It probably will be dada because its amongst one of the easiest sounds for babies to start making. Don't feel bad about it he won't know what it means and will start saying mama soon enough 😊
babies also mimic, that's how they learn words. so if you say something around them enough they will most likely catch onto it. people usually repeat "mama/dada" to babies so they'll learn it first... btw first words aren't always simple. for example , from what my parents said, my older brother's first word was "ball" in our language. which in our language isn't that simple to say for a baby😅
Hey, so while my first word was “Mama”, the first word of my brother was “Auto” (car in German, he really liked cars) followed by “Andi” (the name of my dad, which my mum was saying a lot). 😂 I think you can’t really predict it, but of course there is a certain probability it’s mama or papa/dada.
My sisters baby calls me "dada" and I'm her aunt.... it doesn't really mean anything to her, it's just what was easiest and I always answered when she said it, so she associated me with being dada.... I love her for it! ❤
I’ve worked with kids for four years now and unfortunately because they move from a babbling stage to words, babies often say dada as their first word unintentionally. It’s often more that they are just babbling and in their babbling they’re saying ‘dadadadadadadadada’ which many people assume is the child saying dada. But I believe that what contributes to this is the parents saying dads to the child so it is context-specific Xx
😂 my first went back and forth with dada and mama sounds. His first word was actually "muah" because it's what he called our cat. BUT when he could distinguish Mama and Dada more he would always say Mama, even when my husband asked him to say Dada. Sending that energy your way. Lol
My little brother made his own language that only we (my family) can understand Mama = milk/food Aba = water/juice/liquids/water bottles or containers Heh = he wants you to do something, he usually says heh and points at something like the Alexa and says random gibberish which is his way of begging for something. When he points at the Alexa that usually means he wants to listen to a song, if he does it with the tv that means he wants to watch tv, if he does it with you that means he wants to play with you or he wants to be picked up. If you do not comply with what he says he decides to pull your hair and bite u until u come. He's very stubborn haha.
In a house like that? YES. Watch out, though, he'll be extra like his parents - he'll clam up for three more years until one day he emphatically says the word "Cubism.", places a final block on his tower and destroys the whole thing , all while maintaining eye contact. With Julie specifically, while Camilla falls over laughing.
Thank you i laughed so hard on this 🤣 i didn't thought about this ! In french it's "Papa" so the D sound isnt bothering, i never realised "dada" could be a problem 🥲🥲 (in french "dada" is the kid's way to say "horse"... Maybe your child is going to love horses ? 🥲)
In Germany it is also mama(mum) and papa(dad), but dada is more of “das da” (this one) so babies actually saying dada and pointing somewhere they usually want that.
In Russia we also have mamas and papas😊 In our language word "da" means "yes", so when child understood the meaning of this word, he/she get an opportunity to agree with somebody.
Omg! I’ve seen a couple of other lesbian couples who have had the same problem! It makes me wonder how many babies said dada to their dad but still didn’t recognize what it meant and just said it 😂 love you guys!!! ❤❤❤
You’re absolutely spot on. Dada is the easiest sound for a baby to make so most babies have dada as their first word but it’s not really their first word at all, it’s just a sound that they keep vocalizing because they know it will get them a positive reaction. Lol
It probably will, just because it's so so easy for their little itty bitty mouths and voices to say! It's okay! Your baby knows their wonderful mamas and they'll be able to voice it soon enough ❤️❤️
the thing that scares me the most is getting older.. like imagine your eyesight gets worse, you barely hear anything anymore, you aren't able to move that much coz your body aches.. idk it just scares me, every time I see my grandparents suffering
One of my biggest tips, don’t ‘baby talk’ to your baby, just talk to them like a normal person, the language development is much smoother and even a bit earlier that way. I was talking in complete sentences already under two years old. ❤
Y'all this video is a joke. They don't need hundreds of people trying to exlain their own child to them 🤦♀️ They get it, they're just making a silly video.
or.. and hear me out... maybe its that its a simple sound that babies can make and they dont even understand what theyre saying. and youre being fucking weird
LOL, I had the same fear as a single mom 38 years ago. 'Dada' was her first noise that sounded like a word, but is actually a normal chattering sound they make while practicing to articulate words. It doesn't mean anything!
Don't worry, the word mama will come soon after. However, it is true that "dada" is easier to pronounce because there is no nasal sound, whereas the "m" found in "mama" is way more difficult to pronounce for babies due to the nasal component that it has. It's just a matter of development, so don't stress too much about it! Sending big hugs from Spain and happy new year to all of you! 😊
There is a great modern family episode where Mitch and Cam's adopted daughter Lily says her first, "mommy" in front of her two gay dads. It is so heartwarming.
