Wow, so cool to see this thanks ! Back in the stone ages we used to duct tape video cameras to our street bikes and run Deals Gap just so we could prove there is not 318 curves haha no really that is the truth and we found it out by exactly doing that. Back then when Pete run the Dragon's Den. My brother and I would meet there every year way before it became popular from the Internet, around the mid 90's. To see this now is amazing what we wanted to be able to do is now real. Our team took 2nd place in Canton Alabama at the first ever 24 enduro race East of the Mississippi, if I had that helmet cam back then. 24 hrs, 6 man teams, I came in on my first night lap and they told me I turned the fasted lap to keep going lol, yeah not sure if that was true or those old guys were to tired to keep up the pace at night time. That was a special weekend. You could not rest between positions b/c all your mind was doing was counting trees lol. We even had a camper but I never fell asleep, 24hrs, 6 man team still means each rider is going 4 hrs. Now back to desk-top racing. Luv his line changes, total pro.
thats mad its like a video game i would love to have this much talent on a bike but i am not sure my head could keep up with this speed relentless great riding
If you've never ridden with one of these guys who race GNCC before, guys who are this fast, then you shouldn't comment saying "its sped up" i know from experience these guys are hauling ASSS... But its funny that people think its sped up. Shows you how fast they're going. Ride with these guys and you'll see its not sped up... this takes balls of steel!!!
He's no doubt going fast (and so is everyone else) but he's got his camera on the ultra wide angle setting, making things look much faster than they are.
Jonathan Poynter That's accurate, however, you gotta remember that the shear amount of riders in a GNCC would make it horrible in a complete tight single-track type environment you find in local/regional harescramble races. You'd have a bottlenecks 400 meters long and in multiple places.
Ha, some people think this is sped up... The pace in gncc is just that fast anymore, the sport has truly evolved a lot in the past 10 plus years, far from the days when former top pro moto guys could come over and win. Getting lapped by these guys is downright scary, remember unadilla last year when they were lapping me from the B row by the second lap. Off road racing just doesn't get the respect it deserves in comparison to moto and supercross. Lots of these guys could race nationals and do ok.
We definitely didn't speed up the footage, it's straight from his GoPro. Listen to the sound, if the footage was sped up the bikes wouldn't sound right.
Josh is so fast and so smooth!! If ONLY He had a decent camera..like a Garmin!! Which has 3 times the clarity as any Go Prp! What???? Ya they cost twice as much but ya get what you pay for...
Love it how you are always looking for different lines, even if they don't always pay off! You can't overtake someone if you are riding their line. Good advice for wannabe racers!
Its not sped up. But the video settings make it seem faster than what it really is. Because when I have my bike 5th gear wide open it doesn't even come close to how fast the slow sections in this video look. If u don't believe me look at Robby Bells Baja videos he's going around 100mph, you can tell he's going really fast but it doesn't look fast like this. He makes his own videos. I wanna know the secrete there has to be one. Digitaloffroad.com countrymankdx200 Mason Nagle cmv1810
The new GoPro 3+ has the SuperView wide angle lens. The wider the peripheral view, the faster the footage seems. You wanna see those trees right as they go past you. Footage from narrower lenses always appear underwhelming - even last year's vids from Kailub Russell don't seem as fast. This is probably more accurate to what the human eye sees, although there is still some fish eye distortion near the side of the frame. Still, the new cameras are pretty amazing - the quality they can capture for how inexpensive they are. The lower the camera is mounted the faster the footage seems too - even mounting on the chest appears faster than the head. Always shoot at 24/25 fps as well.
riderthreefifteen cool thanks! Iv been trying to figure it out for years.. Cuz im not saying im fast but i can be wide open 5th gear and it looks slower then when hes like in 3rd in the woods. Ill try different settings.
Tyler Yokum has nothing to do with the camera... These guys are HAULING ASS dude literally...!!! wish you could race this Guy & you'll be like "damn, i guess it wasnt the Gopro afterall"
TrollMaster300 cmv1810 you guys are typical internet douche bags. I was clearly not talking down on the rider or saying how fast I am. I was only asking a question about go pro settings. I'm obviously not on here trying to call anyone out and talk shit on anybody just asking a question about a camera. Don't try to talk to me like i'm a squid and don't know about riding a dirt bike. You don't know me and havn't seen me ride. So don't try to call me out.
Sitting in the office and I just ducked a tree limb...
awesome. this video does no justice to how beat that track was. great ride!
yea the gopro doesn't show the half of it lol

Awesome video. That's fast!
more of these please
thats mad its like a video game i would love to have this much talent on a bike but i am not sure my head could keep up with this speed relentless great riding
Uhh... How do you guys know where to go? This is nuts in the best way possible.

I tried to pretend that I was the rider, and pick my own lines. Crashed into trees like 50 times...
He's no doubt going fast (and so is everyone else) but he's got his camera on the ultra wide angle setting, making things look much faster than they are.
This is nothing as intense as the mwxc or ixcr races we have in indiana

Common guys.. The footage is not sped up at all. If any of you have been in a harescramble you know the pro's are really going this fast.
Exactly what I've been saying. Maybe if they get their asses up off of RUclips then they'd see it in person & understand how fast these guys are
anybody know what class this guy is in?
Probably double a
First line so he’s a pro
XC-1 Pro
Yes XC1 Pro. Fastest in the world, or at least the U.S. He's from Australia, I believe, racing over here so he can go up against the best.
OMG!!!!!! this guys can ride

EXACTLY Ricky Deitrich an amazing offroad racer, did a year of the Pro Motocross Nationals and got 3rd in a moto
This is scarier, those trees are killer
100% agree and I guarantee these riders are in better shape to handle 3+ hours of this and running heart rates over 200 for the race is insane
Why did they speed up the footage
They haven't speed it up.
We definitely didn't speed up the footage, it's straight from his GoPro. Listen to the sound, if the footage was sped up the bikes wouldn't sound right.
Digitaloffroad.com Exactly!
Digitaloffroad.com I see now I just didn't realize how fast them guys where moving in the woods
That is sick
Josh is so fast and so smooth!! If ONLY He had a decent camera..like a Garmin!! Which has 3 times the clarity as any Go Prp! What???? Ya they cost twice as much but ya get what you pay for...
this guy's strategy is literally point it and pin it
Love it how you are always looking for different lines, even if they don't always pay off! You can't overtake someone if you are riding their line. Good advice for wannabe racers!
fisheye makes it look like its goin faster
Oh yeah! They're sooo slow! Whatever!
Wtf???
Is this on ffw mode???
No
Nope theyre are hauling ass & I've tried to keep up with guys like him on trails like this... I got fucking left... This is Badass :D

Your 5th gear wide open is not the same definition as theirs, I promise.

stamina is superb.
This video is absolute insanity...
Seriously this is fucking sick i cant watch ittt he's so closee that damn trees holy fuck
this is a very dangerous race
I don't get paid to race. I'll take mud over dust ANY day. :)
This is insane...
Those guys are really fast.. that dust is killer.
Moon Beamer sometimes I felt like he was pinning it wide open because he couldn't see... LOL
Nuts
Good lawd, that dust was killer...but this multi-lane / single track through the trees is intense!!
Lol ,im a racer too,i was just kidding...
Holy suicide ride! .... So fast
