I ordered a set of polypropylene dividers that create four separate "bays" in each box. The split tailgate is also a great idea. I didn't think I would use it much, but I open the split ten times more than the whole gate. Tomorrow, I'm swapping the Eagle Touring tires for a set of Nitto Ridge Grapplers (305/45/R22). These new rams ride fuckin amazing. The interior is insane! Knocks ford and chevy’s interior right out of the park. I love how ram still offers the trusty hemi too. Tons of horsepower and the design of the engine has been refined since 2003 when they first came out with it. Their is a couple things i dont like though. The biggest problem is the backup sensors. If you have the tailgate down then the sensors go off and it locks the breaks up on you and scares the livin shit outta you lol. Same if it rains and water pools on the tanneau cover then when you put it in drive the water falls down the back tailgate and the rear sensors freak tf out and the brakes lock up. I get you can turn these sensors off but it still gets annoying asf. One other pet peeve is when you try to take a snapchat while you phone is connected to the radio then it automatically shuts the song ur listening to off when you start taking a snap. Exhaust manifold bolts are also very easy to break, shear, or rust out on these rams along with the annoying hemi tick. One other thing is it makes a horrible clunking sound when you first start the truck and it makes the same horrible clunking sound when you put it in 4wd. i have no idea why. My buddys 2020 does the same thing, i dont think anything’s wrong with it but it sounds horrible for being such a luxury truck. However other than those things they are good reliable trucks. If i had to do it all over again i still would’ve got the ram again 100%. Just being honest of what ive experienced so far.
Awesome! This is one of the best review i've ever seen. Thank you for sharing your experience. What is your mpg so far? is it 3.92? Is air suspension still good?
I got the howl too on my front passenger side more. I also have some really loud noise from that same side and on my driver side 3-4 times in the year that I've had it. Sometimes when you're driving it makes you think the doors are not shut correctly. Only happens when there's really strong winds and you're on a bit of speed.
Next time it happens, fold your mirrors in. I happened to be driving through South Dakota once(very, very windy on that day) and got the wind noise. I pulled over because it seemed like the stripping around the windshield may gave jarred loose, but everything was in tact. Got back up to hwy speeds and it reappeared. Something told me to power fold the mirrors and it disappeared. Very strange because these mirrors are similar to my old 2015 Ecodiesel, but I know the aeros on this Ram are far different.
Things I hate about my 2020 Ram 1500 Limited: (1) Bluetooth streaming from my phone has a 4 or 5 second delay. It's ridiculous. My 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie doesn't have any delay like this. (2) air conditioning never gets good enough to cool down the cab in hot Las Vegas days. My 2017 didn't have this problem at all. I love my truck though. My favorite feature is the multi-function tailgate that allows me to load things so much easier. I can stand right up against the bumper and reach so much farther in. Gotta be careful though, I got a nasty burn on my leg one day from the exhaust. Love my ramboxes too! Definitely the nicest truck on the road right now.
I noticed w my Laramie, if you give tailgate a slight push forward, while squeezing handle before pulling, it open it doesn’t stick. It may be an intended safety design.
I got a new 5th gen not too long ago. Only got about 4k on it so far. Only issue I’ve encountered is the leather on the front seats starting to “buckle” in the center and crease on the edges towards the door. Really has never been an issue until very high mileage on any of my other vehicles and it’s really unsightly (in my opinion). I’ve been conditioning them religiously lol, hopefully that makes a difference. Other than that though, satellite radio is a tad bit unresponsive but idk if that’s something I would call a fault. Great truck so far.
If this helps, 2014 ram with 90k miles 5.7 hemi. No problems. All buttons still work, engine and trans work great. Original front and rear lights. Only thing I’ve replaced was the battery.
I got 31000 Kilometers. Equates to 18000 miles approx. yes still new but no problems yet. I know several guys at work that have over 250,000 K’s and going strong. Very little issues. Just regular maintenance.
Thanks for your video. I have the 2019 Ram Laramie and am very satisfied. I think we loose bed space when we get the RamBoxes. I didn't order mine with them. I think it's poor engineering though, that outlets aren't included in both boxes. Same with the Mopar rear bumper deployable bed step being only available on the most unsafe side to access the bed, namely the driver's side. I still love the truck inside and out. Safe traveling, 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the kinds words. I really like the RamBoxes, but I agree, there should be outlets in both sides. I keep the power tools in one side, and the hand tools in the other.
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn 5.7- 26,800 miles. Uconnect needed flashing, both mirrors needed replacing due to odd clicking when putting out. Brakes squeal constantly. Other than that is a great truck.
The boxes have been my debate for my second ram when I hit 100k. At 22k right now on the 2020 but it is about to turn into full time work truck. Ready to log some miles. How's your transmission been holding up? Any issues to 70k as of yet?
The tailgate on my 2018 was jammed once opening it with lots of articulation going on with the rear axle. Steel has flex to it and it is somewhat elastic, believe it or not, and it's suppose to do that. Anyways when you don't side hill or park half way in the ditch it has never done it. Beauty truck by the way the new design is growing on me.
Thanks, Mike! Originally, I only noticed it when the bed frame was racked a little bit one way or the other. After a while, it would occasionally stick even on flat level ground. Someone in the comments mentioned to apply a little forward pressure when that happens. I tried it, and it works. Just won't help when trying to lower the gate from the fob. Anyway, thanks for watching!
Love it man, Im up in Vancouver canada, have a 19 limited. with 36k miles. Love the truck ,anytime i do over 70 mph i hear howling coming from the rear and sides of the truck. Other than that shes been good , Oh yea and my roof leaked 4x from the rear tail light and rear "windows" apparently lol. Dealership took care of it. Ive done a magnaflow cat back for about 10k miles now and i miss factory quiet cab.
I’ve been really tempted to put an exhaust on mine, too. But the quiet is so nice. When I was young, I’d run open headers and not bat an eye. Anymore, quiet is beautiful. Lol

