i was the only person that felt the same way! Spot on with this video 🎉
So more multiverse bullshit? Pass
These designs were copied from Hieronymus Bosch paintings.
