Very eloquent young man. His parents have raised him well. Salute him for his courage to come forth and put himself through the media spotlight grueling through his past. All the best Schooling, you've defintely done Singapore proud and I'm sure you will have a bright future ahead.
With so many support from the sport community, government, sponsors .....he screw up himself big time by taking drugs and escape prison too. So what bright future does he have?

Your parents must be very proud of you. You achieved the impossible and then went through challenges but came out through it, positive, humbled and strong. You are an inspiration! All the best!
He is living a normal life all along, he training for swimming, everyone got their own subject/expertise to train. Its only himself thinking he never live a normal life
I guess the normal life might be to be away from the limelight of media. I guess to have every aspect of your life being zoomed in has it own set of stress
Sorry, but I often have trouble understanding Mr. Schooling. He has a unique way of talking and likes to cover different angles, which makes it tough to get what he really means. Maybe it’s just me, though.
The timing is off... As a swimmer myself, you would not retire a couple of months out from the Olympics, unless the reality of an injury has sunk in. Think... Jabs...
Young man just get on with your life. What's wrong with that. No need to announce nor popularise it publicly. Just move on lah. No need to explain. What inspiration you talking about. You are still a young man, life goes on with many more challenges to come. Talking like you knew life ha ha. 😂 Anyway, all the best.
ya lah.. kena caught... sure sianz lah... especially when he can compare/experience the lifestyle of western swimmers.. only sg frogs will snigger at anything outside the sg boundaries... HE HAS SEEN THE WORLD... HE KNOWS WHATS BEYOND THE SG FROG WELL...
Just can see the way he answered all questions in a sad manner hidden inside him ..all sportsmen that came to this stage are full of passion for their rolls and wont give up passion n ambition so easily....must have a very deep reason for him to retire at this moment unless hes sick or having health problem ...for gov support..whole world know our sportsmen eat themselves.....hahaha what a waste
Perhaps SNOC could have done more to help him develop further. Maybe they’d already done the necessary. I don’t know. Or if the SNOC’s president or former president could clarify, especially the SNOC’s former president, then we would know what his real “priorities” are...
Joseph, go and do what you do best and love most: swimming coach. Let me break down for you: using your Olympic champ medal, charge each student $120/ hr. Take only five students for each session. That will be $600/ hr. Each session run it for a span of two hours, and that will be $1200 for five students, in one session. Work only three days a week, and on each day, carry out two sessions - one in the morning, and one in the afternoon. That will be $2400 IN A DAY, for a total of 4 hours; three days out, you will earn $7200 PER WEEK. Now in a month, that will bring you $7200 x 4 = $28,800. On the condition of working a total of 12 days or 48 hours a month. Now take the money and go enjoy your life. We won't forget that it was you and your family who forked out your own money in sending you to the US for training. You deserve nothing but blessings from us Singaporeans, and the best your life can give you. 👍
@@LordBagdanoff That's what your shallow mind is telling you. Am I talking about 'money'?? I am talking about 'living his life out'.