@@kingTiwana I'm 22 and would never want louder lol. I have an 08 grand cherokee and I never cared for engine noise. I actually look forward to the day I can get an EV and do away with engine noise lol
That wind whistle noise you hear is likely coming from the plastic cowl piece at the bottom of the windshield under the hood. Mine has had a terrible wind noise since I bought it and that’s where it’s coming from. Still waiting for the replacement part from the dealer
I didn’t even think about taking it to the dealer for that. It’s so infrequent. But I appreciate the insight. I’ll try to pinpoint it. Good luck getting yours fixed!
This is so amazing how you can put so many miles on a truck in just on year the average a year is 10,000 to 15,000 a year that’s like way over average a year
Chrysler is buying my 2019 1500 limited back as a 🍋due to a grinding noise and vibrating steering wheel when turning at slow speeds. Do you ever experience this?
My tailgate sticks too. And I have a 2019 limited as well. I so wish I had gotten the ram boxes but it wasn't available with the model I ordered. I will share the way that I could upgrade to it somehow.
I am about to aquire a 2019 limited with 42,000 on the mileage. It is a one owner and has been properly maintained. It has a Leer truck cap. I want to haul a 6,800 max travel trailer. Do you think this truck has the capacity to tow this weight? I am worried by the reliability issues that you have raised.
So far the only issue I have had was with the steering gear. I talk about that a little more in a couple of the earlier videos. That and the AC isn’t very good. ):
Thanks! It’s the Truxedo Truxsport. I’ll link to my install video below. It’s worked out pretty well so far. It’s gotten 5 years worth of use in the last 12 months and it’s still doing its job. Getting a little worn though. I figure I’ll have to replace it sometime next year. But they are cheap enough. ruclips.net/video/bbs0XytMMEM/видео.html
@@MrJustinWheeler thanks for the update. I appreciate hearing opinions like yours, especially since you said you've tried a lot of them and this is the best one you've used. Thanks again.
@@jefferynelson7195 no problem! And it really just depends what you’re using it for. The painted fiberglass ones are nice, but won’t work with the RamBoxes and can’t be using when moving y’all loads. The retractable rolling metal covers are super convenient and tough, but they take up a LOT of bed space in the front of the bed. The tri-fold covers are my 2nd favorite, but they are expensive and limit the amount of usable bed. You CAN open them all the way, but I have seen them break the back glass that way. The soft covers don’t look the best or offer the most protection, but they are the only ones that don’t stop me from getting work done.
Do you get that weird clunk sound if you press firmly on the brake when starting the truck? Or hear a spring tension type sound when you apply the brakes?
@@MrJustinWheeler mines a 2020 rebel, as for the clunk it sounds like it’s coming from under the center stack on the dash, like the back side of the transmission at the driveline. But it doesn’t clunk if I put very light pressure on the brake. And the spring noise sounds like it’s coming from the brake master cylinder to the brake pedal. I can hear it when my window is down and I’m braking, but also from outside the truck when someone else is driving, like pulling into the driveway
I have essentially the same truck minus the Ram boxes (I have a Leer topper, so they weren’t a consideration) and only about 24k miles. The air suspension has been fine, but seems to tweak itself while sitting more than I’d like. My truck is leveled with air links and spacers up front because I’m running 35” Ridge Grapplers so I don’t know if the periodic adjustment while parked is a result of my tampering. I live in south east Texas where hot and humid is the norm and do have the same issue with the a/c. It does indeed seem to be a blend door issue because I mitigated it somewhat by installing a valve on the heater core inlet hose near the thermostat housing as a simple “fix” and as a means of diagnosing the problem. As I understand it, there now is a recent service bulletin on this so dealers should be able to correct it. I figure I’ll have it cared for when or if the truck needs to go in for other warranty service since closing off water flow to the heater cove via the valve makes it easier to live with the cooling than to live without the truck while it’s in the shop.
Just got a 2021, absolutely love it so far! It’s my first truck so I’m still getting used to driving it. Hopefully she’ll last a while! I don’t drive a ton but winter months can be brutal around here.

