But in Higurashi Kai, she actually gets killed because of it. Takano was on a killing spree and after getting to Satoko, she asks her "which is green, brocolli or cauliflower?" Satoko hesitates and almost says cauliflower, but chooses broccoli. Takano kills her anyway. Here at 1:16, Keichii says "now you'll know the difference between brocolli and cauliflower." They did talk. Satoko's first loop she tries explaining her feelings to Rika but Rika still pressures her into St. Lucia than breaks her promise to Satoko. After that Featherine got to guide the next 100 years of Satoko's existence and we all know that witch's priority is to make Satoko into an entertaining piece. No way Featherine would risk wasting all that time by leaving Satoko in a talkative state.
Takano. Satoko tampered with her combination lock and looped several times just to get the combination right and steal the drugs, parasites and probably the gun as well .
Sadly, they don't want us to see her as such(in the final episode of Sotsu anyway) but there is no better explanation for all this mess and her regretting even a bit of what she did was shown for mere minutes, no elaboration, no proper express of remorse, just a "I guess I was wrong" line.

What I think is happening here is Satoko realizing she made a mistake, and killing Rika so she that the timeline resets, but she doesn't realize that Rika has memory of who killed her now.
I think she still could lie by saying "I feel like I've been seeing this before but...." So Rika would assume she only vaguely bring memories from past world rather than assuming she's looping.
Tell me, after watching Sotsu where she spends several fragments leading people to death and sometimes herself murdering people, is it wrong for me to see this video and Satoko's smiles as genuine, healthy happiness instead of mere deception? Which of course may not make sense unless at this point, she didn't have a care in the world for what happened in all those previous fragments.

I personally think that we were mislead from the beginning and takano wasn't the actual mastermind. plus there were no chapters from satoko's point of view which is indeed strange. also satoko was the one who didn't want rika to leave hinamizawa, and it is mentioned that rika was in lambda's 'time trap'. and lambda is the witch of certainty that somehow represents that satoko didn't want rika to leave. so yeah, that's what I believe

The easter eggs are ok but making me watch a whole different anime to understand a new one is like Meh. takano is lambdadelta's piece, not literally lambdadelta. that "god" that takano challenged as a child is implied to be lambda, and lambda's influence on her makes use of her power of accomplishing things with absolute certainty. it's fully possible in the meta world that lambdadelta has abandoned takano as a piece and is now influencing satoko instead, considering that takano is no longer able to complete her hinamizawa disaster plan with complete certainty like before. i recommend reading umineko if this doesn't make sense to you. i can't stress enough that takano was not just lambdadelta disguising her form but a chesspiece she was moving on a gameboard.
