    I ordered one. Like I said in my other comment...I think these pizza ovens are a little gimmicky since you can make pizza on any grill. The portability sold me! Looking forward to using this at friend's house, the beach, etc. Thanks Tom! I wish I could have 1/20th of the grill you have!

    Try this, get your stone very hot, remove the fire tray, Then put your pizza in and let the stone do the cooking, you can finish it off by re inserting the fire tray to give a quick hit on the top. That's why your pizza was soggy in the middle but your crust was done. And light on the sauce!!

    Vevor also sells the cheapest seasoned steel plate (to cook pizza on a home oven) you're gonna find on the internet, especially when it's on sale. It's a 20"x14"x0.4" steel plate for $65.
    I'd prefer it be at least 16"x16". But you can easily find another steel or aluminum plate at 3/8" thickness with whatever dimensions you need beyond the 14" for an extra $20-30. I bought a 2"x16"x3/8" for $22.

    That’s a great looking pizza Tom! Pretty nifty set up on that portable pizza oven. I wonder how those pecan pellets would work? Just got mine delivered a couple days ago. Thanks for sharing buddy!

    I will recommend to bake the crust a little first before you add your toppings, because the firewood oven cook faster

    Thanks for the video! How do you think this compares to the other pizza ovens you've featured? I like the portability of this one. I've sort of thought of these pizza ovens as gimmicky since I can make a pizza on my grill, but this looks like I could take ti to the beach or wherever easily.

      Thanks for Watching Mike! Wasn’t going to do anymore of these video, but this one was intriguing, very portable, not crazy hot and as you can see worked well on the very first pizza

      @@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Thanks for the reply. I think there is an overemphasis on Neapolitan style pizzas which require that hot temperature. I think for regular pizzas 500° is great. Most US ovens only get to 500.

      Another great looking Pizza, Tom. The portability of this one is great! By the way, where did the stainless table come from?

    Have you tried it with wood chunks? Wondering if that would get it hotter.

    As mentioned on another creators site, I bought this one. I cannot get the stone to a very high temp. The highest I got was 525* after 30min of preheat and that is with flames shooting out the chimney!
    I even cut a 3/8" cold rolled steel slab, polished it and seasoned it for 3 hours at 800* in a propane grill. I can get the metal slab to 585* but impossible to get it to 800* - 1000*
    After much research, I believe the problem is the burn box. It is too small! It does not hold enough material.
    Any input, ideas or tricks would be fantastic!

    I got mine through Aliexpress - under £100 delivered to the UK (but the price has now gone up and they now say they can't deliver to my address - not that I want to order another, but strange??) Mine is all stainless steel and has four feet. I'm not getting the flames licking right to the front like this though, I wonder if those bricketts make the difference?? I am using 5* pellets from Amazon, but it's hard to keep the temp up as when you add pellets so the flame dies till they catch. Also folks - don't forget to clean the soot off the roof as it can build up and I had a big chunk of soot fall onto my pizza!

    500 is NOT good at all, depending on the style of pizza you want a range from 600-900F. The site says "reach 1000℉ in just 20 minutes and bake a 12-inch pizza in only 90 seconds" Could you comment on that please?

    • @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ
      @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching! My first pizzas were at the higher heat range, couldn’t turn them fast enough to stop them from burning. Heat on any of these “Onni” like pizza oven all are inconsistent on temps hotter in the back, cooler in the front. The ones with rotating stone seem to work better. My advice is still to stay around that 500 range gives the novice like me more time to turn it and have a better chance of a good outcome