I've had several rams and have always had that weird vibration sound coming from the windshield. 09, 11, 13 and now latest 15. What's crazy is they have all had the same problems.
I've had s problem with each of my side mirrors completely stripping out resulting in them each being replaced. 1 of them will need replaced once again as its a reoccurring problem
I learned a lesson on a Mercedes....never move the mirror just by pushing on it directly (as in cleaning or wiping down) this tends to strip the gears. A detail guy told me this after I replaced the mechanism TWICE...
Weird according to my buddy I should've got a Toyota because I'd be lucky to get 70k miles on my Ram without a major issue. I have a 2017 Bighorn Ram 1500 Crew cab 4X4 hemi with a 6'4 bed I've had it for 15 months now I got it used. It's got 38k miles on it currently. I actually wanted a Tundra but they where 6-8k more so I went with the Ram.
You’ll get way more than 70k. I had a 4th Gen Ram 1500 before this one and it had 230k miles when I trailer it in and I never had a mechanical problem on it. I’ve also personally driven three 2500 Ram diesels over 125k and the only time they broke was when I was doing something I shouldn’t have been. Haha. Good luck brother!

As I have stated in several of your video's I have the same truck but I can't agree with you on purchasing this trim level again. My 2018 Laramie 2500 6.4 was a much better truck for me, you might ask why trade in a 2018 2500 for a 2019 1500, 2018 2500 didn't offer passenger side adjustable seat so my other half was not comfortable riding in it. I don’t mention all the other stuff that’s still working perfectly. All in all, it’s holding up pretty good. Thanks for watching!
it would be strange if the truck would already be having crazy wear and tear at 70k miles. it is not even 2 years old. having a high mileage like 125 000 miles or more is getting different.
That’s true, but I have some fleet vehicles with 40k that are much more worn. Just depends on how they are treated. This one gets worked pretty hard, but I do try to take care of it. Good news, I’ll be at 125k before ya know it and we will see if much has changed. Thanks for watching!
Good observation. Since I installed the bedcover, they don’t stay open by themselves unless you extend them 100%. If you do that, they will stay open. No fault of the Ram there.

Watch part 3 in the High Mileage Ram playlist (all of that info is in that video): ruclips.net/p/PLWUCECtviJK8Xgf2NYhw1iEqcCIpRv3M0
its a 3:21 rear end, he gets average 16mpg
I got the howl too on my front passenger side more. I also have some really loud noise from that same side and on my driver side 3-4 times in the year that I've had it.
Sometimes when you're driving it makes you think the doors are not shut correctly. Only happens when there's really strong winds and you're on a bit of speed.
Yeah, it freaked me out the first couple times. I was pulling on my door making sure it was shut all the way. Lol
@@hellkitty1014 happened to me while I was parked too but with winds
Crocs and cargo pants! Love ur style.
Haha, thanks man I appreciate it! And thanks for watching!
Crocks had me dying, get some redbacks son. Best boots I don't want to take them off
I noticed w my Laramie, if you give tailgate a slight push forward, while squeezing handle before pulling, it open it doesn’t stick. It may be an intended safety design.
At 70k I’m shocked you haven’t done the exhaust manifolds once or twice.
🤣 okay... that is pretty funny
@@TruckCentral my ‘13 has been awful for that. About every 30k miles
4:12 a truck is NEVER neglected when you put it to work its wearing its war paint!
Haha, hell yeah. I like the way you think!
Ive heard the radio issue is a software problem. Not major though.
I have the same tailgate issue. To get it to work push the tailgate in and then press the release button and it’ll open right up.
Just traded my 2019 Chevy Silverado LTZ Z71 6.2 in for a 20 Ram limited hoping it’ll be A ok.
I did too. 🤟🏾
Y’all won’t regret it!
Why did you trade the Silverado?
Other than that is a great truck.
are your brake pads in need of replacement?
My front driver brakes squeals just for a second when I first leave my house in the morning.
@@james2042 I have plenty of material, It's a known issues with the factory pads.
@@MrJustinWheeler That's odd on level ground. I wonder what that's all about.
Ive done a magnaflow cat back for about 10k miles now and i miss factory quiet cab.
why did you get rid of the stock?
I’ve been really tempted to put an exhaust on mine, too. But the quiet is so nice. When I was young, I’d run open headers and not bat an eye. Anymore, quiet is beautiful. Lol
@@james2042 I was dumb a year ago at 26 wanted that low grumble, now im married and a kid is on the way, lol looking at adding some sort of silencer since i got rid of my factory system

@@kingTiwana I'm 22 and would never want louder lol. I have an 08 grand cherokee and I never cared for engine noise. I actually look forward to the day I can get an EV and do away with engine noise lol
How is the overall engine performance and transmission holding up?
He has non-Etorque HEMI and the ZF. I'm sure he hasn't had any concerns.
I have the same hoot/whistle with 45 degree crosswinds. I thought it was the mirrors, as it seems to disappear if you fold the mirrors
This is so amazing how you can put so many miles on a truck in just on year the average a year is 10,000 to 15,000 a year that’s like way over average a year
Yes sir, I average anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 miles per month.
Chrysler is buying my 2019 1500 limited back as a 🍋due to a grinding noise and vibrating steering wheel when turning at slow speeds. Do you ever experience this?
What do you do for a living and or fun that has you driving all these miles?
My tailgate sticks too. And I have a 2019 limited as well. I so wish I had gotten the ram boxes but it wasn't available with the model I ordered. I will share the way that I could upgrade to it somehow.
How come the ram boxes weren’t available to your model? Did you go with the 3500?
I am about to aquire a 2019 limited with 42,000 on the mileage. It is a one owner and has been properly maintained. It has a Leer truck cap.
I want to haul a 6,800 max travel trailer.
Do you think this truck has the capacity to tow this weight?
I am worried by the reliability issues that you have raised.
I use w40 in my ram tailgate once in 3 months and is so smoothly open ,
Great video. Thank you. Any issues with the engine? Transmission? Suspension? Electronics? Thank you
So far the only issue I have had was with the steering gear. I talk about that a little more in a couple of the earlier videos. That and the AC isn’t very good. ):
Good review! Question... What model Truxedo soft cover is this? Thanks.

Great review!
Thank you sir! I might need to borrow that plow here in a month or two (;
I’ve heard of rust issues with ram boxes? Is that a thing.
Do you get that weird clunk sound if you press firmly on the brake when starting the truck? Or hear a spring tension type sound when you apply the brakes?
Hey Jordan. I have not noticed either of those sounds yet. Can you tell which direction the noise is coming from? You have a 19 Ram as well?
@@MrJustinWheeler mines a 2020 rebel, as for the clunk it sounds like it’s coming from under the center stack on the dash, like the back side of the transmission at the driveline. But it doesn’t clunk if I put very light pressure on the brake. And the spring noise sounds like it’s coming from the brake master cylinder to the brake pedal. I can hear it when my window is down and I’m braking, but also from outside the truck when someone else is driving, like pulling into the driveway
@@Apothas541 Yes, if I keep my foot on the brake pedal. Try letting off the brake as soon as you hit the start button.
Must have missed something, why did you have 3-4 tailgates?
How much does a new tail gate cost?
I feel like there's so many issues with ram. My uncle has had to replace the manifold several times.
Just got a 2021, absolutely love it so far! It’s my first truck so I’m still getting used to driving it. Hopefully she’ll last a while! I don’t drive a ton but winter months can be brutal around here.
You're going to love it. Where are you from? I'm guessing somewhere up north?
@@MrJustinWheeler Yea, northeast, still haven't had the chance to take it out in any snow. Love the heated steering wheel/seats.. So far has been great in cold weather :)

My tailgate does the same thing from time to time all you have to do is push in when you open it no big deal..
My power one-touch-down & one-touch-up drivers side window acts up often. If anything touches the door it stops and you have to reset the function.
How many rpm at 65 and 75 mph with your 3.21 gear?
I have a limited 2020 ram, i feel that i am in the truck bed from the amount of air that i hear in the car while i am driving!
Note:- it only has 36,000 kilometers on it
Thanks, man!!
Yes sir! Thank you for watching!
I've had several rams and have always had that weird vibration sound coming from the windshield. 09, 11, 13 and now latest 15. What's crazy is they have all had the same problems.
I love the idea of the ram boxes but I can’t keep anything important in mine because they open by themselves all the time :(
I've had s problem with each of my side mirrors completely stripping out resulting in them each being replaced. 1 of them will need replaced once again as its a reoccurring problem
Yikes. That’s no bueno. Could you tell what’s causing the problem? Collision? Dirt in the mechanism? Ice?

2017 150010 miles only issue was the exhaust bolt on passenger side
As I have stated in several of your video's I have the same truck but I can't agree with you on purchasing this trim level again. My 2018 Laramie 2500 6.4 was a much better truck for me, you might ask why trade in a 2018 2500 for a 2019 1500, 2018 2500 didn't offer passenger side adjustable seat so my other half was not comfortable riding in it. In late 21 early 22 I will order my next truck Im sure it will be a Ram just don't know if it will be 1500 or 2500, Laramie or Limited.
i have a 2019 ram 1500 as well and my gate does the same thing.
What do you mean 3rd one on the tail gate?
That low pitched sound your hearing is the bees in your back floorboard...Tailgate is made from aluminum, not steel...
How about the gas economy when you are pulling a trailer ?
Economy goes down quick when pulling a heavy load. My 3,000 miles round trip with 10k plus trailer had me averaging 8.5 mpg.
You should watch Scotty Kilmer. It will give you some insight on th reliability of various brands
I have to listen to Scotty without watching.....the hand movements drive me crazy
I too have the tailgate issue, drives me crazy
Is it any better when you apply a little forward pressure to the tailgate when it is stuck?
@@MrJustinWheeler yes sir, that's exactly what I have to do to get it to work. I wish they would come up with a fix to this because it would be nice to be able to use the remote tail gate drop button
Yeah they look nice but with stuff about to break in just a year is a scary ordeal. Looks like a lot of headaches in the near future.
It’s always risky getting stuff with bells and whistles. More to possibly go wrong. And there is definitely some wear occurring, but I really only show the few problems areas. What kind and size tires you have on the Ram?
These are the Nitto Ridge Grapplers 305/45/22. Great tires. My last Ram had 305 Nitto Terra Grapplers on them and I rolled them for over 100k miles!
@@MrJustinWheeler So I always ask: Which had the lowest amount of hwy noise, the Ridge or Terras? I always seem to get mixed answers.

Thanks buddy!
it would be strange if the truck would already be having crazy wear and tear at 70k miles. it is not even 2 years old. having a high mileage like 125 000 miles or more is getting different.
That’s true, but I have some fleet vehicles with 40k that are much more worn. Just depends on how they are treated. This one gets worked pretty hard, but I do try to take care of it. Good news, I’ll be at 125k before ya know it and we will see if much has changed. Thanks for watching!
Ram 1500s seem very “J.D. Initial Quality” if you know what I mean
Looks like the Ram boxes don't stay open by themselves anymore.
Good observation. Since I installed the bedcover, they don’t stay open by themselves unless you extend them 100%. If you do that, they will stay open. No fault of the Ram there.
ruclips.net/video/bbs0XytMMEM/видео.html
Damnit why can’t they make a tail gate that works.
So once you get done with your Ram as in reviews on high mileage. Are you planning to get another truck to review like GM or Ford?
I’m going to keep this truck for a few more years. I’d like to take it to 300,000/400,000 miles and really put it to the test. *Spoiler alert*- I did pre-order the Tesla Cybertruck.. 😈
You put as many miles on this in 3 months as I put on my car in a year hot damn. How's uconnect been holding up?
